- DirectorNeasa HardimanStarsHermione CorfieldDag MalmbergJack HickeyThe crew of a West of Ireland trawler, marooned at sea, struggle for their lives against a growing parasite in their water supply.A neat idea, very few scenes of good gore, but it could have been sooo much better.
- DirectorCarter SmithStarsScott EvansAdam FaisonLukas GageMidnight Kiss follows a group of longtime gay best friends and their straight female bestie as they head to a beautiful desert home to celebrate New Year's Eve. One of their annual traditions is to play a game called Midnight Kiss, a sexy but ultimately dangerous challenge to find that special someone to help you ring in the New Year. As friendships have grown strained with secrets, jealousy and resentment, the group faces another challenge when a sadistic killer wants in on the game. Relationships are put to the test and truths are revealed as the night turns into a fight for survival.Atrocius acting, horrible plot, laughable direction, and shockful of annoying stereotypes.
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattChukwudi IwujiBradley CooperStill reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful. We all know the story: James Gunn was fired from Marvel over some old tweets, people whined, GotG cast threatened to force Marvel to let get them released from their contracts if Gunn didn't come back, etc., with some of them even saying that Gunn had planned the perfect end to the trilogy, so Gunn was brought back ...
For what?
THIS??
GotG vol. 3 is NOT a good movie. It's unfocused, there's not really a story. Nebula who had an awesome arc in Infinity War and Endgame didn't do much here but scream and yell at people.
We were promised spectacle and heartbreak. It delivered on none of that.
Star-Lord will be back, they say. I hope to heck Gunn is gone for good. - DirectorGareth TunleyStarsTom MeetenAlice LoweRufus JonesA homicide detective goes undercover as a patient to investigate a psychotherapist he believes is linked to a strange double murder. As his therapy sessions continue the line between fantasy and reality begins to blur. Some nice ideas, good acting, but ultimately it seemed like the writer/director didn't know where to go with it. He tried to be Lovecraftian/Cronenbergian in his approach, but didn't quite grasp it.
- CreatorTeys SchucanyStarsJonathan Meinert PedersenJacob Spang OlsenOliver TikotzkiThe socially awkward Lau goes on the traditional Man Camp with the provincial town boys to prove that he's a "real man". But, things get tricky when he develops feelings for another boy on the trip.Boring and stupid acting.
- DirectorLee CroninStarsMirabai PeaseRichard CrouchleyAnna-Maree ThomasA twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable. It was energetic. That's about the only good thing there is to say about it.
The gore, while well done, didn't elicit much more than a shrug. Sadly, that also goes for the grater scene from the trailer, which I expected would be the real OOOOUCH moment.
No tension, no fear, no scares.
A lot of weird choices storywise.
A pregnancy subplot that goes nowhere, and is just there, and I couldn't help but think that it was only there, because some men don't have an inkling about writing women without there being some "mother" thing going on.
I liked Lee Cronin's first movie, The Hole in the Ground, but maybe he should stay away from horror that demands more action. - DirectorM. Night ShyamalanStarsDave BautistaJonathan GroffBen AldridgeWhile vacationing, a girl and her parents are taken hostage by armed strangers who demand that the family make a choice to avert the apocalypse. For a book to movie-adaption it was pretty faithful - up till, of course, the ending. The book's ending was apparently too much for the film studio (it IS brutal), so they decided to go the schmaltzy way.
- DirectorAndré TéchinéStarsÉlodie BouchezGaël MorelStéphane RideauThe fates of two partners are divided.Extremely unfocused.
- DirectorKyle Edward BallStarsLucas PaulDali Rose TetreaultRoss PaulTwo children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.Good concept, not so good execution. There's a scary short movie hidden somewhere in this movie, but with a 100 minutes runtime it overstays its welcome waaay too much. Literally nothing happens for the first 35 minutes, and after that it's few and far between for the creepy bits. Some call it the scariest movie ever, but they're wrong
- DirectorMichael A. SimpsonStarsPamela SpringsteenRenée EstevezTony HigginsA sex-changed slasher returns as a camp counselor. What an absolute freaking crapfest.
- DirectorTimo VuorensolaStarsGary GrahamDee WallaceTimo VuorensolaForced to travel with her boyfriend, Laine begins to experience premonitions associated with the urban myth of The Creeper. She believes that something supernatural has been summoned - and that she is at the center of it all.I knew it would be bad, but just needed something to switch my brain off to. Boy, did it succeed. My brain may never be turned on again. Trash!
- DirectorCecil LairdStarsMiko HughesDave McRaeCynthia KaniaDylan's New Nightmare acts as an unofficial sequel to Wes Craven's: A New Nightmare, one of the most unique and high concept installments to the Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise. This short film picks up 25 years after the events of New Nightmare and follows Dylan Porter (Miko Hughes), the young son of Heather Langenkamp, now a grown man trying to make his way in the world his parents raised him in-Hollywood. Little does he know that the evil entity known as Freddy Krueger is back, and eager to once again break into our world through the son of his favorite victim.Didn't really hit the mark.
- DirectorGerard JohnstoneStarsAllison WilliamsViolet McGrawRonny ChiengA robotics engineer at a toy company builds a life-like doll that begins to take on a life of its own.Trailer promised me a horror movie. Trailer lied.
- DirectorMicah GalloStarsBruce DavisonElizabeth RobertsDenise CrosbyBased on the centuries old poem, a family moves into a secluded mansion where they soon find themselves being targeted by an entity taking the form of a giant spider.Cool, practical effects, but unless you're an arachnophobe, there's nothing really worthwhile.
- CreatorDave FiloniStarsRosario DawsonDavid TennantNatasha Liu BordizzoAfter the fall of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. What an effing drag.
- DirectorKevin KoStarsHsuan-yen TsaiSin-Ting HuangYing-Hsuan KaoSix years ago, Li Ronan was cursed after breaking a religious taboo. Now, she must protect her daughter from the consequences of her actions.I love found footage-horror, but the format is at its best when it clocks in at around 80 minutes. At 110 minutes it was waaaay to long, with too little to keep your interest.
