- DirectorNeil DruckmannBruce StraleyStarsTroy BakerAshley JohnsonHana HayesIn a hostile, post-pandemic world, Joel and Ellie, brought together by desperate circumstances, must rely on each other to survive a brutal journey across what remains of the United States.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterPatric ZimmermanPeter LurieA crack government anti-terrorist squad takes over an obscure Alaskan nuclear disposal facility. Solid Snake is up for the task to infiltrate the facility, rescue the two hostages and thwart the terrorists' plans. The game that made me want to become a game director/designer. Completely broke the barriers of film and video games, and is the ultimate interactive experience. From a gameplay perspective, character perspective, story perspective there is nothing better (IMO).
From it's unique twisting story, to it's incredible game design, to the way the game developed and changed its protagonists and antagonists throughout and sent them on varying and amazing arcs, this game is a masterpiece. - DirectorAmy HennigBruce StraleyStarsNolan NorthEmily RoseClaudia BlackAfter being tracked down by Harry Flynn, Nathan Drake goes on a quest for Marco Polo's lost fleet. However when things take an unexpected turn for the worst, Drake must rely on those closest to him in order to find the Cintomani Stone. This is arguably one of the best paced games ever made, and the best example of a game that not only fully captures the spirit of Indiana Jones at his peak, but even surpasses him.
Yes, Naughty Dog's presentation is only beaten by that of Kojima Productions in this respect. The cut scenes are incredible, the story gripping, the characters perfectly constructed. And the gameplay is varied, fun and incredibly intense and perfectly paced. Also there are things scene here gameplay wise that are so incredible, and are bigger than anything you could have possibly imagined (all the stuff on the train).
Multiplayer wise this game is the best multiplayer game I've ever played. Nothing comes close in terms of the level design. Every level drips with variety and perfection in its design. No load outs either, you find the guns you want to use. It's simple in its set up but executed perfectly by sticking to what made the single player great with the gameplay and just transplanted it to team based modes that are TO THIS DAY, ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER the best multiplayer game on the market.
This game has an incredible single player campaign and a perfect multiplayer mode. This is practically a perfect game. - DirectorDavid JaffeStarsMichael SorichMary FlemingMaria BradyTwisted Metal: Black features 15 psychotic mental patients competing in the Twisted Metal tournament for one wish that will grant them anything they want.Did what David Jaffe always promises, a fun shooter/car combat game that was taken to the next level with massive levels, varied vehicles., incredible weapon design and overall a blast to play from beginning to end.
In addition to that though, Jaffe developed as a storyteller, giving each character a unique backstory that played out over the game through cut scenes that were wonderfully rendered in CG. Dark, twisted and memorable, these cut scenes were brilliantly done in all aspects and added the one thing that Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2 lacked, brilliant storytelling. - DirectorDavid JaffeStarsMel McMurrinJamie BardPeter MaconSecond game in the vehicular combat series, Twisted Metal: a demolition derby to be the last remaining player. Co-operative mode is introduced.A sequel that took everything that made the original good and made it great. From a gameplay perspective, this might be the most fun I've ever had playing a game. The weapons are a blast, the music is great, the cars are all well designed, the levels are outstanding and the overall sheer amount of fun will last for years either by yourself or with a friend.
The only part of TM2 that lacks is the stories. They're fun and cheesy which they're supposed to be, but after seeing Black, they simply don't stand up. They're good in their own right, but not when compared to Black. - DirectorSimon AndrewsRick LeczynskiStarsBob ElliottIn terms of sheer fun in arcade basketball games, I don't think I've had more fun with a sports game than I have with NBA Street. While I like the sequels, street was simple, fun and provided endless hours of 2 player competitions and tournaments for me and my friends. Maybe a little nostalgia is involved as well, but overall this game is a blast to play, and is even better when you have a friend (or friends) to play it with.
- DirectorCory BarlogStarsChristopher JudgeSunny SuljicJeremy DaviesAfter wiping out the gods of Mount Olympus, Kratos moves on to the frigid lands of Scandinavia, where he and his son must embark on an odyssey across a dangerous world of gods and monsters.
- DirectorDavid JaffeGreg TiernanStarsLinda HuntTerrence 'T.C.' CarsonCarole RuggierAfter 10 years of endless nightmares and servitude to the gods of Olympus, Kratos is assigned with a final task, to kill Ares, the God of War.David Jaffe's "epic" game. Redefined hack and slashers by making a larger than life revenge story coupled with uniquely designed puzzles and pristinely polished and incredibly satisfying combat moves. Jaffe took Greek mythology to a whole new level, and man is it satisfying even to this day to fight beasts that are ten times bigger than you, rip apart enemies, and destroy everything in your path to kill the god of war, Aires for his betrayal towards the main character, Kratos.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterSuzetta MiñetJim PiddockEnhanced version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004) with many added features; such as the free range camera, new camouflage outfits, bonus levels and a theater mode.Kojima's epic prequel to the entire Metal Gear universe is a masterpiece that is the blue print for how MGS4 and Peace Walker were designed in terms of their core mechanics. Presenting an epic story, along with throwing the game outdoors (almost completely) presents a great time.
The new way of surviving by eating animals and treating wounds is a great addition and learning about the roots of the Metal Gear saga with its incredible twisting plot that ends in incredible tragedy is Kojima at the top of his game. - DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterJosh KeatonPeter LurieWhen the nations of the world rely upon private military companies to fight their battles for them, renegade Liquid Ocelot emerges as the head of a potent coalition of mercenary powers. Solid Snake returns to save the world once again.Kojima ends his Metal Gear saga in a memorable way from a gameplay and storytelling perspective. Kojima puts Hollywood to shame by composing eight hours of cut scenes that for the most part, push cinematic prowess in games to levels never before dreamed of. From the cinematography, to the emotional power and ride Kojima takes these beloved characters on, this is truly a fan's dream.
He also opens up a lot of new game design techniques that truly gives the player the option to go stealthy or go in with all guns blazing. Actually being able to make a game that can work both ways is incredible and makes it unique. Kojima also tweaks the controls, making them silky fluid and smooth. All the things that Snake can physically do is outstanding, with new CQC moves and sneaking abilities that are very well designed.
Although some of the cutscenes drag on a little bit, there's no denying the overall emotional power of Kojima's vision. - DirectorHidetaka MiyazakiStarsDaniel FineJoe SimsWilliam VanderpuyeA hunter awakens in the plagued lands of Yharnam, where the denizens have succumb to beast hood, in an attempt to learn the truth and how to end the plague, unbeknownst of the true horror lurking within the city.
- StarsDee Bradley BakerJulie BenzHamilton CampAs the alien Covenant invade Earth, the Master Chief must defend humanity's homeworld whilst discovering more about the rings called "Halo."An outstanding pulse pounding campaign that set the standard for shooters. The multiplayer was great and all, but the heart of this game was in its single player. The story was awesome, and the all out firefights on seemingly endless battlefields was awe inspiringly stunning.
- DirectorKen LevineStarsJohn AhlinGreg BaldwinJane BellerIn 1960, a lone survivor of a plane crash named Jack discovers an abandoned underwater utopia, only to find out that the mystery behind its creation is much more sinister than he first believed. An epic FPS with an incredible atmosphere, gameplay mechanics and a truly epic feel that is captured with a brilliant story. The game expands and expands until the very end giving you so many different weapons to utilize against enemies, and stands out as one of the definitive FPS games of this generation.
- DirectorKevin JoelsonSatoshi KomuroBruce StraleyStarsAshley JohnsonYaani King MondscheinTroy BakerFind out what set Ellie on her course to the life changing events in The Last of Us (2013), whilst filling in the gaps during winter with Joel.
- StarsRob WiethoffJosh BlaylockSophia MarzocchiA former outlaw is forced by the federal government to hunt down the members of his old gang.Rockstar's masterpiece. Basically took the mechanics laid out by GTA and refined them to a tee for the wild west. Presenting the tragic story of John Marston along with pulse pounding western action, coupled with its epic and setting, fantastic score, memorable characters creates one spellbinding experience.
The multiplayer is good, if a little predictable, and there are times when the game can drag a bit. But overall, RDR is the definition of an epic western. Sergio Leone would be proud. - DirectorCory BarlogStarsLinda HuntTerrence 'T.C.' CarsonMichael Clarke DuncanAfter being betrayed by the gods of Olympus and annulled of his divine powers, Kratos must embark on a journey to meet the Sisters of Fate and take his revenge on Olympus.

- StarsJill ArringtonTony BrunoJohn MaddenPlay with the best players in the NFL in 2005 with multiple game modes. The best football game. Ever. Yeah, 2K5 was and still is a great game, but Madden surpasses it with the gameplay. But even though it's supposed to be realistic and it is, Madden 05 plays a touch arcadey and revolutionizes how you play defense with the hit stick.
With improved online modes and seemingly perfect football gameplay, Madden 05 is a hell of a sports game. Also has the best franchise mode in a football game ever that easily outshines Madden this gen with owner mode returning, your players having attitudes and a damn sports talk radio show! This game is incredible! - StarsJohn MaddenAl MichaelsRobby RobertsAh, my first Madden game. Revolutionized offense with the playmaker control and like its successor played pretty much to perfection. Also the introduction of the owner mode was amazing and added a nice touch to the game. 04 and 05 are the football games to own. 2K5 is up there as well.
- DirectorEric 'Giz' GewirtzStarsBob BergenChristina RumbleyCorey BurtonPlay as the foot soldier of the galaxy's greatest factions and wage war across countless planets. One of the best games over in terms of fun with an online shooter. Great level design, fun classes and even though there was only one mode, it was enough to keep me and my friends busy for years.
Single player wise, the game is mostly a wash, although it is fun. Still online is so strong that there is very little that the shortcomings of single player can do to detract from this online masterpiece. - StarsBrianne ChandlerRobby RobertsCaptured the essence of what it means to play on Saturday. A game that runs and plays to perfection. In terms of college football games, nothing beats NCAA Football 2004.
