- The founder of Scientology - science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard - gave instructions on how to deal with every detail in human life. His followers considered him a specialist in the field of bringing up the children and the Church of Scientology expects parents to follow Hubbard's instructions. The children are considered adults in small bodies, better known as Thetans (souls) in small bodies. The Thetans have left their previous mortal frame (that is when a person dies) and have taken residence in a new frame, and that might just as well be the one of a child. Within the elite of Scientology, a uniformed corps called the Sea Organization, these practises lead to abuse and the children grow up literally as orphans.
