- A Darjeeling-based singer is asked to impersonate and take over the life of a Calcutta-based China Town gangster.
- Shalini's mother attempts to poison her entire family when it crumbles financially, but Shalini intervenes and promises to improve their financial condition. Soon, Shalini's family prospers, but her means of income comes into question.
- Sitanath Ardhnarayan Choudhry and Ajit Khanna are old friends. Sitanath has a daughter named Sunita, and Ajit has a son named Jai. In order to do this, Ajit asks Jai to travel to Sitanath's village, meet Sunita, and if found compatible, make arrangements for marriage, to which Jai agrees to. On reaching Sitanath's residence, Jai, in the company of his friend, Pradeep, come across a man named Ravi, who tells them they are in the wrong village, and directs them to a mansion run by an eccentric owner, so that they can spend the night there, and then take the train back the next day. Ravi warns them about the owner, who likes to talk all night to anyone who listens. Both Jai and Pradeep meet the owner, and are quite abrupt with him. The next day, Jai meets the owner's daughter Kimi, and falls in love with her. The problem is how does he go about notifying his dad about his new-found love for Kimi, and the reason why they ended up in the wrong village on one hand; and how is he going to make amends to Kimi's dad?

When Tulsi (Jayaprada) who knows his greatness, but drifted away in life due to circumstances, sends her son to learn from shastriji. The son absorbs all he can & becomes his true prodigy at the end of the movie. The Music by LP is simply ahead of times, and a true amalgamation of authentic Classical sounds with the vocals from Pandit Rajan Sajan Mishras, Lata Mangeshkar, Suresh Wadkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy. is a real musical treat for the ears of audience. The underplay of emotions is simply over whelming & one should watch the movie to know the greatness of the minds of the classical musicians...

Shortly thereafter the entire village is agog with the news that Asha is pregnant. A man named Jeevan comes forward to claim her as his bride and she moves in with him. Little do the villagers and Asha parents' know that Asha has been intimate with an attractive and wealthy artist by the name of Anil. But since Anil has met with an accident, he is disfigured, possibly for life, and knowing that Asha will dump him as he is not attractive anymore, decides not to return. How long will Asha continue to live with Jeevan, and what will be the outcome of her child?
