Currently out in theatres, Unsung Heros is a Christian movie that follows Luke, Joel, and Rebecca Smallbone of the For King & Country band, and their story of how they became top Christian recording artists.
Joel Smallbone directs the flick, which explores themes of faith, family bounds, and resilience as the Smallbones travel from Australia to America after their music company crumbles.
Actor Jonathan Jackson plays Eddie DeGarmo in the film, and recently spoke with Hollywood Insider about how the script brought him to tears.

General Hospital fans tuned into Thursday’s (May 2) episode may have noticed something a little different about Aiden Webber; well, that’s because a brand new actor has taken over the role. Tristan Riggs, whose credits include Walker and True Lies, has taken over from Enzo De Angelis as Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden. He made his first appearance in Thursday’s episode, and according to Soap Opera Digest, he will be playing Aiden moving forward in a permanent recasting. Aiden was born on-screen on July 19, 2010, as the son of Elizabeth and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson). Seven actors have previously portrayed the character, including twins Adrian & Brett Ritter (2010-11) and Maximo & Finbar (2011), Titus Jackson (2011-12), Jason David, and De Angelis (2021-24). Riggs marks the eighth actor to take on the role. The switch comes after Aiden recently came out as gay to his mom. Riggs will inherit a...

General Hospital spoilers report Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was gearing up to present a pretty formidable storyline months back when we realized she was practically stalking Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
The fans continue to lament that we’ve barely seen Charlotte since the truth came out and obliterated Anna’s relationship with Charlotte’s father, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
General Hospital Spoilers — Therapy Takes Time
Instead of telling Anna the truth about Charlotte’s condition, he protected his daughter, which ended in Anna shooting Charlotte after she broke into her apartment. And that’s it? That’s where the story ends? Anna and Valentin are over and Charlotte seeks therapy?
We’re not going to learn how her grandfather, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), played her like a fiddle and messed with her mind Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)-style?

‘Unsung Hero’ Review: The Family That Prays Together, Plays Together in Uplifting Faith-Based Biopic
The heartrending hook behind “Unsung Hero” isn’t solely discovering how one tight knit family birthed two chart-topping contemporary Christian musical acts, although that is an interesting draw. It’s not necessarily learning how the Aussie expats survived a slew of hardships through togetherness and fortitude. The fascinating angle it adopts is similar to the way Steven Spielberg explored a tumultuous time in his childhood with “The Fablemans,” as Joel Smallbone (who co-wrote and directed with Richard L. Ramsey) also engages with family history, portraying his father grappling with financial and personal crises. The co-directors re-contextualize character-building circumstances, crafting a soul-stirring testament to the power of family and faith in the process.
David Smallbone (Joel Smallbone) is at the top of his game in early 1991. He’s got a great support system at work as one of Australia’s top Christian artist concert promoters, luring in such performers as the heavy metal hair band Stryper.

General Hospital Spoilers: Does Jason Have A Future In Port Charles If He Is Cleared Of All Charges?
General Hospital spoilers reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has no idea what the future holds, and it’s hard to tell whether he or Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is more uneasy about that fact.
Longing to understand what comes next — and worried she could lose him again — Carly wants the security of knowing he’s going to stick around, but Jason can’t promise her that right now. He is forced to take things day by day, minute by minute, which is all that he can’t really handle if we’re being honest.
It may seem as though Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) surprise recovery was the key to exonerating Jason, but he still has a tough road ahead. There will be complications that arise and serve to keep Jason in Port Chuck — but for how long?

Will He Bring Lucky Back To General Hospital?
Greg Vaughan is most known for his portrayal of the beloved character Eric Brady on Days Of Our Lives. But that wasn’t his first soap role. The heartthrob got his daytime start as Diego Guittierez on The Young & The Restless. However, the role on the CBS soap was short-lived.
In 2003, he joined the ABC soap General Hospital as legacy character Lucky Spencer, taking over from Jacob Young. The son of Luke and Laura was originated by Jonathan Jackson in 1993. Greg Vaughan played the role until 2009, when Jonathan Jackson returned. He left again in 2011 and was last seen briefly in 2015.

"You're family – they're not in the way, they are the way." Lionsgate has revealed the official trailer for a band biopic movie called Unsung Hero, which is essentially just one big chunk of marketing for the band anyway. It actually stars one of the band members as his own father, and is also written and directed and produced by him. David Smallbone, his pregnant wife, and their seven children leave Australia to rebuild their lives in America. David and Helen realize the musical talent of their children, who become two of the most successful acts in "Inspirational Music" history. The movie also follows the family's mother, Helen, as she uses her faith to hold the family of nine together by turning struggles into an adventure for her children. Not just a movie about a band, it's also more religious storytelling! Unsung Hero stars Daisy Betts, Joel Smallbone, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson,...

I cannot speak to anything that Tyler Christopher, who died on Tuesday, did following his initial run as General Hospital‘s Nikolas Cassadine. But I do want to take a moment to reflect on, and celebrate, how he — in his first acting role ever, I believe? — rose to the occasion after being dropped into one of Gh‘s best twists ever.
Christopher, lore tells us, first auditioned for the Gh role of Stone Cates (which instead went to Michael Sutton). Years later, though, he successfully made a run at the role of Nikolas, another brand-new character that was inserted into...

1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything highlights the almost psychic rapport between radicals and radical thinking musicians. One activist brought together the Queen of Soul and the top royalty of British Rock. The documentary points out how Aretha Franklin offered to post bail for Angela Davis, but the former philosophy professor also drew in support from The Rolling Stones, former Beatle John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and by extension, Bob Dylan.
Angela Davis was born to encourage free thought. The neighborhood where she grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, was called “Dynamite Hill,” because the Ku Klux Klan tried to bomb middle-class Blacks out of the area. Cops broke up interracial study groups Angela organized in high school, and she knew some of the young girls killed in the 1963 church bombing in Birmingham. Since we’re talking about Terminator movies here we’re going to have to leave Jonathan Jackson out of the mix for now since The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a TV show. The big downside of this is that we didn’t get a fourth person that could have played Kyle Reese and instead

Stream of the Day: ‘Free Angela and All Political Prisoners’ Still Holds the Power to Inspire Change
With readers turning to their home viewing options more than ever, this daily feature provides one new movie each day worth checking out on a major streaming platform.
Forty years after the high-stakes trial that catapulted 26-year-old scholar and Marxist feminist Angela Davis into the spotlight as a revolutionary icon, Shola Lynch’s 2012 documentary, “Free Angela and All Political Prisoners” relives those transformative years of Davis’ life. It’s quite a journey: Even as she was branded a terrorist, Davis spurred a worldwide political movement for her freedom. The portrait of that story reignites discussion on the radical movement she joined and eventually led, and it still holds the power to inspire a new generation to similar acts of collective progressivism, all in the name of political and social reforms.

It was recently reported that the Daytime Emmys were considering changes to its younger acting categories in 2020. With only four soaps left on the air, the national television academy may merge Best Younger Actress and Best Younger Actor into one gender-neutral category that would incorporate broadcast soaps as well as digital dramas. Our readers have strong feelings about that. Scroll down to read comments from our forum posters and to see our complete poll results.
Our poll was pretty decisive. Almost two-thirds of respondents (63%) said the Daytime Emmys should keep the younger acting categories just the way they are. But the responses from the devoted soap watchers in our forums was more divided. Not many of them agree with this particular change, but some agree with the poll...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the series finale of Nashville.
Nashville tonight wrapped its six-season run — four on ABC and two on Cmt — with an eventful finale that featured the return (in a flashback) of the beloved Rayna James (Connie Britton), a happy ending for virtually every character but baddie Brad and a love letter to the city of Nashville.
It was payback time for the final season’s villain, the arrogant label owner Brad (Jeffrey Nordling). With help of Deacon (Charles Esten), Alannah (Rainee Lyleson), the object of Brad’s unwelcome sexual advances in the final season’s #metoo storyline, pulled off a sting operation, getting Brad’s harassment on tape. She, Deacon and Zach (Cameron Scoggins) then used the recording to blackmail Brad into selling his Shiny New Records to Deacon and Zach for a fraction of its value. And Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday) got full custody of their son Jake.

I grew up in a little town just north of Nashville. My all-time favorite movie is Robert Altman's Nashville. So it probably comes as no surprise that I love the TV series Nashville, that aired on ABC for two seasons before moving to Cmt. Tonight, Nashville is wrapping up its six-season run with the series finale at 9 p.m Et/Pt, and I will miss these characters and their continuing stories very much.
While always a big fan of the series, part of my sadness is due to the fact that I absolutely love the depth and focus Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick added since becoming showrunners at the start of Season 5.
Since you are reading this blog, you probably already know how fantastic Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer on General Hospital). He has delivered in every scene for six seasons and I'm hoping his character, Avery Barkley, reunites with...

Cmt has released a first look at the upcoming final episode of country music drama Nashville.
In the clip, Zach (Cameron Scroggins) presents an ultimatum to Brad (Jeffrey Nordling), Nashville’s Next is about to name its star and Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) are ready to face their future. There’s also a mysterious blurry figure toward the end of the clip with Deacon (Charles Esten) asking “Is this real?” (Who could that be?)
In Cmt’s official logline for the final episode, “Deacon can’t forgive Gideon and gets an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream. Juliette makes a decision about her future. Daphne prepares for the final round of Nashville’s Next. Alannah confronts Brad. Avery, Gunnar, and Will discuss the future.”

When ABC cancelled the Nashville TV series after four seasons, it seemed the song would end with no final refrain. After Cmt rode to the rescue and picked it up (with an assist from Hulu), star Connie Britton left partway through season five, leaving fans wondering if cancellation once again loomed. Although the cable network renewed it in April of 2017, by November they announced Nashville would end with its sixth season. So, why track the ratings? Well, it keeps us out of trouble. It also gives us a good benchmark by which to assess the success of other TV shows, so stay tuned. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Nashville” Season 5 and 6).
Is that who we think it is?
At the end of the final trailer for the last eight episodes of “Nashville,” Deacon (Charles Esten) asks “Is this real?” to a shadowy figure we can only assume is Connie Britton’s character Rayna Jaymes. We’ve got the same question as Deacon, considering Rayna died due to surgery complications after a car accident in Season 5.
It’s unclear how the show would bring back superstar Rayna, who left a lasting impact on superstar Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) — who, by the way, finds out in the trailer she’s pregnant. She’s also being held hostage by a cult in South America, so that’s no big deal. (Just kidding. That’s a huge deal. How will she get back to tell her daughter she’s a big sister?!)
