- Captain Matt Holbrook leads a squad of brave and tough detectives in a large, unnamed city. Instead of leading personal lives, they spend all of their time tracking murderers, thieves, corrupt cops, con-men and other lawbreakers. Holbrook's squad always consisted of three detectives, and rarely were all four men on a case at the same time.
- A man confesses to the police that had a dream in which he killed his wife. After the police investigate and find nothing, Capt. Holbrook pieces together his clever plan.
- A good citizen returns a bag full of money that was left behind during a bank robbery. The bag contains over $100,000 less than the amount that was robbed so he becomes a suspect in the robbery.
- A man poses as a Priest, and recruits a gang to steal some diamonds from a diamond convention, but things don't go quite as planned.

- While leaving a restaurant, Captain Holbrook and a waitress are taken prisoner by homicidal maniac Vince Treynor, who is intent on killing Holbrook that night at the same time his brother dies in the electric chair. The police officer who arrested the condemned man was - Captain Holbrook.
- A night club singer is rescued from committing suicide by Lt. Russo. She was acquitted of killing her husband. Lt. Russo sets out to find the real killer.
- A night watchman in a car lot is run over by some youths who have stolen a car. The youths are from a nearby prep school, however the head of the school is unwilling to help the police in their investigation.
- A con man ingratiates himself with people raising money. He pays back their money with interest,allowing him to open up a legit business taking in thousands of dollars. Capt. Holbrook knows he is guilty and sets a trap.
