Falk proudly presides in the Kupfer home over a party for his pre-teen son Roman's acceptance -possibly arranged by falk- as gymnast in the prestigious state sports school, inviting general Gaucke, who promised him promotion to lieutenant colonel soon and his father's post as deputy if he helps free its, while Hans counts on his party top protector. Dunja Hausmann comes and sings one of her forbidden political songs, yet Hans refuses, thus bringing his wife to hysteria, to silence his mistress.

Falk must lean on Vera, who became Robert's lover and follower, with torn loyalty given the family, unable to leave Falk, and agrees adopting Sonja and passes only seemingly meaningless information, which however suffices for Falk to press Nicole's cripple teen son to betray the illegal printing location, in the vicarage, where he accidentally witnesses Vera's adultery.

Martin learns who are and discretely observes Anna's loving adoptive family in Weißensee.

Vera Kupfer and Treuhand boss become a couple, until she overhears him discuss with Falk dirty tricks. To Martin's horror, Western investor Breger cashed in the entire holding account, leaving the furniture factory bankrupt and Martin, Rita and Hüne personally liable for huge debts.

Major Rothals is back in Berlin to insist Falk stops the truth disclosure, he decides after another night with Petra.
