Director: Roger Donaldson | Stars: Pierce Brosnan, Luke Bracey, Olga Kurylenko, Bill Smitrovich
Votes: 70,548 | Gross: $24.98M
Weak script but good acting - semi-entertaining yet hollow movie (Dollar Store)

Director: Jared Hess | Stars: Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Ross Kimball
Votes: 59,403 | Gross: $17.37M
Funny and dumb, worth a watch but maybe not the rewatch. (Dollar Store) *watched before 12/15 but listed so I don’t forget*

Watched 20 minutes. Could tell I wasn’t going to enjoy the “always a million miles away” storylines. (Dollar Store)
4. Distorted (I) (2018)

Director: Rob W. King | Stars: Christina Ricci, Brendan Fletcher, Vicellous Shannon, John Cusack
Votes: 8,422
Ricci did a great job, Cusack did good, and I like the other main dude. Good concept, worked out a bit cliche though. Could have been deeper and more cohesive, but not a bad story overall. Creative shots and angles, but not a fan of the “subliminal messaging” moments and how they were edited. Lots of unnecessary flashing. (Dollar Store)
5. This Thing of Ours (2002)
Not Rated | 100 min | Crime, Drama
Using the Internet and global satellites, a group of gangsters pull off the biggest bank heist in the Mafia's history.

Votes: 832
Found on a 10-in-1 $1 DVD and full of great stars. Well written and shot. Aside from a few funny moments that come with low budget movies (lines that could have been redone, silly blood effects), definitely worth a watch or two. (Dollar Store)
6. Idiocracy (2006)

Classic. Watching to knock off Vudu purchases.

Votes: 124,455 | Gross: $24.45M
Funny and entertaining for a while, but begins to lose focus and roll on. Some characters were rough. Enjoyable cast though. (Dollar Store)

Directors: Josh Gordon, Will Speck | Stars: Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn, T.J. Miller, Jennifer Aniston
Votes: 88,199 | Gross: $54.77M
Saw about 80% of the movie on TV. Great cast, funny moments, but could have had a better story and been funnier. May have enjoyed it more if I saw the beginning, but even without the first 20 minutes, the story is pretty easy to decipher. Might have to rewatch to get a better idea of the movie though.
10. Rock Dog (2016)

When a radio falls from the sky into the hands of a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff, he leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events.
Director: Ash Brannon | Stars: Luke Wilson, Eddie Izzard, J.K. Simmons, Lewis Black
Votes: 5,993 | Gross: $9.42M
Fun but generic kids movie. Good moments and soundtrack, but could have used more music in the story, as well as more importance to music. Felt a bit rushed and the voice acting could have used a few more takes. Featured a Radiohead song though! Not bad for a non-Disney/Nick/CN kids movie.
11. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015)
R | 88 min | Horror, Mystery
Using a special camera that can see spirits, a family must protect their daughter from an evil entity with a sinister plan.

Votes: 30,670 | Gross: $18.30M
Part of rewatching the series for the new one. Not my favorite in the series but probably the most action packed.

Director: William Eubank | Stars: Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, Jaye Ayres-Brown
Votes: 16,626
After many delays, finally got to see this one. While the core elements are there (found footage, witchcraft connection), this one felt vastly different than the other five. I’m not sure that’s a good thing, but it isn’t necessarily bad. The highly HD cameras and slow motion shots felt out of place for a PA movie, but it’s probably realistic to how the footage quality would have changed from 2008. The story felt a little all over the place and shallow, disconnected from the series. The acting was solid though and I liked the characters. Not my favorite PA, but I will most likely revisit for the 2023 movie.

Interesting twist on the characters. Fun to watch. Curious to see how the next part goes.
14.
South Park (1997– )
Episode:

(2021)

If Stan, Kyle and Cartman could just work together, they could go back in time to make sure Covid never happened and save Kenny's life. Traveling back to the past seems to be the easy answer until they meet Victor Chaos.
Director: Trey Parker | Stars: Trey Parker, Matt Stone, April Stewart, Kimberly Brooks
Votes: 7,585
I liked this one a tiny bit less than the last but they’re definitely an entertaining duo of episodes.
15. Ice Cream Man (1995)
R | 86 min | Comedy, Horror, Thriller

Director: Norman Apstein | Stars: Clint Howard, Justin Isfeld, Anndi McAfee, JoJo Adams
Votes: 4,869
Watched as part of Joe Bob Ruins Christmas. Definitely a so-bad-it’s-good with a bunch of famous stars from the 80/90s. Fun but sloppy. Terrible 80s acting and editing. No logic. All in all, a good time and fun to watch with Joe Bob and his crew (devoid of a few awkward rants).
16. Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021–2022)
TV-MA | 45 min | Comedy, Drama
A look at the secret life of a sitcom wife.
Stars: Annie Murphy, Raymond Lee, Eric Petersen, Mary Hollis Inboden

Watched season one - loved every episode! Such a dynamic, interesting show. Switches between King of Queens and Good Girls in an instant. Can’t wait for the second season to be released.
17. Licorice Pizza (2021)
R | 133 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance
The story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine growing up, running around and going through the treacherous navigation of first love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973.
Director: Paul Thomas Anderson | Stars: Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, Sean Penn, Tom Waits
Votes: 140,238
Beautiful cinematography, solid acting by everyone, stellar cast, incredible soundtrack and score (Johnny G!), but man, nothing really happens. The plot doesn’t feel super connected, doesn’t really have a decent flow, and it’s hard to care for the characters deeply. Many small ideas are dropped in as aesthetic (sexual harassment, racism) but don’t really add to the story outside of time and place. Fun to watch if you don’t expect deep emotional connection (purely from the construction of the story). Hoffman killed it for a first role, or really just in general, and I can’t wait to see the Haims in more movies.
18. Sisters (III) (2015)
R | 118 min | Comedy
Two sisters decide to throw one last house party before their parents sell their family home.
Director: Jason Moore | Stars: Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz
Votes: 69,333 | Gross: $87.04M
Seen this one a few times. Pretty funny but generic movie. Enjoyable moments and awesome cast. Worth a watch every once in a while.
19. Rope (1948)
Approved | 80 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery
Two men attempt to prove they committed the perfect crime by hosting a dinner party after strangling their former classmate to death.
Director: Alfred Hitchcock | Stars: James Stewart, John Dall, Farley Granger, Dick Hogan
Votes: 153,599
Incredible movie for the time. Acting was superb and set was impeccable. Fantastic cinematography, of course. All around great movie. Script was interesting and story flowed well. Could have used a bit more out of the story, but I blame that on the following 70-odd years of movies raising my expectations. Would watch again.
20. Wishmaster (1997)
R | 90 min | Fantasy, Horror
A demonic djinn attempts to grant its owner three wishes, which will allow him to summon his brethren to Earth.
Director: Robert Kurtzman | Stars: Tammy Lauren, Andrew Divoff, Angus Scrimm, Ari Barak
Votes: 25,396 | Gross: $15.72M
I don’t think I’m super into corn-syrupy creature features. I can appreciate the creativity and talent that goes into this film, from writing to acting to production, but the whole so-grotesque-you-can’t-look-away thing just doesn’t do it for me. The script is mostly solid with a bit of wonkiness and cheese, but I dug the story and the dialogue. I could do without things like one dude’s innards acting another dude or jaws ripping off, but I may even feel differently had I known walking in. Maybe I’ll need to rewatch, maybe I’m good.
21. Stir of Echoes (1999)

Votes: 87,485 | Gross: $21.13M
Great plot, twists and turns. Fantastic acting from a great cast. Fun combination of thriller, mystery, and paranormal. A couple funny FX choices but overall, impressive movie from the turn of the millennium. Definitely rewatchable, even if to just look for clues.

Votes: 279,370
Visually impressive, awesome cast, great callbacks but the story was lackluster and felt unnecessary. Also, I could do without the human bomb scene and the WB self-aware meta dialogue.
