- The delicate story of the impossible love between an older married man and a fourteen-year old schoolgirl.
- A little boy loses his magical marble and begins a fantasy-like pursuit on his scooter in order to regain it. He is faced with many obstacles and extreme situations, throughout which he manages to keep on the trail of the precious marble.
- Margot returns to her elderly home and is reminded how her mother was obsessed with keeping the apple yard as well as her daughter at home.
- Margot is in shock after her father has fallen down the stairs with his wheelchair and died. But then she realizes she is finally free from both her parents and begins to build up a life of her own. Godfried decides to buy the apple yard and the house to give it to his granddaughter Lotje when she is old enough. However, Lotje is turning into a destructive and selfish little monster that would have made her grandmother proud.
- When Laurens was captured by the Germans during the war, Charlotte sought refuge with Godfried and became pregnant with a third child, Godfried's son Valentijn. In 1976 Godfried offered René to take over his position as director of a stone factory. Laurens refuses to loan his old rival money, but Charlotte changes his mind after Annelies gives birth their first grandchild.
- Jan is shocked when he learns Margot has promised to take care of her father until he dies. Charlotte introduces Margot to her driving instructor John Bloem in an attempt to get her mind of Jan Blom.
- Jan finally meets the rest of Margot family. Charlotte sets a plan in motion to delay Jan and Margot's trip to Egypt. The workers at the stone factory turn against René to oppose his attempts to modernize the place.
- The entire family gathers together to receive Canadian gifts from Valentijn. Afterwards Laurens confesses his hatred for Charlotte to her face. She then appears to have a change of heart and rehires Hilde in time for Valentijn's birthday dinner. Valentijn invites his biological father, Godfried and his wife as well.
- Margot and Jan finally take their long planned holiday in Egypt. Valentijn makes a pass on Jan's daughter Lucy and takes René to a thinly veiled brothel. Charlotte enjoys a couple of glasses of wine with Laurens but her heart reacts negatively to it and she becomes ill.
- Margot and Jan buy a Blood ruby necklace for Margots mother because she resembles Nefretiti. Charlotte begs Godfried to buy the apple yard after her death and tells her daughter to let Laurens drink himself to death which results in Margot wanting to do the opposite.
- Laurens has vowed never to touch another drop after Charlotte's death. Margot has promised to look after her father till for the rest of his life. Jan decides to break of the engagement with Margot when he realizes she is unable to break this promise.
- Jan has decided to erase Margot from his thoughts and memory completely. Laurens is content having Margot and Hilde to look after him, as well as the company of Hilde's daughter Gina. But Laurens gets reckless, starts drinking again and causes a car accident.
- Charlotte gets so rilled up when she learns about Margots fiancée Jan Blom, that she has a heart attack. Her illness forces Margot to stay with her mother until her recovery and to promise she will look after her father as well.
- Thanks to Hilde, Margot finds out her mother begged her youngest son Valentijn to return from Canada just to thwart Margots engagement to Jan. Charlotte also gets rid of Hilde the housekeeper because Laurens is getting to fond of her.
