Das Drehbuch von Birgit Maiwald führt beide Generationen zu der Frage, wie ein ebenbürtiger Neuanfang möglich wird. Der Witwer Danyal macht sich Sorgen um seine Tochter Jila, obwohl die Ärztin längst auf eigenen Beinen steht. Als der Mittfünfziger vergeblich auf einen Rückruf wartet, eilt er mit zwei Kumpels aus dem fränkischen Kitzingen nach Berlin. Der Karrierejurist Markus und der Entertainer Tobi, ebenfalls liebende Väter mit erwachsenen Töchtern in der Hauptstadt, möchten den Freundschaftsdienst mit der Gelegenheit verbinden, auf ihre Art nach dem Rechten zu schauen. Kaum angekommen, müssen die drei jedoch erkennen, noch weniger über das Leben der jungen Frauen zu wissen, als sie sich hätten träumen lassen. Jila will mit Danyal nicht sprechen, da sie ihn für das Scheitern mehrerer Beziehungen verantwortlich macht. Die erfolglose Schauspielerin Tilda möchte, dass ihr Vater sie nicht mehr mit seinen überzogenen Karriereerwartungen belastet. Und Hanna konfrontiert den selbstgefälligen Richter Markus damit, aus juristisch fragwürdigen Gründen heimlich geheiratet zu haben. Um sich zu sammeln, bleibt den drei Vätern wenig Zeit. Ihr Kurztrip entwickelt eine Eigendynamik, die auch die Töchter an Grenzen gehen lässt .
- Since the death of her parents ten years ago, Nell (Pia Micaela Barucki) has always been there for her siblings and has taken over the family locksmith's shop. With her outsider grandpa by her side, Fanny is tackling her big dream: She wants to win the talent competition at school - as a Fanny Supergirl, of course.

When the Chinese company, which has just swallowed his Frankfurt-based bank, sends him the young careerist Tutz to process "his" branch, Stenzel feels worthless and "has fallen off the train". He protests against injustice and finally shows what his wife Barbara has been demanding of him for a long time: courage. With money from the dead bank account of a deceased person, he gives the urgently needed transition loan to the ailing daycare center in which his deceased daughter went. His white lie that it is a question of financing from a special secret fund soon attracts other interested parties. Intoxicated by his actions, Stenzel granted further "special loans" - also to the young street musician Jana, who reminded him of his daughter - and thus ensured a surprising upswing in the sleepy town. Unfortunately, there is a catch: If not all loans have been repaid by the time the branch closes on Christmas Eve, Stenzel comes to the devil's kitchen.

So haben Krause und seine Schwestern Elsa (Carmen-Maja Antoni) und Meta (Angelika Böttiger) mit ihrer bunt zusammengewürfelten Wahlfamilie alle Hände voll zu tun. Und es warten noch einige weitere Weihnachtsüberraschungen auf sie.

Captain Furrer suspects him of the murder of a passenger, the African investigative journalist Nuka Baluba. The "lawyer without a license" suspects that Baluba's research into child labor in cobalt mines in the Congo has something to do with the murder. During his research he came across the respected charity "Our Heart for Africa" by Henrik Wollschlger, whose patrons also included the upper class of the financial metropolis of Zurich and some wealthy clients of his old friend, the star lawyer Reto Zanger. In addition, shortly before his death, the murdered man had contact with Anneli Keller, the Africa expert at the Federal Foreign Office, and her boss Ulf Hellmann. Meanwhile, Dominique takes on the widow of the murdered journalist, Malia Baluba - without realizing that she is also in great danger.
- "Franz Brosi is innocent ..." - this anonymous message arouses the curiosity of the "lawyer without a license" Thomas Borchert. His clerk, Dominique, immediately knows who it is about: the cabinet maker Brosi was her first client as a public defender and has been in prison for the murder of a young banker for eleven years. She can hardly believe that someone is now claiming his innocence - after all, Brosi had refused her help at the time and made an extensive confession. But Borchert wouldn't be Borchert if he didn't want to get something out of the silent model convict. But Brosi, whom he visits with Dominique in prison, does not want any easing of detention or legal representation. But Borchert does not give up and he soon suspects that there must be more to the story of the repentant sinner who wants to serve the full sentence. While Dominique is getting the old police files from Captain Furrer, Borchert drives to Prättigau to find the anonymous letter writer. In Brosi's home village, the lawyer tries to find out on his own what really happened. Not only the onset of winter in the remote mountain world, but also the icy rejection of the residents makes him shiver. Borchert soon believes he is on the trail of a secret for which Brosi holds out his head.

When he pushed ahead with the takeover by the unscrupulous hedge fund manager Decker, the alarm bells were ringing at Borchert - especially since the purchase price appears suspiciously low. With the help of his friend Reto, he discovers a dubious takeover maneuver. Borchert reveals yet another, as yet undiscovered crime.

Borchert and his clerk Dominique still believe their client's assurances. During their research, they come under tremendous suspicion.
- Shortly before closing time, a jeweler in Stuttgart is robbed. He himself is injured and his customer dies while trying to escape. The robbers' actions are similar to an attack from the previous year.
- License-suspended Thomas Borchert and Dominique Kuster represent widow Louise Schneider and especially daughter Viola, claiming on feeble grounds medical malpractice killed husband/father Anton Schneider, an MS patient of neurologist Dr. Markus Hoffer. Hoffer and his star lawyer, Borchert's friend Reto Zanger, demand an autopsy, which suggest Anton Schneider committed assisted suicide, with toxic help from someone knowing about his condition. The prosecutor therefore charges the widow, who has access long enough, with homicide. Borchert seeks to clear her, nosing in police captain Furrer's case. Anton Schneider repeatedly visited and paid a pharmaceutical company, which wasn't allowed human tests yet with a potential MS cure. Shortly after, Borchert's taxi deliberately tries to run him over.
- 2016– 1h 29m6.8 (62)TV EpisodeBorchert co-chairs with Dominique Kuster the defense of penniless but smart juvenile weekend robber Tim Ritter, who is reluctant to reveal the identity of his fled cahoot Robin, who just fled after they discovered the fatally stabbed corpse of leading contractor Hubert Thalmann. Police captain Furrer will arrest at least Tim soon, unless they find Thalmann's real murderer first. His brother, attorney Bernard Thalmann, who deeply resented being shoved aside by father's testament in favor of the less competent firstborn, and widow Vera, whose priority seems covering for wayward spoiled son Konstantin who resented his absent father for years, inherit company control viz. half of the shares, so everything if they conspire. Thalmann's competitor for Zürich real estate market leadership Conop AG now is awarded a huge contract previously won by Hubert. Borchert is however bothered by the boys' secrecy about their girlfriends, one of which, Saskia Maiser, is found beached-up shortly after in the lake the Thalmann villa stand on.
