If you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s return, you’re not alone. Rob Lowe, who stars as Captain Owen Strand, is eager for Season 5, on Fox‘s fall 2024 schedule, to get out there already. “We’ve been shooting for two or three months now, so I want to be able to see it already,” he told TV Insider at the network’s upfront red carpet. The Season 4 finale, which saw T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) get married, also featured a couple of tragedies: Carlos’ father was murdered, and Owen sat by his brother Robert’s (Chad Lowe) side for his death (his Huntington’s disease was progressively getting worse). It aired in May 2023; 9-1-1: Lone Star was not part of Fox’s schedule for the 2023-2024 season at all after the strikes, instead pushed to fall 2024. But...

Upon sweeping the four main drama acting categories at the 2021 Emmy Awards, “The Crown” stars Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Gillian Anderson, and Tobias Menzies all joined a special roster of lead or supporting TV academy honorees who were not part of their shows’ original casts. As members of the expansive Netflix series’ second of three distinct ensembles, this quartet and their co-stars were replaced ahead of season five by a new group of actors, some of whom could be added to said exclusive winners club later this year.
According to Gold Derby’s odds, the performer from the sixth and final season of “The Crown” with the best shot at Emmy glory is supporting female frontrunner Elizabeth Debicki. They’re referring to her looks, but one could just as easily be talking about her career. At what point was Hilary Swank hot in her career? In 2008, when the episode aired: Yeah. In the years between her Oscars? Not exactly. Now? No. So, let’s take a look and find out…Wtf Happened to…Hilary Swank?

It was a night of firsts, lasts and an upset win as TV’s finest gathered together to celebrate the 45th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC on September 19, 1993. Even the host made history — in more ways than one. Read on for our Emmys flashback 30 years ago to 1993.
For the first time ever, the ceremony was hosted solely by a female — who was also, ironically, the unluckiest actress in Emmy history. Up for her 13th Emmy nomination that evening, Angela Lansbury guided the ceremony with her usual grace. Lansbury passed away in 2022, with the record of most Best Drama Actress bids as well as the record for most overall nominations without a win at 18. However, she wasn’t the only one nominated at this ceremony who has never won despite numerous nominations, or the only one to lay claim to an unfortunate record.

First things first, we got a renewal! It's always a relief when you can enjoy the rest of the season without fear that the series' future will hang in the balance.
They're hitting us hard with some Grace Ryder content on the back end, and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 15 predominately focused on how a case got under her skin and prompted her to take down an organ trafficking ring with help from Carlos.
Carlos and Grace are one of the most underrated duos in this series.
We were also dealt an emotionally crushing blow to Owen as it saw Chad Lowe's return as Owen's half-brother, Robert, with some devastating health news that could affect both Owen and T.K.
And there was also a special reunion treat for Firefly fans with Adam Baldwin guest-starring and even sharing a brief scene with Gina Torres.

As far as 9-1-1: Lone Star goes, it doesn’t get much more more intense — or heartbreaking — than Tuesday’s episode.
The hour largely centered around a kidney harvesting ring in Austin, one to which Grace developed a personal connection after a victim she helped over the phone ended up dying in the hospital. When the authorities looked at this young woman more like a criminal than a victim, as is the case with so many Black and brown women, Grace felt she had no choice but to step in and find the guy who took her kidney.

And when a case gets too personal for Grace, she turns to Carlos, as the duo works toward taking down a black market organ trafficking operation.

For most actors, winning an Oscar is seen as the absolute pinnacle of a Hollywood career. For a select group of performers, though, one simply isn’t enough.
There have been 44 different actors to have won multiple awards, the first coming in 1937 when Luise Rainer became the original two-time Oscar darling.
Some manage to win every time they are nominated. Others, such as the inimitable Meryl Streep, have careers peppered with nominations, winning only when the so-called narrative dictates.
In 2021, Anthony Hopkins took home his second statuette, for his role in The Father. The year before, Renée Zellweger took home her second Oscar after playing Judy Garland in Judy.
In 2020, Mahershala Ali picked up his second Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Best Picture winner Green Book. He previously won for Moonlight in 2017.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the Jan. 31 “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox.
You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you? “9-1-1: Lone Star” fans were reminded what show they are watching with Monday’s installment of Ryan Murphy’s Fox first-responder drama, when fiancés T.K. Strand (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) received the blessing of Carlos’ estranged wife/childhood best friend Iris (Lyndsy Fonseca) to get an annulment eight weeks before T.K. and Carlos’ moved-up wedding — only for her to go missing at the end of the episode.
With much on the line and so little time, “Tarlos” shippers are waiting to see how the paramedic and cop — and their friends and family at the 126 — will help them find Iris before something terrible happens to her, and, we hope, still find a way to plan a happy wedding.

Tyler James Williams has come a long way since his days as a child actor on “Sesame Street.” After starring on “Everybody Hates Chris” as a teenager and moving on to significant roles on such shows as “The Walking Dead” and “Criminal Minds,” the 29-year-old has now earned his first Emmy nomination for his supporting turn on the ABC sitcom “Abbott Elementary.” This makes him one of the 12 youngest men to ever compete for the Best Comedy Supporting Actor award.
On “Abbott Elementary,” Williams plays Gregory Eddie, a long-term substitute teacher at the titular fictional Philadelphia public school. His episode submission, “Work Family,” involves Gregory seeking help from his veteran colleagues Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter) after he realizes his first graders are performing below state standards. Welcome back to Oscars Playback, in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Christopher Rosen and Joyce Eng revisit Oscar ceremonies and winners of yesteryear. This week, we conclude the ’90s with the 72nd Academy Awards in 2000, honoring the films of 1999.
“American Beauty” was the big winner of the night, scoring five wins from eight nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Sam Mendes — in his directorial debut — and Best Actor for Kevin Spacey. It was such a foregone conclusion that Billy Crystal joked in his monologue that it could win all eight. Of the other four Best Picture nominees — “The Cider House Rules,” “The Green Mile,” “The Insider” and “The Sixth Sense” — only “The Cider House Rules” went home a winner, taking two awards for Best Supporting Actor for Michael Caine and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Maia Reficco will play Noa, a striving, sardonic track star who's working hard to get her life back to normal after a summer spent in juvenile detention.
It's hard to believe Pretty Little Liars is being rebooted, but maybe the move to streaming will give the franchise a bigger scope.

HBO Max has given a direct-to-series order to a “Pretty Little Liars” reboot from “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the streaming service said Thursday.
Titled “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” the show will be set in a new town and follow a “new generation” of liars, but exist in the same universe as the Freeform series created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard. King is not involved in the reboot.
Here’s the official description for “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”:

“Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on a reboot of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars,” TheWrap has learned.
Aguirre-Sacasa’s take on the teen drama, which was created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard, would follow a new story, focused on new characters. He is developing the “Pll” project for Warner Bros. TV — which recently absorbed “Pretty Little Liars’s” original studio, Warner Horizon — where he has an overall deal.
Showrunner of both The CW’s “Riverdale” and Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Aguirre-Sacasa will executive produce the potential reboot series alongside Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.
No platform is attached to the reboot, which is still in the early stages of development and has not been taken out to the marketplace yet.
Warner Bros. TV declined to comment on the “Pretty Little Liars” project.

The Flash season 6 is nearing closer to its midseason finale. Once “License to Elongate” arrives next Tuesday, the following two episodes will comprise the double-length storyline “The Last Temptation of Barry Allen.” We’ve already got the synopsis for the first half of the tale, and this new description covers what will happen in the last installment of the series before “Crisis on Infinite Earths” kicks off.
The synopsis teases some high personal stakes for the Scarlet Speedster, as latest nemesis Bloodwork will infect our hero with some sort of hallucinogenic poison. Will the Flash be able fight his way out of his hallucinations and defeat the villain in time? Well, yeah, we kind of know that he will, but it should be thrilling to see how it all works out.
