The episode aired only once in Japan and as a result of the disaster, the show went on a four-month hiatus and the Pokemon featured in the episode, Porygon, has not made appearances in the Pokemon anime aside from cameos. The same goes for Porygon's two evolutions Porygon2 and Porygon-Z who only appeared in the opening of the fifteenth movie Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice.

In addition, since the episode was supposed to follow the banned Porygon episode, it was released a year later instead causing continuity errors in the anime such as Ash using his Charmander instead of his Charizard and Misty still having her Starmie and Horsea (and not yet having her Togepi).

This cartoon was featured on The Golden Age of Looney Tunes LaserDisc collection and on the Bugs Bunny by Each Director VHS, but had to be recalled due to an outcry from Japanese groups. It was later replaced with the cartoon "Racketeer Rabbit" during future releases on LaserDisc and on VHS.
