After last week’s delve into London’s Chinatown, extreme martial arts abilities and addictive narcotic consumption, this week gave an insight into early eugenics and the attitudes of Victorians towards disabilities and genetic disorders – something a bit different for the palate.
Ripper Street’s current villain, in the form of Joseph Mawle’s Detective Inspector Jedediah Shine, returns to play puppet master over Reid and his men. In the last episode Shine gave his supposed ‘friend’ Maurice Linklater an overdose and now he plans to place the blame on Reid and the inquest is set. But it’s not only Reid who has his hands full with Shine, for he has many associates – one of which is revealed to be Silas Duggan (Frank Harper) the man who plays landlord (and owner in his eyes) of Long Susan (MyAnna Buring). Kirk Cameron, Left Behind Kirk Cameron: Gays 'Unnatural' – Plus Cameron's Banana Video As for Kirk Cameron, he hasn't had a very fruitful film career, as the vast majority of his work has been restricted to television. During his Growing Pains heyday in the '80s, Cameron was seen in only a handful of mainstream releases, all but one box-office bombs — e.g., Douglas Day Stewart's romantic drama Listen to Me (1989), opposite Jami Gertz, and the Robin Williams-Kurt Russell comedy The Best of Times (1986). The second phase of Cameron's film career is comprised of a few movies geared to Evangelical Christian audiences in the United States. In Vic Sarin's Armaggedon-themed Left Behind (2001), Cameron plays television journalist Buck Williams, described by the New York Times' Stephen Holden as "the most golly gee-whiz young journalist to appear since Jimmy Olsen stalked Superman." For all his naiveté, Williams uncovers...

I know that as a reviewer, I’m supposed to maintain some degree of objectivity and not bring my own prejudices into what I watch, but let’s be honest for a moment: there’s no way that you can watch an Mma film on purpose and not know that it’s going to suck more than a little. I mean, seriously. I like seeing guys pummel each other as much as the next guy, but this is the second one that I’ve watched (the first being Never Surrender), and the feeling that they had made the film as a kind of endurance test was just as strong with this film as it was with that one.

Somewhere along the way Eric Balfour's career turned him from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and into the brick wall that is comprised of "Sci-Fi Original" movies. That makes us sad. The Hell Ride actor recently starred in Rise of the Gargoyles , a creature feature directed by Bill Corcoran that was geared for the Sci-Fi Channel and is now making its way to DVD on September 8th. Genius Products forwarded us a series of hi-res production photos as well as DVD cover art which you can find by clicking on the image below . In the film, Balfour plays Jack Richmond, a struggling author whose outlandish theories on pagan architecture, make him the laughing stock of the academic world. But when Jack finds himself face to face in a demolished church with a live version...
