Poor Things (2023)
Great Acting by Ruffalo
Well it was just weird. But I really loved Mark Ruffalo in the movie. He was so funny. And he really made the role very believable. The other actors and actresses were great but their roles didn't have the same kind of acting needed. Ruffalo was able to put more emotion into his role. Emma Stone did her role very well as the lovely Bella. Who was learning more and becoming a more rounded role for her. So her "frankinsteinish" role was well played. Dafoe as the mad scientist who let his creation loose into the world was well played as well! Personally I would have just watched it for Mark Ruffalo though.
The Order (2019)
Good
So much work went into this. But Sarah Grey cannot act! Why ruin the entire show with her horrible acting? Her only expression seems to be surprise and it's only varied by her mouth, it was either smiling or open because she was so surprised.
The main character was really good. Also all the other people seemed like pretty good actors. Like I said it's just a shame they had her in it. Every scene she was in was painful to watch. It got kinda crazy but still understandable. But I enjoyed watching it because of some of the other actors and story was interesting! Will watch if they make more seasons and stuff.
Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Loved the View Into the Past
Maybe I'm biased because I've lived on and off in Oklahoma my whole life. I really enjoyed seeing how the Native Americans and whites intermingled back then. Of course the whole story was utterly disgusting but it had a satisfying ending. I think DiCaprio did a great acting job. Loved the movie. I didn't even notice it was 3 hours long until I left and it was dark outside.
I loved some of the characters so much. They were really interesting! Of course the subject matter was sad, but I'm so glad they made this movie illustrating what really happened.
I really enjoyed the interactions between between.
They Cloned Tyrone (2023)
Great Sci Fi Romp? I dunno it was just a fun movie.
At first this movie just seemed too ghetto to me. I won't say why, that would ruin it. But anyway it got better and better as the characters developed. The main character, was really a watchable star. Fun and interesting to watch.
The characterizations started out pretty standard stereotypes until you got to know the characters better. I was afraid it was going to turn into a Dolomite type film. But no, it was 100% sci-fi.
It was different because it did have all or 95% black actors. I'm not sure, I wasn't searching to see if any other races were in there. And like I said before the main character definitely had that "star" quality.
I liked the end! It was funny! Fun movie, grab some popcorn and watch it!
Bender (2016)
Great Creepy Movie
I love this movie it's so creepy! I'm glad I'm watching it during the day so I don't get nightmares! It's based on a true story I never even heard about.
Each of the Bender family characters is super creepy in their own way. Even the child in the movie! The dad takes the cake though. He reminds me of Father Jack on that show Father Ted. LOL
I love how they filmed it in Kansas. I love seeing the prairie and how people used to live back then. I'm sure it was a very difficult existence. I can't even imagine living back then. And these people came from Europe and ended up in the middle of frigging Kanses with a lot of nothing!
Aseudal Yeondaegi (2019)
Looks good but it's not dubbed into English
Foreign films look cool, but I can't watch them with just subtitles. Wish they'd dub them into English. Reviews don't say if show is subtitled or dubbed. Annoying! #EnglishSpeakersUnite Wish they'd dub foreign films so we can enjoy them too. Eyes lit up in beginning, looked cool.
If, one day, this movie is translated into English, I would take great pleasure in viewing it. I wish that eventually all international films could be dubbed into English, making it easier for viewers to understand them. Why is it, though, that English-language films that are not dubbed into another language are simpler to comprehend than films that have been dubbed?
Amsterdam (2022)
Loved It!!!!
This movie is so full of stars, and wonderful acting of course. The story was captivating. The quick dialogue was fun.
Lots of characterization of all the players, so that was great. It's' part of history that we often don't hear much about. So I really enjoyed that especially after learning more about this time in history. If you want to know more about Amsterdam, it's not really about that. I's more about the USA and the ideals of the country.
I really liked the whacky main character played by Christian Bale. His hobbies and work were very interesting. The ending was good. Kind of a happily ever after film, sort of. Although they did allude to the coming WW2.
