- After a horrific car accident takes the lives of his parents and siblings, a young duckling is raised by his considerate uncle to be good and responsible; meanwhile, his schoolmate Dolf slowly becomes seduced by fascism.
- Lisa's parents are separated. Like the title says, her father (supposedly) lives in Rio de Janeiro. She often gets letters from him and dreams of visiting him in South America one fine day. However, this is all a major cover-up: the father is actually in a Dutch jail for a very long time. On top of that, her loving grandfather recently passed away, and there's no chemistry whatsoever with her mom's new boyfriend. Lisa can't take it anymore and runs away from home... to Brazil.
- One of Dirk and Annie's suitcases has been switched with another containing a stack of money. Dirk intends to keep it and tells Linda to keep it safe. But then two men come looking for the case.
