Given her one-of-a-kind awards resume and irrefutable status as an acting legend, it’s no wonder Meryl Streep is widely expected to be honored at this year’s Emmys for her work on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” Taking the gold for her first regular comedy series role would be impressive enough, but the noteworthiness of her win would extend far beyond that. Having joined her show in its third season, she would be only the 10th non-original comedy series cast member to ever pull off a lead or supporting Emmy victory.
Not including sketch performers, Streep would be said winners club’s first new entrant in over three decades. The last was Kirstie Alley, who replaced Shelley Long as the female lead of “Cheers” at the start of season six and prevailed on her third Emmy bid in 1991. Justin Bieber recently sparked concern online from fans. So, what happened with him that had so many worried about him?
Fans Have Been Worried About Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber was thrust onto the world stage at a young age. Despite his success, it’s often a lot for a young person to deal with. You see it a lot with child actors and other child stars. Later in life, they either shun the spotlight altogether, or, they turn to various vices to cope.
Various clips on TikTok recently went viral, showing a drunk Justin Bieber performing a live rendition of Stay with The Kid Laroi. Many viewers commented on how this was the best version of the song, and how Justin “killed it” with his performance even while visibly intoxicated. However, others have also expressed concern for the singer for some time.

Remaking a 2002 Hong Kong hit and setting the story in Irish-Catholic Boston, Martin Scorsese seemed to be out of his element with The Departed—if not, that is, for the fact that the film marked a return to the director’s bread-and-butter mean streets, and that his source material, Wai Keung Lau and Siu Fai Mak’s Infernal Affairs, was itself heavily influenced by his iconic gangster films. Something of a genre homecoming after recent detours into the arenas of the historical epic (Gangs of New York) and the period biopic (The Aviator), The Departed again found him trawling a gritty, brutal urban underbelly where racial epithets spit from roughnecks’ mouths, class divisions are as sharp as a switchblade, and allegiances to others and one’s self are always tenuous at best.

Megan Thee Stallion’s former personal cameraman is taking the Grammy winner and Mean Girls actress and Roc Nation to court for creating an “intolerable” and “hostile abusive work environment.”
In a nine-claim complaint filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Emilio Garcia is accusing Megan Pete (Thee Stallion’s real name), her own company, her Hot Girl Touring and the Jay-Z founded entertainment platform of underpaying him, misclassifying him and causing “severe emotional distress and anxiety” due to overwork almost since the moment he started working for the “Plan” B singer in July 2018 (read the whole complaint here).
In particular, it seems an alleged explicit incident in the back of a moving car almost two years ago that proved the final straw – for all concerned:

Alec Baldwin seemingly slapped someone’s phone out of their hand after they kept trying to get him to say “Free Palestine.”
A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night sees a person go up to Baldwin at a New York City coffee shop.
The nearly one-minute video, posted on an account with the name “Crackhead Barney & Friends,” begins with the person asking him to say “Free Palestine.” The person then goes on to address Baldwin’s ongoing involuntary manslaughter case, following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust set.
“Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady, got no jail time,” the user continues. “No jail time Alec. You’re putting innocent people in jail, Alec Baldwin. Free Palestine Alec. Just one time, and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone. I swear.”

Alec Baldwin’s lawyers alleged a “stunning abuse of prosecutorial power” in the “Rust” case on Tuesday, arguing that a favorable plea offer was withdrawn last fall due to a misunderstanding about Baldwin’s role in a documentary about the case.
Baldwin is facing a trial in July in Santa Fe, N.M., on a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
Last October, prosecutors offered him a misdemeanor plea that would carry no jail time. But prosecutor Kari Morrissey said in a recent filing that she rescinded that offer after learning that Baldwin had “commissioned his own documentary” about Hutchins’ death, and was pressuring witnesses in the case to participate.
Concerned that Baldwin’s conduct would cause ongoing harm the victims and their families, she withdraw the offer and decided to seek a felony indictment.

Though it’s been more than 35 years since Beetlejuice was released in cinemas, the time hasn’t managed to put the story to its end.
A sequel for Tim Burton’s comedy horror is making its way back to the screens this year, accompanied by already familiar faces from the original movie as well as by new characters portrayed by Hollywood’s biggest stars at the moment.
Despite the famous story’s life going on, the time still didn’t manage to save some other iconic characters — and, according to Beetlejuice’s actress, it’s the main reason why they didn’t get to appear in the upcoming sequel.
The news that keeps coming in regarding Beetlejuice 2’s casting and plot details clearly suggest that the sequel won’t feature the characters whose appearance actually marked the very beginning of the story.
As many may recall it, Beetlejuice opens...

“The Sopranos” fans got thrown a curveball in 2021 when Edie Falco revealed for the first time on an Atlantic podcast that she once reunited with James Gandolfini to reprise Tony and Carmela Soprano for a bizarre clip set two years after the events of the series finale, which infamously ended with a cut-to-black that left Tony’s fate in the balance. The purpose of the clip was to help the New York Knicks basketball organization lure LeBron James to the team.
Gandolfini and Falco shot the “Sopranos” reunion in 2010 as James was becoming a free agent after his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers expired. All of the top teams in the NBA wanted James, and the Knicks came up with the idea to make a short film with “The Sopranos” stars to help sell James on the Big Apple. A long-rumored video of James Gandolfini reprising his Emmy-winning role of Tony Soprano has been unearthed.
The footage (below) has Gandolfini and his co-star Edie Falco back in their roles as The Sopranos power couple Tony and Carmela.
The clip was privately produced in 2010 — three years after the HBO drama’s finale — in an effort to lure LeBron James to the New York Knicks.
The scene takes place “Two Years Later,” following the end of the show. “Yeah, life’s good here Carm, even if we are in the witness protection program,” Tony says to his wife. Then, they discussed the possibility of James moving to New York and finding him the perfect home: Madison Square Garden. The video was obtained by former ESPN host Pablo Torre and aired on his Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast. The scene starts at the 9:30-minute mark.

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is heading to prison after getting sentenced to 18 months behind bars for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
“You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon,” Judge Mary Marlow Sommer said to Gutierrez-Reed in her sentencing Monday after shutting down defense pleas for probation and counseling. “But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner and a little boy would have his mother.” The 18-month sentence is the maximum penalty a criminal can receive under New Mexico law.

Chalking her actions up to being “young and naive,” she disapproves of the media painting her as a monster in this scenario. “I beg you please don’t give me more time,” Gutierrez-Reed pleaded to the court before sentencing. “The jury...

As Alec Baldwin awaits his July trial date for involuntary manslaughter charges on the rest of Rust, the case against him continues to build. The case stems from the tragedy of the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed by a prop gun fired by Baldwin.
While Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty in the Rust case, the prosecution is pressing forward that there was more involved than just gunfire that should contribute to a guilty verdict. According to prosecutor Kari Morrissey, reckless behavior and disregard ultimately led to that moment in which the 42-year-old Hutchins died. “To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of Rust is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him. Witnesses have testified that it was this exact conduct that contributed to safety compromises on set.

“Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, the maximum penalty she could receive for the involuntary manslaughter charge.
Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced in New Mexico on April 15 after first being convicted of involuntary manslaughter back on March 6 and has been remanded into custody ever since. She was acquitted on a charge of evidence tampering. She intends to appeal her conviction, but Santa Fe judge Mary Sommer last month declined a motion for her to be released while she appeals.
In a brief statement before she was sentenced, Gutierrez-Reed told the courtroom, “I beg you please don’t give me more time,” saying that her “heart aches” for Hutchins’ family and that she was “young and naive” but took her job seriously while on set.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was the armorer on the set of Rust at the time of an accidental shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
Gutierrez-Reed was convicted by a 12-person jury on March 6th, after less than three hours of deliberation. In a split verdict, Gutierrez-Reed was acquitted of separate charges of evidence tampering.
The charges against Gutierrez-Reed stemmed from the accidental shooting of Hutchins on the set of the western Rust in October 2021. Actor/producer Alec Baldwin was handling the gun when it accidentally fired, hitting Hutchins in the stomach and director Joel Souza in the shoulder; Hutchins died after being transported to the hospital.
During the trial, Gutierrez-Reed’s defense claimed she was being treated as a “convenient scapegoat” by “higher-ups” involved in Rust, including Baldwin and other producers, and cited an Osha ruling that she...

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, 26, was convicted in March of involuntary manslaughter, after a jury found that her negligence caused the death of Halyna Hutchins.
Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer said that Gutierrez Reed had not shown any remorse.
“You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon,” the judge said. “But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner, and a little boy would have his mother.”
Before issuing the sentence, the judge heard from Hutchins’ relatives and friends, from her agent, and from “Rust” director Joel Souza, who was struck in the shoulder by the bullet that killed her.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the Rust armorer who loaded the live round into the gun Alec Baldwin was holding when it discharged and killed the film’s cinematographer, will serve 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
The decision from Santa Fe judge Mary Sommer, delivered on Monday, comes after a jury found Gutierrez-Reed guilty, making her the first crewmember to be convicted for her role in the accidental shooting death of Halyna Hutchins.
Involuntary manslaughter charges in New Mexico carry a maximum sentence of 18 months and a fine of up to $5,000. Prosecutors sought the upper limit of the term. Gutierrez-Reed has been at the Santa Fe Adult Detention Facility since March, when she was determined to be liable of involuntary manslaughter but not evidence tampering charges. Last month, Sommer declined to allow a new trial and denied a motion for the armorer to be released while she appeals her conviction.

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced just now to 18 months behind bars over the October 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Santa Fe set of the indie Western starring Alec Baldwin.
“You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon,” said Judge Mary Marlow Sommer in her sentencing Monday after rejecting defense pleas for probation and counseling. “But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive, a husband would have his partner and a little boy would have his mother.”
The sentence in a state prison was the maximum that Gutierrez-Reed could receive under New Mexico law.
Exclaiming that her “heart aches” for what happened on Rust and the death of Hutchins, Gutierrez-Reed earlier called herself “young and naive,” chastised the media for portraying her as a “complete monster” and told the court how she had been overworked and under-resourced on the film.

The “Rust” shooting case is still ongoing. After a series of investigations concerning the infamous shooting that happened on Oct. 21, 2021, during the filming of Alec Baldwin’s movie “Rust” at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, prosecutors have come up with a new set of arguments.
According to an April 8 court filing which was obtained by People, prosecutors are arguing that while on set, the movie’s executive producer wasn’t the best person to work with as he was always flaring up and lashing out at the crew.
In their words, Baldwin had “absolutely no control of his own emotions.” They also shared that before the unfortunate incident took place, Baldwin was “frequently screaming and cursing.”
This new development came after Baldwin’s legal team filed a motion last month to overthrow the charges against him that were re-filed back in January in an indictment from a New Mexico grand jury.

Gutierrez Reed was convicted last month of involuntary manslaughter for loading a live bullet into Alec Baldwin’s gun, leading to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. She is due to be sentenced on Monday in a Santa Fe, N.M. courtroom.
In the filing, prosecutor Kari Morrissey asked that she be sentenced to the maximum — 18 months — and said that the recorded calls show her lack of contrition.
“Ms. Gutierrez continues to deny responsibility and blame others,” Morrissey wrote.
The prosecutor provided a summary of the calls, in which Gutierrez Reed spoke with her mother, her boyfriend and a defense paralegal.

Eleanor Coppola, wife of Francis Ford Coppola, has died at the age of 87. She is best known for Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse, the 1991 documentary which chronicled the making of Apocalypse Now, the iconic 1979 movie which was plagued with a myriad of issues.
Eleanor first met her future husband on the set of Dementia 13, which was Francis’ feature directorial debut. Eleanor was the assistant art director on the movie and the pair soon began dating before getting married in 1963. Each of their children, Gian-Carlo, Roman, and Sofia, would get into the movie business after spending their childhood years growing up on film sets, although Gian-Carlo sadly died in 1986 at the age of 22.

Eleanor Coppola, Emmy-Winning Director of ‘Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse,’ Dies at 87
Eleanor Coppola, the matriarch of a Hollywood dynasty who won an Emmy for directing the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse and helmed her first narrative feature at age 80, died Friday. She was 87.
Coppola died at her home in Rutherford, California, her family said in a statement to the Associated Press.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, five-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, 85; their daughter, Sofia Coppola, the director, producer and Oscar-winning screenwriter; and their son, Roman Coppola, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter.
Her oldest child, actor Gian-Carlo Coppola, died in 1986 at age 22 in a speedboat accident.
Eleanor Coppola often went on location with Francis, and during the making of his Vietnam War epic Apocalypse Now (1979), she was in the Philippines to shoot footage with a 16mm camera and conduct interviews, material that supposedly was to be used by the United Artists publicity department.
It would all be seen in Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse.

GoFundMe has shut down the fundraiser that Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed‘s family started to help pay for the cost of an appeal because it violated the company’s rules against raising money for “the legal defense of alleged financial and violent crimes.”
The family had launched the fundraiser ahead of Gutierrez-Reed’s scheduled sentencing for involuntary manslaughter on April 15. The 26-year-old Arizona woman faces up to 18 months in prison for her role in the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the low-budget Western. Gutierrez-Reed has been in custody since the Santa Fe jury’s verdict was read March 6.
During her trial, Gutierrez-Reed was represented pro bono by New Mexico attorney Jason Bowles. The GoFundMe, begun by her father, longtime entertainment industry armorer Thell Reed, asked donors to contribute to appeals expenses, with a fundraising goal of $100,000.

Special prosecutors in New Mexico have put forth a new legal filing that asserts that actor Alec Baldwin‘s behavior on the movie set of Rust played a role in safety compromises that ultimately led to the tragic shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.
The prosecution team submitted the filing on Friday in response to a motion filed by Baldwin’s legal team in March to dismiss the charges against the actor.
According to the response, prosecutors contend that Baldwin has provided inconsistent accounts of the shooting incident and had “absolutely no control of his own emotions” while on set. The filing further states that in his initial days of filming, Baldwin demanded an accelerated pace from the crew and armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed, which resulted in a “relentless rushing of the crew” and a routine compromise of safety measures.

Attorneys for “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed asked on Wednesday that she be sentenced to probation for her role in the accidental death of the film’s cinematographer.
Gutierrez Reed is due to be sentenced on Monday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for negligently loading a live bullet into Alec Baldwin’s gun. She faces a maximum of 18 months in prison.
In a memo to the court on Wednesday, her lawyers argued that Gutierrez Reed has already suffered from a “press deluge” surrounding the case, and that her life will be forever altered regardless of the judge’s sentence.
The defense also argued that Gutierrez Reed has wanted to express her “deep sadness” to the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, but that pending legal proceedings have prevented her from doing so. Joel Souza, the film’s director, was also wounded in the shooting.

Allen struggled to find a North American distributor for his most recent film, Coup de Chance. The French thriller/romance film, starring French actors Lou de Laâge and Melvil Poupaud, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2023.
On the red carpet, Allen was booed by people in attendance, including the press and fans. The film was not released in U.S. theaters after the HBO docuseries Allen v. Farrow aired. The docuseries covers the numerous sexual abuse allegations against Allen, including the incident between Allen, ex-partner Mia Farrow and Farrow’s adoptive daughter Soon Yi Previn.
Allen was also accused of sexual abuse by his stepdaughter, Dylan Farrow.

A cascade of “misleading statements” and “false” claims by Alec Baldwin’s lawyers in the Rust star’s involuntary manslaughter case for the 2021 shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins will do nothing to erase the actor’s “complete lack of concern for the safety of those around him,” declares the prosecution.
Set to go on trial on July 9 in Santa Fe on charges re-filed in late January, Baldwin is facing up to 18 months behind bars if found guilty in the killing of Hutchins. With Baldwin pleading not guilty and always proclaiming he never pulled the trigger on the Colt .45 that fired live rounds at Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza, his lawyers have slammed the case as an “abuse of the system, and an abuse of an innocent person.” They want it dismissed Asap

Prosecutors intend to argue that Alec Baldwin could not control his emotions on the set of “Rust,” and that he “shamelessly lied” and repeatedly changed his story after accidentally shooting the film’s cinematographer.
The actor is due to go on trial in July in Santa Fe, N.M., on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for firing a prop gun and killing Halyna Hutchins. In a 32-page filing made public on Monday, prosecutor Kari Morrissey laid out the allegations against Baldwin in unprecedented detail.
She argued that Baldwin would scream and curse at himself and others on set, sometimes for no particular reason, and that his behavior contributed to safety failures.
“To watch Mr. Baldwin’s conduct on the set of ‘Rust’ is to witness a man who has absolutely no control of his own emotions and absolutely no concern for how his conduct affects those around him,” Morrissey wrote.

The “SNL” 5-Timers Club has been around since December 1990, when Tom Hanks joked in his monologue that a person’s fifth time hosting is when they receive a membership card into the club. Hanks then left the stage and joined Steve Martin, Elliott Gould and Paul Simon in an expensive-looking set with hors d’oeuvres, waiters and a doorman. The iconic club set would be seen multiple times on NBC’s late sketch comedy throughout the decades, often (but not always) when a new host is anointed as a five-timer. Members of the club are always seen wearing exclusive jackets embroidered with a “5” badge.
So who has hosted “Saturday Night Live” at least five times? Scroll through our “SNL” 5-Timers Club members list above, which includes (in alphabetical order by last name) some of the most recognizable people in the industry, including Tina Fey, Paul Rudd and Tom Hanks.

Lorne Michaels is an expert at celebrating the legacy of “Saturday Night Live.” The show’s creator has produced variety specials for the NBC program’s 15th anniversary, 25th anniversary and 40th anniversary, so the upcoming 50th season should have a highly entertaining spectacle. Nothing less than a three-hour event would be expected, but how else should “SNL” celebrate the golden anniversary season, which would begin in the autumn of 2024 and continue through May, 2025?
Here is our exciting, fun suggestion for a way to go above and beyond for the live special. Over the course of a 20-22 episode season, NBC would certainly have almost every episode featuring the current cast along with hot guest hosts and musical guests. However, for the other five episodes spread out over several months, devote an entire 90 minutes to each previous decade. Invite back the biggest cast members from a decade along with well-known guest hosts and music stars.

Steve Martin is an actor, writer, producer, and musician, known among the masses for his brilliant comic skills. Considered one of the best in business, he became popular for his absurdist and offbeat comic routines, that made him one of Saturday Night Live‘s favorites, having hosted the sketch comedy show a total of 16 times, only one behind Alec Baldwin, who has the highest number, with 17 hosting stints.
Steve Martin in Only Murders In The Building
Steve Martin recently released a two-part documentary on his life by Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville. Steve!, the documentary, is a reflection of life instead of being what he thinks it could be about. He is a one-man show – sometimes a two-man routine – but his charisma and hold over the subject is unparalleled.
