That's less than a month away.Sarah Jessica Parker as a thapist who needs therapy with a platonic male friend. Everyone acts crazy, except for Elle McPherson. Turned it off half-way through.

DATE: 2011-06-26 - DirectorIvan ReitmanStarsRobert RedfordDebra WingerDaryl HannahA New York district attorney works and flirts with his adversary and her kooky artist client, who is on trial for a murder she didn't commit.Robert Redford and Debra Winger are very good. Daryl Hannah is OK. But story is so inane, complex, and hard to keep straight who all the characters are and to understand transitions between scenes, that I've placed it in the bad category.
- DirectorRodrigo GarcíaStarsGlenn CloseCameron DiazCalista FlockhartFive California women struggle with personal problems as their own paths unwind in unexpected ways.
- DirectorPhilip KaufmanStarsNicole KidmanClive OwenDavid StrathairnA drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and World War II correspondent Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway's inspiration for For Whom the Bell Tolls, and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer.I don't know whether the script was poor or if the problem was in the editing. I suspect the former. What's worse, however, is the acting, except for Nicole Kidman (war correspondent Martha Gelhorn) and Anthony Brandon Wong (Chou En-lai, a bit part). The others overacted like like hams.
I'm pretty sure there were also historical inaccuracies. - DirectorF. Gary GrayStarsJohn TravoltaUma ThurmanDwayne JohnsonDisenchanted with the movie industry, Chili Palmer tries the music industry, meeting and romancing a widow of a music executive on the way.Sequel to "Get Shorty" with John Travolta reprising his Chilli Palmer character. Travolta and Uma Thurman reprise their dance duo of "Pulp Fiction," but with dull choreography and no chemistry.
- DirectorDavid MirkinStarsSigourney WeaverJennifer Love HewittGene HackmanA mother and daughter con team seduce and scam wealthy men.I watched this supposed comedy about a mother and daughter con artist team about 40 minutes waiting for one of its comic setups to be the least bit funny before I decided not to waste any more of my evening watching a hopeless film.
Neither Jennifer Love Hewitt nor Sigourney Weaver portrayed their characters in an interesting way. Ray Liotta's character had not been on screen enough up to when I turned it off for me to judge how he did in this turkey. Anne Bancroft was good as the IRS member, and Gene Hackman was good in his role as an old rich geezer with a hacking cough.
Robert Dunn, Paul Guay & Stephen Mazur were listed as the writers, but I suspect the fault lay with either the director, David Mirkin, or the casting directors, Juel Bestrop and Jeanne McCarthy. I noticed in IMDb's Filmography on MIRKIN that he's ONLY directed 3 episodes of the Newhart TV series, 1 of the Simsons, 1 of the Larry Sanders show, a couple of TV series I don't know, and some TV movies. - DirectorJonathan GlazerStarsNicole KidmanCameron BrightLauren BacallA young boy attempts to convince a woman that he is her dead husband reborn. No pleasure in watching this mystery. No emotions other than annoyance that I wasted hours watching it. Too many characters, some of which do mysterious things. The woman who tells her husband or escort that she forgot the ribbon is key but we just see it as another inexplicable element until the end, when everything is explained and becomes mundane. Mis-directed by Jonathan Glazer.
- DirectorCheryl HinesStarsMeg RyanTimothy HuttonKristen BellA high-powered attorney duct tapes her adulterous husband to the toilet ... right before their home is invaded by burglars.Cheryl Hines directing debut? Comic idea (wife tapes husband to toilet to try and regain his love) but looked like drama. Meg Ryan’s stylist did horrible job. Her hairdo (encircling/masking her face) for the first part of the film is very unflattering. Was that supposed to represent her character looking unattractive? She was only 30 in 2009 but she looks at least 20 years older. Timothy Hutton’s acting was uninspired.
- DirectorDavid MirkinStarsMira SorvinoLisa KudrowJaneane GarofaloTwo dim-witted, inseparable friends hit the road for their ten-year high school reunion and concoct an elaborate lie about their lives in order to impress their classmates.Lisa Kudrow (ditsy Michele) and Mira Sorvino (Romy) in mildly funny comedy. Also with little Janeane Garofalo in a Goth-type character.
Because my IMDb account showed I had already rated it 2, I must have watched this sometime in the past; but I didn't recollect any of it even after I watched the whole thing again.
DATE: 2010-06-10 - DirectorBen FalconeStarsMelissa McCarthySusan SarandonKathy BatesAfter getting fired and finding out that her husband is cheating, Tammy hits the road with her profane, alcoholic grandmother. In addition to Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon, cast includes Kathy Bates, Allison Janney, Dan Aykroyd, Toni Collette, and Sandra Oh. The script was written by Melissa McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone. Falcone also directed (he also directed hits such as “Bridesmaids” and “Enough Said.”) So who’s to blame for this chopped up story that is in some parts too spare, leaving the viewer to fill in on something that happened that wasn’t shown in the film, and then over-dwelling another scenes, such as the frolicking in the spray of Niagara Falls. Perhaps the blame goes to the Film Editor, Michael L. Sale. Whatever, this road-trip movie perhaps was meant to parody “Thelma and Louise,” but it really the burger fast food robbery is the only funny scene.
- DirectorBen FalconeStarsMelissa McCarthySusan SarandonKathy BatesAfter getting fired and finding out that her husband is cheating, Tammy hits the road with her profane, alcoholic grandmother. What a waste of comic and acting talent. Melissa McCarth, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Allison Janney, Dan Aykroyd, Toni Collette, & Sandra Oh.
