- Marilyn Winters' wants to buy King so her father tries purchase him from the Brown's but Herbert won't sell him. So Marilyn trick Velvet into showing King at the club knowing that because Velvet isn't a member she cannot ride him in the show, only Marilyn can.
- Mr. Brown need's a new generator but he just can't afford it because he's already pledged the last $100 in his savings for getting his wife a new coat for their anniversary, so Velvet tries to raise the money.
- The Brown Family is going to have a BBQ and Edwina invites Teddy and his father who is the principal of their High School. Edwina wants everything to be perfect so Mi gets Teddy's father to relax with Herbert's Elderberry Wine. Teddy even starts helping the Brown's with the milking.
- Chip, a troubled kid from the city, has been mistreating King but Velvet want's to help him.
- Donald has no one to play with so he creates an imaginary a friend and calls him Willy. Donald decides to leaves and takes King with him, then hides him. Soon a new boy who's named is Willy shows up.
- After getting sick the Doctor say Donald has to have his tonsils taken out.
- Martha's very lazy nephew Morton comes to the Brown Farm for a visit claiming he has bad leg so that he can't work. King finally scares Morton so bad that he starts running, proving his leg is fine.
- Velvet sister Edwina has an army-bound boyfriend who she's sneaking out of the house to have a last visit with him.
- The Brown's neighbor tries to cover the fact that their cows are sick with Foot and Mouth disease that Mi claims they have.
- Velvet's Grandpa comes over for a family visit and after seeing her riding King suggests that they should ride in the up coming Grand National steeplechase competition.
- Velvet's Grandfather returns to the Brown Farm believing there's oil on the property that he starts drilling for it all over the place.
- Marilyn is having a jumping race with Velvet but when her groom tells Mi that the beautiful white horse she's riding better jumper than King he tries calls off the race. Velvet decides she wants to race anyway just to win.
- Edwina is trying to do all the work around the house while Martha is in town taking care of Donald accidentally gives King to Hr.Herly the owner of the packing house who decides to keep him.
- Herbert is jealous because of Edgar Torrance, a former Beau of Martha who went to the same school growing up together. Edgar now works for the town newspaper.
- Mi want's to pass his citizenship test but he is accused of stealing in England which is a felony that may get him deported. .
- Mrs. Sinclair's pretty niece comes over for visit where Mi becomes smitten with her and Velvet becomes very jealous.
- While Velvet is out riding King she's sees a wild horse that looks like King. Velvet gets a closer look at the horse and sees that it has been beaten so she wants to save him from all the people trying to catch it.
- King won't race or eat because he's lonely for Tiny, Donald's Shetland pony. Velvet is upset because King cannot race without Tiny but Donald tells Velvet she can't have him.
- Velvet decides to enter King in an upcoming steeplechase competition but Mi's advice against it.
- Because Edwina forgets to get the books that Teddy needs for an upcoming exam, he does not take her to the dance.
- Mrs. Adams stove explodes and she is injured then is taken away by ambulance, her daughter Terry comes over to the Brown's to stay while her mother in the Hospital.
- Edwina and Velvet are overjoyed when a forthcoming beauty contest causes the sisters to become involved together in the activities.
- Edwina falls for a big-talking college boy, who seems to be good at everything. This really annoys' Velvet and Teddy.
- Mi's adult cousin Leona who he has never seen shows up from Ireland to marry him because an old family arrangement by his Father.

- Velvet has found out that King has sired a colt with another family's mare who are moving away and they want to find him a good home for the colt. Mi and Velvet take the colt back to the farm but King does not want him around.
- After watching the "Black Bar Slade" western special on Television Donald imagines he is fighting with Black Bar himself.
- A drought causes the well to go dry, then the water well pump stops working from no rain. Velvet even offers to sell King.
- Production Engineer, Harrison Willobee, who is also an Efficiency Expert from the Winters Dairy is sent to the Brown's Farm to see if they are handling their milking business properly.
- Herbert and Mi are talking about a miracle food that grows really fast but it's really poisonous and unfortunately Donald feeds it to his Shetland pony Tiny.
- Donald accidentally spooks King while Velvet is riding him which causes him to rear then she falls off. This causes Velvet to have dizzy spells.
- One of Herbert's cows is shot by hunters on his property which starts a feud between him and Homer over land usage.
- With a brush fire getting too close to the Brown farm Herbert and Mi have to go and try and put it out, but in a panic King escapes from his paddock. Then a wolf runs into the barn to escape from the fire.
- Velvet's sister Edwina canary dies while in Donald care and he's suffering from guilt.
- A fortune teller over hears that Mrs. Anderson would give anything to win the County Hunt Show tells Velvet that King will have a serious injury if she rides him in the show.
- Everyone says there is a "witch" living in the old haunted house so while out riding Velvet meets the occupant Ann Roberts a former rider. Velvet wants to help Ann because she cannot ride anymore.
- Velvet finds out that chemical company wants to buy the land around the towns lake to build a plant.
- Malcome Porter who drives the milk wagon with his horse Whitey gets laid off from the dairy and has to find a place to retire his old horse. Velvet volunteers to keep the horse on the farm but Whitey does not want to retire yet.
- A boy named Billy comes to visit the Brown's who is now blind no longer has any hope until he tries jumping King.
- An old man comes driving by the Brown Farm in his car towing a horse trailer with Shetland pony in it has an accident.
- At the County Fair Martha wins the Blue Ribbon for her jam, soon a salesman comes to the farm to buy her receipe and sell it nationwide. Herbert gets upset because they will make lots of money and won't need the farm anymore.
- Velvet sets up a raffle to save a horse named The Pie from being slaughtered. So she rides the Pie in the junior steeplechase competition and wins riding bareback.
- To earn money for new jumping saddle Velvet get's job teaching a spoiled rich kid named Bradley Walton III how to ride.
- A rumor is spreading around town which says that Sam Watkins, the local Farrier, has injured King. Velvet and Mi decide to start another rumor to correct this one.
- $25.00 is stolen from the Class Memorial Fund and it's by Betty a classmate and friend of Edwina who asks' her for help in replacing the money. They go back to the school to replace it and Velvet goes looking for Edwina when she does not come home.
- John Oliver Hadley and his over protective mother, Helen move in next door to the Brown Farm. John rides King without permission then falls off and his mother tries to get the horse put to sleep for being mean.
