- 'The Pathways Fairy' plunges into a village in Tanzania's countryside to tell the story of Neema, a fourteen-year-old girl who, influenced by the fantasy world of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale - introduced in the storyline by means of a Walt Disney's illustrated book -, experiences her first crush. The conflict starts when Neema is bitten by a tsetse fly and begins to show the symptoms of the Sleeping Sickness, which prevents her from meeting the boy by whom she fell in love, endangering their romance. Because the first symptoms of the disease are very similar to those of the flu the girl's parents do not realize that something serious may be happening to their child. This changes when Neema's mother reveals to her husband a conversation she had with a witchdoctor of the region, which makes him suspect his daughter was cursed. Father and mother differ in their beliefs but, when there's no doubt that their daughter need help, together they chase the resolution of this conflict. The plot ends in a hospital room with the touch of the lips of Neema and the boy she loves. The girl is lying on a stretcher, in coma due to the degeneration of her nervous system - caused by the aggravation of the Sleeping Sickness. Will this kiss awake her like in the fairytale or this is the reality of the sub-Saharan Africa? Unfortunately, there's no charming prince that can save her.
