International nonprofit Feed the Children and Fox’s hit culinary competition series, Masterchef Junior, are partnering throughout March to fight childhood hunger.
The organizations will unite for a 30-day donation campaign, End Hunger: Dare to Donate, as well as a three-week social media campaign, to bring awareness to childhood hunger across America. During the social media campaign, kids 13 and younger will be able to use everyday items (and their imaginations) to create delicious dishes inspired by Fox’s Masterchef Junior.
“We recognize hunger can’t be fought alone, but by working together, we can provide food and essentials to millions of children and families who live in poverty,” said Travis Arnold, President and Chief Executive Officer of Feed the Children. “Hope for a better future is made possible, thanks to our partners at Fox’s Masterchef Junior.”

Almost exactly one year ago, Susan Lucci‘s grandson Brendan — who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was a toddler — underwent a selective dorsal rhizotomy, which involved cutting some sensory nerves in the lower spinal cord in order to make it easier for him to walk.
And now, not only is Brendan strutting red carpets, but he’s hitting the slopes as well.
“He’s skiing!” the soap-opera legend, 70, told People of milestones the 8½-year-old reached recently at the United Cerebral Palsy NYC 70th Anniversary Gala Thursday night in New York City.

When Susan Lucci was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars back in 2008, the glamorous soap opera star never let on, that behind the scenes, her newborn grandson Brendan was fighting for his life.
Back home in Garden City, New York, Brendan – the son of her daughter, Liza Huber and her husband Alex Hesterberg – had just been born nine weeks early, weighing just 4 lbs., 10 oz.
But Lucci, the star of All My Children (and more recently Devious Maids) and always a fan favorite, never revealed that her grandson was hooked up to a ventilator, unable to breathe on his own.

Celebrity mothers Kelly Preston, Elisabeth Rohm and Jenna Elfman have joined forces with a children's charity to host kids' parties aimed at raising awareness about the toxic chemicals used in household products.
The actresses, along with Muhammad Ali's boxer daughter Laila Ali and former All My Children star Susan Lucci and her daughter Liza Huber, are among more than 150 volunteers who have signed up to throw individual events for the Healthy Child Healthy World organisation as part of its Healthy Child Party Week, which begins on 5 May.
Party hosts are required to invite at least 15 friends and family members to a specially-organised bash to educate others about the dangers of household toxins and find ways to create a healthier home.
Friends with Benefits star Elfman says, "I had no idea about all the potential toxins in my household until I personally attended a Healthy Child Healthy World party in 2007.
"I was pregnant with my first son and learned so much in one short afternoon. It opened the door to much healthier living for my family and I am forever grateful. Now I just want to return the favour."...

As Passions fans are well aware, NBC cancelled the supernatural soap back in January and it will leave the network on September 7, 2007. Luckily for some, the serial will resume on DirecTV's The 101 channel beginning September 17th. To cut costs, the series will air only four days a week and some characters will be dropped as well. Will your favorites survive the move?
Yesterday, NBC announced they have signed the following actors to new contracts: Eric Martsolf (Ethan), Ben Masters (Julian), Kim Johnston Ulrich (Ivy), Dylan Fergus (Noah), Galen Gering (Luis), Emily Harper (Fancy), Lindsay Hartley (Theresa), Liza Huber (Gwen), James Hyde (Sam), Juliet Mills (Tabitha), Heidi Mueller (Kay), Tracey Ross (Eve), Eva Tamargo (Pilar), McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) and Erin Cardillo (Esme).
Among the missing are: Silvana Arias (Paloma), Adrian Bellani (Miguel), Charles Divins (Chad), Brook Kerr (Whitney), and Mark Cameron Wystrach (Fox).
Will these departures impact the series? Some don't think so.
