All 10 episodes of the series will drop June 29. Contestants are Alexa Santos of Fort Lauderdale, Fl; Anthony Bar, Los Angeles, CA; Anthony Langston, Denton, TX; Danielle Harris, Washington, D.C; Jazmin Tyler, Santa Monica, CA; Joshua Walbolt,...

SAG Awards Announces 2022 Production Team, Led by Executive Producers Jon Brockett and Kathy Connell
Jon Brockett has been tapped to serve as executive producer of the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year, joining returning EP Kathy Connell at the helm. Brockett had previously served as a producer on the show, and has been a part of the SAG Awards since its fifth show, while Connell has been with the ceremony since it began in 1995.
Brockett and Connell are a part of this year’s production team, which the SAG Awards announced on Thursday. Not returning are Hazy Mills Productions’ Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, who served as EPs with Connell of the in-person 2019 and 2020 events, as well as last year’s pre-taped virtual special.
For 2022, as previously reported, the SAG Awards are shaking things up by moving venues, to Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar. There’s still no word yet on whether there will be a host for the show, which will air on Feb.

Zach “Zhc” Hsieh, a popular YouTube creator and artist, has been tapped as the host for Season 2 of YouTube’s “Instant Influencer” competition series, which promises one up-and-coming artist a $100,000 cash prize.
Last month YouTube confirmed that James Charles, the beauty vlogger who hosted the first season of “Instant Influencer,” would not return to host Season 2. That came after Charles had been accused of “grooming” a 16-year-old online; Charles called the accusation “completely false.”
The “Instant Influencer” Season 2 with Zhc will run for eight episodes, up from four in Season 1, and is slated to debut later in 2021.
In Season 2, a group of 10 contestants — artists selected by Zhc and his producing partners — will compete for the title of “Instant Influencer” and the $100,000 prize. Casting kicks off Thursday (April 15) and aspiring contestants can apply to be on the show (at this link) during the next two weeks; applicants must be 18 and older and live in the U.

The Descent arguably made being stuck underground scary again, with intelligent use of the darkness and just a hint of claustrophobia half of the job of scaring the audience was done before the creatures even made an appearance on screen. Beneath may not want to be compared to Neil Marshall’s movie, but as a fan I can’t help but compare the two.
Beneath may claim it is inspired by true events, but we know that this is a statement that is used as a marketing tool to get attention but means nothing when it comes to historical fact. In the movie we see a crew of coal miners trapped 600 feet below the ground.

We Now Begin Our Descent: Ketai’s Debut a Minor Effort
Arriving decently dressed but in poor taste is writer/producer Ben Ketai’s directorial debut, Beneath, sharing its bland title with Larry Fessenden’s most recent indie horror film. This genre exploitation effort, which may eventually make a great double bill with Patricia Riggen’s forthcoming reenactment of the plight of the 33 Chilean miners from the 2010 Copiapo mining accident, often feels like a cheap knockoff of Neil Marshall’s The Descent, though Ketai’s adherence to the poker faced formula of And Then There Were None should satisfy those appreciative of commitment to ambience, no matter how generic the end product.
Samantha (Kelly Noonan) is an environmental lawyer who returns to her home town to celebrate her father George’s (Jeff Fahey) last day on the job due to declining health. Recording the celebratory efforts by interviewing several co-workers,...

Ben Ketai's (30 Days of Night) second feature film as director is the horror title Beneath. This film was recently released on video-on-demand, through IFC Films. And, this is one horror film that viewers should take notice of. Dealing with trapped miners deep below ground, the writing team of Patrick Doody and Chris Valenziano introduce a supernatural element, born of hell. Lots of thrills can be found in Beneath, with the lighting standing out as the film's strongest element. There is a lot of mystery and a lot of tension in this exciting, horror outing. The story primarily focuses on the character Samantha (Kelly Noonan). Sam is visiting her dad from New York and Sam's dad is close to retirement. As a fond gesture, Sam...

We've got a fun trailer to share with you for a psychological horror thriller called Beneath. The film was inspired by actual events that follow a retiring miner who picked the wrong day to bring his daughter to work. I think it looks like it could be a really good movie, but I enjoy this kind of stuff. Here's the synopsis:
A crew of coal miners becomes trapped 600 feet below ground after a disastrous collapse. As the air grows more toxic and time runs out, they slowly descend into madness and begin to turn on one another. Inspired by true events.
The movie seems to have a similar tone to films such as The Descent and The Thing. Beneath was directed by Ben Ketai from a script by Patrick Doody and Chris Valenziano. It will be released on VOD/Digital platforms on June 27th, and hits select theaters on July 25th.

"Beneath" is a new thriller that is being billed as "inspired by true events." "Inspired," in this case, is a much more accurate term than "based on." The true events in reference surround the catastrophic 2013 cave in of a Bracket Coal mine that trapped a team of miners countless stories beneath the Earth's surface. From here, the film takes a fair share of creative liberties, turning it into a haunting claustrophobic thriller as the miners await their uncertain fate. Directed by first time feature director Ben Ketai ("30 Days of Night" mini-series) and co-written by horror team Patrick Doody and Chris Valenziano, "Beneath" seeks to dramatize the event that captured the world's attention, and take advantage of a rare opportunity to make a supernatural thriller "inspired by" actual events. "Beneath" is being distributed by IFC Films and has been slated for an October 8th release, right in the heart of horror season.

This should be interesting. We’ve just learned that 30 Days of Night: Dark Days helmer Ben Ketai is set to direct another horror thriller titled Beneath! Yet another found footage horror pic, but at least we know that the whole thing will revolve around a headstrong female lawyer, and if you ask me – when there’s some arrogant bitch involved in the movie plot – I’m always in! So, at this moment we know that Ketai will direct the movie from a script written by Patrick J. Doody and Chris Valenziano which centers on a team of coal miners and a headstrong female lawyer who... As you may recall, Supernatural's web series spin-off "Ghostfacers" debuted on April 15 with two new episodes being added each week. In honor of the occasion, The CW has provided us with video interviews of stars Travis Wester, Aj Buckley, Austin Basis, Brittany Ishibashi, and Mircea Monroe along with a chat with Jim Beaver (aka Bobby from Supernatural) and some footage of the premiere party.
The web series on Cwtv.com stars Aj Buckley as Ed, the team’s enthusiastic leader, and Travis Wester as Harry, the co-founder of the team and tactical specialist. Brittany Ishibashi is Maggie, Ed’s adopted sister and the team’s tech genius. Austin Basis co-stars as Kenny, the videographer and occasional shaman, and Mircea Monroe portrays their new intern Ambyr.
“Ghostfacers” follows a team of fearless and sometimes comical “professional” ghost hunters who investigate other-worldly sightings and record their own adventures in documentary-style episodes.

As mentioned in our coverage of the 2010 Streamy Awards, the first two episodes of “Ghostfacers” – the new original shortform series/brand extension of The CW's Supernatural – is set to premiere Thursday, April 15, on Cwtv.com; and now we have a few more details to share.
The debut of the “Ghostfacers” digital series, starring Aj Buckley and Travis Wester as the world’s greatest self-proclaimed ghost hunters on a quest for the paranormal, coincides with the broadcast of the 100th episode of Supernatural, "Point of No Return", starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.
The first two episodes will launch on April 15 at 10 a.m. on Cwtv.com, followed by two additional episodes each Thursday for the next four weeks, for a total of 10 episodes. Each episode is approximately three to four minutes in length. On Monday, June 7, all 10 episodes of “Ghostfacers” will migrate from Cwtv.com to TheWB.com.

When Travis Wester ("EuroTrip") and "CSI: NY's" A.J. Buckley shot their first episode of "Supernatural" in 2006, there were already rumors of a spin-off. Their characters, reckless amateur ghost hunters Harry and Ed, returned to the show in 2008 for "Ghostfacers."
The first episode after the writers strike ended, "Ghostfacers" defied the usual "Supernatural" format and was instead written and shot to look like the pilot episode of Ed and Harry's new reality show. Unfortunately, the faux-pilot was never picked up.
"The Winchesters erased our pilot," Buckley tells Zap2it.
"Douchebags," Wester interrupts.
"Yeah. Douchenozzles. When something happens like that, you grow from it. You get stronger, you get wiser. We looked at the grand scheme of the playing field and went, 'The Internet! Let's take it there.' One click of a button, we can talk to Obama if we want."

Disney has preemptively picked up the high-concept pitch Happy Little Family from Patrick Doody and Chris Valenziano. Miles Millar and Alfred Gough are producing.
The story centers on a family that is turned into a popular set of dolls which must then work together to survive the dangers they encounter in their newfound state and find a way to reverse a wish gone awry.
Tanya Yuson and Matt Okumura of Millar/Gough Ink brought the project to Todd Murata, who is overseeing for Disney.
Doody and Valenziano are writer-producers for televised award shows, and have worked on the American Cinematheque tribute for Julia Roberts, the 13th annual Critics Choice Awards and VH1's Big in '05 and Big in '06 awards. They dipped their pens into dramatic fare with Sci Fi Channel's horror film Bugs and also wrote the video game Silent Hill: Homecoming for Konami.
Doody and Valenziano are repped by Jonathan Hung.
