I hate the red hulk monsters in the end. - DirectorStephen SommersStarsHugh JackmanKate BeckinsaleRichard RoxburghThe famed monster hunter is sent to Transylvania to stop Count Dracula, who is using Dr. Frankenstein's research and a werewolf for nefarious purposes.Really cool to see vampires flying in the sky like demon bats.
It stars Kate Beckinsale! Her Underworld is a classic. But Van Helsing is mediocre.
First, I don't like the PG-13 classification. A vampire movie needs to have more blood in it.
I also don't like how Jekyll and Hyde, the Frankenstein's Monster are portrayed in this movie. They seem so shallow.
Yes, Stephen Sommers made a popcorn movie. I shouldn't expect something as deep and amazing as Eva Green's Penny Dreadful. - DirectorRichard BrandesStarsKevin DillonVanessa AngelJodi Lyn O'KeefeA police detective is investigating some mysterious disappearances and uncovers a horrible truth.Lance Henriksen is great. The vampire creature design looks not so pretty, like the one from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy are amazing.
Sadly, the prequel is mediocre. Not because Kate Beckinsale didn't star in it.
The problem lies in the story itself. There is no good storytelling. The love between the original Romeo and Juliet came too abruptly. As a result, I don't care for any of the characters.
The flashback in the original movie lasted for only 55 seconds, but it was way more POWERFUL than the entire 92-minute prequel movie.
Even as a vampire movie expert and a diehard Underworld fan, I generally skip the prequel, and only watch Underworld 1, 2, 4, and 5. - DirectorGriff FurstStarsMark DacascosYancy ButlerRhett GilesIn 1887, the powerful vampire Lilith is vanquished by a vampire council and four amulets avoid her return to the world of living.
