As for Lorenzo he gets gunned down by the police. Finally understanding that Robert has sacrificed himself out of love for her, Maria accepts to become his wife.
- "La Montagne est verte" (Green is the mountain) is the name of a song chosen as the title of this short. It is an historical documentary made in the Antilles about the life of abolitionist Victor Schoelcher, who fought more than twenty years against slavery. First Prix Jean Vigo in 1951, award given in France since that year.
