- StarsJames A. FitzPatrickThis travelogue of rural Sweden begins in the ancient walled town of Visby, located on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. It once held great importance as the gateway between east and west in the commercial trading route. Today, it is known more as a tourist site, highlighting its ancient glories and natural pleasures, and as an artist colony. Moving onto the mainland, the next stop is Gripshold Castle, named after its builder. Many of the residents of the area don old-fashioned, colorful garb and demonstrate a folk dance of the region. The next stop is the community of Skanstull, located just outside of Stockholm. Skanstull may be the epitome of a modern version of ancient Sweden. Many rural Swedes are descendants of the Vikings. - StarsJames A. FitzPatrickFriedl PfeiferVirginia Guernsey HuidekoperAbout an hour's drive from Salt Lake City, Utah is the ski resort of Alta, a former mining town, nestled within the Wasatch Mountains. Skiing and other winter alpine pursuits take place well into mid-spring. The relatively new ski lift is one of the longest in the western US. Some ride the lift not to ski down but to glance at the view from the 1,500 foot summit. Being the end of May, people at nearby Salt Lake are instead enjoying more summerly pursuits, such as boating. Behind only the Dead Sea, it ranks second among all large inland lakes for the saline content at 27%, the buoyancy from which makes it almost impossible to sink in. On shore at Black Rock Beach of the Bonneville Salt Flats is the site of many attempts of land speed records, most records held by Ab Jenkins. Another popular activity in the lake itself is the crystallization of salt around wire forms, the process which requires relatively still water and takes about two hours.Cold movie documentary [distributed by Warner Bros.]

- DirectorRaoul WalshStarsHenry FondaPat PatersonMary BrianProfligate Townsend "Towny" Middleton, once the possessor of $20,000,000, becomes a "millionaire with everything but money." In order to enter his filly "Black Mamba" in the Kentucky Derby, Towny sells his polo horses. At Churchill Downs, Towny meets bankrupt Kentucky colonel Barnaby and his gold digging daughter Sally. During the Derby, Black Mamba's jockey falls off the horse and Towny loses. After the race, creditors try to repossess Black Mamba, but her devoted trainer, Valerie "Boots" O'Connell, steals her and places her on the private train car of Towny's dyspeptic, rich uncle Morton Middleton. On the train, Sally and Towny kiss. Back in Long Island, at Towny's Greenhill Manor, they marry, and Boots's heart is broken. On their honeymoon, Sally spends $12,000 on clothes, believing Towny is still a millionaire. When he scolds her for her extravagance, she throws a tantrum and forces him to concede. Boots's father, who managed the Middleton stables for years, then dies, and Towny shortens the honeymoon to return to Boots. Again Sally cries and Towny buys her a Rolls Royce to appease her. When Boots insists on leaving Greenhill Manor, Towny gives her Black Mamba to prevent creditors from using the filly as collateral against Towny. Towny's valet, Bill, finally tells Sally she's broke, but she is counting on Black Mamba and Uncle Morton's eighty million. Colonel Barnaby then arrives at Greenhill Manor for an indefinite stay. When Sally realizes Towny loves not her, but Boots, she dismisses Towny's staff, including Bill and Boots, and Towny again acquiesces. The sheriff then forecloses on Greenhill Manor, and Boots sells Black Mamba to Uncle Morton in order to help Towny, promising to train the horse for the next Kentucky Derby. Bill gets himself hired as Morton's health advisor and cures Morton's dispositional dyspepsia. When Barnaby and Sally go to Morton for money, Bill bugs their car and Morton overhears them saying they are waiting for him to die. After Morton buys Greenhill Manor and has Barnaby and Towny evicted, Towny becomes determined to get a job. He becomes a famous sports broadcaster and diligently saves his money. In lieu of Towny's success, the Barnabys resurface, but a wiser Towny tricks them into accepting $1,000 for a Reno divorce. Towny then broadcasts Mamba's winning race and proposes to Boots on the air.Sneak preview [distributed by Universal (Dolphins)]
- DirectorCharles VidorStarsAnn DvorakJohn TrentHarry BeresfordAlden "Bill" Carter III sees a beautiful woman, Jerry, dining alone at the Park Savoy in New York, and after a brief flirtation, introduces himself. After he entreats her to be his "mystery woman" to make his girl friend jealous, Jerry agrees to attend a reception that night with him at the Douglas home. This plays right into Jerry's plans, as she is a jewel thief who intends to steal the Douglas jewels with her cohorts, Uncle John and Jeff. That night at the reception, Bill apparently becomes drunk, and Uncle John, posing as a Swedish waiter, steals the necklace from Mrs. Douglas's neck without notice and gives it to Jerry. Jeff, who is posing as a chauffeur, drives Bill and Jerry to a secluded area where he intends to kill Bill, because he thinks that Jerry gave him the jewels. Instead, Bill robs them, takes Jerry's purse, and forces Jeff to strip and unload his arsenal, which includes guns, knives and a hand grenade. Jerry and Jeff are then arrested for indecent exposure, and upon their release, Jeff and Uncle John intend to retrieve the jewels from Bill at his apartment. After Jerry calls Bill to warn him of their arrival, he appears at her apartment because he correctly assumes that she has the jewels, as they were not in her purse. The police, meanwhile, discover that the real Alden Carter III was playing polo in another state at the time of the robbery. Uncle John and Jeff return to the apartment, and discovering Bill and Jerry together, believe they had plans to escape. Bill and Jerry pretend they are in love to play up to their expectations, and Jerry tearfully promises to return the jewels. In order to avoid doing this, however, Bill attracts a policeman's attention by throwing a statuette out of the window, which hits the policeman on the head and prompts him to come into the apartment. Jerry and Bill are arrested and, while pretending they are a married couple for fun, really fall in love. Upon their release they decide to return the jewels to the insurance company for the reward, however, Uncle John and Jeff find them first. Jerry slips the diamonds into Uncle John's pocket just before they are all arrested by police. At police headquarters, both Jerry and Bill are revealed to be insurance investigators working for different companies because Uncle John had stolen jewels from Mrs. Douglas twice before, and had then split the insurance money with her. Mrs. Douglas promises to refund the money, and Uncle John and Jeff are incarcerated. At the Park Savoy, Bill and Jerry flirt again, this time with the intention of becoming newlyweds.Sneak preview [distributed by Universal (Dolphins)]

Shorty decides Popeye needs to play some games, so they play baseball, golf, and hockey in Olive's living room, all ending disastrously for Popeye. Popeye manages to cut a hole in the floor; Shorty falls in, Popeye throws a rug on it, then Olive arrives carrying the cake and falls in. Soon, everyone's in the furnace in the cellar.Cold movie cartoon [distributed by Warner Bros.]

- StarsJames A. FitzPatrickVenezuela was one of the first countries in South America to break away from its Spanish colonial rule, and in spite of it remains one of the most developed countries on the continent. Much of this history is due to the great South American liberator, Simón Bolivar, with many monuments and historic sites dedicated to his memory. The country's Spanish heritage is evident in its culture and in its peoples. This travelogue of Venezuela begins in the port city of La Guaira, one of the stops on Christopher Columbus' new world route. From there, the trip goes on land by motor car over the mountains to the cosmopolitan city of Caracas, capital of the country. From there, the journey heads to the countryside to present the country's vast resources and agriculture, with sugar cane being one of the main crops. The country is dotted with lakes, with Lake Valencia being one of the most well known.Cold movie cartoon [distributed by Warner Bros.]
