Schultz tells Mischa he is planning to escape to the western zone, and Mischa gives him the address of a contact in free Germany. Schultz's plan is uncovered by the police and he commits suicide. When they find the contact's address, Mischa and Anna, now deeply in love, are forced to flee. There, the Russian secret police trick Anna into a car and start the drive back to the eastern zone from which there is no way out.

The seven men, the General, and a lonesome hired American (Gringo), start up north; on their way, they cross an old guerrilla and his young companion, Maria, a sexy brunette who decide to join them - and soon Maria becomes the General's lover. The Gringo is sent alone to the farm house to see if it is clear, but he finds there Vera Stevens, a widow whose husband was murdered by Villa's men. The Gringo understands that in the same action, his dear wife was murdered, too... and he changes his loyalty to the blonde widow, who is decided to defend her hose with the sheriff and a handful of her farm hands. They do put up a fight when the General and Villa's seven decide on a full out attack. After much bloodshed, Vera and the Gringo are alone, captured, and tortured to tell where the gold is. They manage to escape their bonds, and counterattack, killing all their enemies, and facing the future with some confidence.

The banker is mean, but renounces with dignity. Lots of characters that are unsettled and uncertain, mirror of a time when the "total war" was already raging, a time when the theme of the city cursed a new dimension and could no longer only be interpreted as a reactionary critique of civilization. After the end of the war the antisemitic failures were eradicated and the film came to the cinema.

But it does not take long for the pair to miss each other's presence.

Subsequently, Anna Falkner, who gets the prescription, is lead into temptation to get rid of her hatred competitor. Evetually, morality wins and Anna mixes the morphine in the right dose.

- At the end of the 1950s, a former concentration camp inmate, the puppeteer Sebastian Fußberg, traveled across the country with his traveling theater. He takes in Achim, the grandson of his friend who was killed in Buchenwald. Achim could become his successor. The young Marianne, who, when she is not cleaning, lies in the beds of the builders in front of whom Fussberg and Achim are playing, also joins Fußberg. Even if the three of them get closer, the puppeteer with his traumatic past ultimately remains a stranger to the young people. In the end, Fußberg moves on alone again.
- The saga of Stefan (David C. Bunners), an 18-year-old construction worker who struggles to make it on his own is the theme that winds its way through this look at growing up. There are surprises in store for the young lad once he manages to move into his own apartment (he had a hard time telling his mother he was moving out). His landlord exploits his good nature to get him to do work around the house and to do favors for his friends too. Stefan's relationship with his mother is already strained after he moved out, and when she discovers how he is being used she really loses it. In an attempt to apologize, she gives Stefan her apartment to watch while she is away for awhile. He opportunistically decides to bring his new girlfriend home overnight, with comic and unforeseen consequences to his relationship with her and his mother.
