This is a well-written and wonderfully acted series from Netflix. The casting is spot on and it is easy to identify with the characters. The challenge is that there is a lot of dead space. Of course with a heavy topic like this, we need time to soak it all in, but if you are a parent, or have an ounce of empathy, you pick up on the emotional aspects right away. So, I liked it. But, if you cut out all the dead space, slow talking, and pondering, this could have been 4 or 5 episodes. It is almost like the writer signed on for a 6 episode deal but only had material for 4 episodes of material. This is something similar to a college paper that you nailed with only 1,500 words but the professor wants 2,500 words. So you fill, add a sideline of information, explain things twice. And restate your thesis repeatedly. You get the idea. By the end, I was just forwarding through whenever I did not see someone talking and I do not think I missed a thing.
