The story begins with the inventor of the world's first electronic instrument, Leon Theremin, unveiling the KGB's huge pile of fascinating devices, some of which were musical. They all came into existence as a by-product of a rampant defense industry. Nowadays, those aged and abandoned 'musical coffins', as solidly made as a Kalashnikov, are being recycled and reinterpreted by the post-Soviet generations of musicians, sound collectors and circuit benders. - DirectorZuzanna SolakiewiczStarsEugeniusz RudnikEugeniusz Rudnik revolutionized the idea of music itself with a pair of scissors and a magnetic tape. As part of the legendary Experimental Studio of Polish Radio, he revealed hidden value in rough and rejected sounds long before the rise of the DJs. In an era of electronic music created in a workshop resembling a scientific lab, he composed music to reach and to portray other human beings. '15 Corners of the World' is an attempt to hear the vision of his music. Following the rhythms of architecture, the human body, and the throbbing pulse of nature we discover a new reality. We touch the sound. Moving images reveal a miracle that emerged in the age of tape recorders and disappeared with the advent of computers. They express the wonder of the analogue era - the urge to experiment, to discover new territory, explore the borderlands, and constantly search for new means of expression.

The Internet and digital technology, accessible to everyone, reshaped the music industry completely. The significance of record labels which controlled mainstream music has changed and decayed. For genres building themselves up from the bottom, success was once unimaginable without a record label and money. As of today, thanks to the digital revolution, it can easily be done. The possibility of doing worldwide self-management and creating quality content becoming available to everyone has opened the way from the streets to the biggest stages. The Internet didn't just give artists a chance to get their work to everyone; it also gave the audience a chance to find anything. Today we can't just consume what is served to us by the mainstream media. It's up to us if we look for something that is valuable to us or if we just satisfy ourselves with something we are handed. We have to uncover the joy of discovery. People have always felt the rhythm of music and have as a result evolved countless dance styles throughout the ages. Beginning in the late 80's in Melbourne's underground dance music party scene, a revolutionary freestyle dance began to grow and has now developed into the most unique and robust underground dance style since the birth of Breakdancing. The Melbourne Shuffle has no set steps but encourages individuality and imagination, incorporating dance moves from numerous styles such as miming, popping & locking, liquid and breaking. But the basis of the Melbourne Shuffle has traditionally been the footwork either performed sliding left to right, on the spot or in a triangular movement, but is evolving everyday. - DirectorMilton Ramirez-MalaveStarsHugo CruzJorge Martinez-PiconMilton Ramirez-MalaveIs it art? Is it music? It could be described as an arts collective or an experimental music group, but in reality, what is it? With the help of more than 200 hours of footage compiled from its inception in the year 2000 until today and interviews with fans, collaborators and contributors, this documentary, the first of its kind about this enigmatic group, will try to answer the question: What is Matotumba?, documenting their career in the world of art and experimental music in Puerto Rico for more than a decade. Matotumba (MTTMB) is an electronic music group formed in the year 2000 by a collective of visual artists from Puerto Rico. It's mostly known for its experimental music proposal and the inclusion of visual-art at their live shows. Currently the group's line-up is composed of Jorge Martínez Picón, Milton Ramírez Malavé and Héctor Román and often collaborating with fellow experimental artists such as Robin Alicea and Jose Vega (Shhh, PPRSS), Ariel Hernández (Similar, Introdujos), among others. Along with the psychedelic rock band, Psiconautas, are part of the shoegazing / noise / experimental group, 'The Alliance' or AEI (Intergalactic Exploration Alliance). It's not an easy task to assign a genre to Matotumba's musical style since it's very evolutive. In the beginning, their approach to experimental music was based on improvisation with strong tribal roots and over time, it leaned more towards rock and electronica. Over the course of a decade they have managed to compile an extensive discography and videography as well as producing the documentary ¿matotumba? which chronicles their trajectory from its inception to the present. Matotumba has presented their audio / visual projects in Radio and TV; art galleries, museums and countless music, theater and film festivals; spanning the entire island of Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Italy and the United States.
