A star-studded train crash on Monday’s 9-1-1 finale set the stage for a bittersweet hour loaded with several life-changing twists.
Most of the chaotic episode chronicled the 118’s attempt to save the passengers aboard that ill-fated train, including Abby, her fiancé Sam (played by Scrubs‘ Travis Schuldt) and a drummer (played by Rumer Willis) who will not be performing at the Roxy anytime soon. The next day, Buck and Abby had a conversation two seasons in the making, in which she explained that she isn’t the woman she was when she left — and she doesn’t want to be.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the season finale of 9-1-1.
The worlds of 9-1-1 and its spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star are set to collide after showrunner Tim Minear told Deadline that he’s now plotting crossover episodes of the emergency dramas.
This comes after the explosive season finale of 9-1-1 and the fact that Rob Lowe’s Owen Strand and his colleagues navigated a solar storm in the season finale of Lone Star.
Minear, in a wide-ranging interview about the close of 9-1-1’s third season and the franchise, said that now that he had successfully got one season of Lone Star under his belt, he would look to “cross-pollinate” the two Fox dramas.
Season three of 9-1-1 started with a tsunami enveloping Santa Monica pier and ended with a massive train crash.

It takes a village to last 14 seasons and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has a town full of wonderful, recurring weirdos.
You don’t get to 14 seasons without a strong core of a cast. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has that in place with Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito. TBS’ The Detour (Tuesdays at 10:30/9:30c) has embarked on one its more unexpected side trips, with the reveal that Robin has a twin, named Bluejay. “Bj,” as she is called (and for which she is regarded?), at first came off as just a wilder child, then later revealed herself to be downright bats—t.
When last we tuned in, Bj was at “husband” Nate’s side, having chopped her locks to match her twin’s and left an unconscious Robin shackled inside a barn. So if you’re a fan of Natalie Zea, this uproarious arc is truly twice as nice.

"How'd it go? Any weirdos?" Sundance Selects/IFC have debuted the first trailer for an indie drama titled DriverX, which premiered at a few small film festivals last year. The film is about a stay-at-home dad who decides to take a job driving for a hip rideshare company called DriverX, an obvious reference to Uber/Lyft. At first it seems like a fresh new start, but low pay and wild La nights put an even greater strain on his marriage. Patrick Fabian (from "Better Call Saul") stars as Leonard, and the cast includes Tanya Clarke, Desmin Borges, Oscar Nunez, Travis Schuldt, and Melissa Fumero. This trailer makes it seem like this film will end with them saying hey, these apps are good, look what kind of new life it can give you! But I'm not sure. This is also lightly humorous, riding down the middle of the genre road without picking a lane.

Sundance Selects has acquired U .S. rights to Henry Barrial’s Uber-inspired “DriverX” starring Patrick Fabian (“Better Call Saul”) and Tanya Clarke (“Banshee”).
The movie stars Fabian as Leonard Moore, a 50-something stay-at-home dad in Los Angeles who is desperate to find a job and signs up to drive for the popular ride-share company DriverX, leading his marriage to fray at home. The film follows Leonard as he navigates L.A.’s late-night, Tinder-fueled party scene while adjusting to the new technology and the young millennials he drives around.
“The film was inspired by my own experiences as an Uber driver while waiting in vain for another movie to get green-lit,” said Barriel, who also wrote the script. “From the first moment where I was hired via text, without ever meeting or speaking to another human being, I felt something different was happening here that might be worth investigating in a film.

Paramount Network has set a new premiere date for its Heathers reboot. The dark comedy series based on the cult film will now debut July 10, the network announced Tuesday on Instagram.
The network had delayed the premiere, initially set for March 7, following the deadly shooting at a Parkland, Florida high school. In a statement at the time, Paramount Network said its “original series “Heathers” is a satirical comedy that takes creative risks in dealing with many of society’s most challenging subjects ranging from personal identity to race and socio-economic status to gun violence,” the statement said. “While we stand firmly behind the show, in light of the recent tragic events in Florida and out of respect for the victims, their families and loved ones, we feel the right thing to do is delay the premiere until later this year.”

A quick review of this week's "Community" (available, as usual, on Yahoo Screen) coming up just as soon as we're workshopping new handshakes... For the second week in a row, "Community" gives us an episode designed as a sequel to a previous one, with the return of Travis Schuldt (from season 3's "Digital Exploration of Interior Design") as Britta's one true love Subway, now freed of his "sandwich name" and able to go by Rick. That story was one of the best of the uneven third season, and there was more meat left on this particular bone than on last week's attempt to reprise "Cooperative Calligraphy" again. "Community" is always at its strongest when the stories have an emotional component to go with the parody, and Britta and Rick's genuine feelings for each other provided that amidst all the shilling for Honda, not to mention Billy Zane doing a poor...

Amazon keeps accelerating the pace and output of its "pilot season" process. The original batch of Amazon pilots were presented to the public in April of last year; of those, only "Alpha House" (which got renewed for a second season) and "Betas" (which remains in limbo) got picked up. The second batch of pilots were unveiled less than a year later, and Amazon ordered almost all of them — other than "Rebels," the pro football comedy that no one seemed to like — to series. That was in February, and while none of those new shows has debuted — "Transparent," the best of the bunch, will premiere all of its episodes, Netflix-style, on September 26 — Amazon yesterday unveiled its third pilot season, even as there's already news about casting for the fourth wave of Amazon pilots. At this rate, they may be ordering some shows before a word's even been written, and traveling back...

Big news today: We’re excited to announce Amazon Studios’ third pilot season, beginning August 28th and featuring three half hour comedies The Cosmopolitans, Really and Red Oaks, and two hour-long dramatic thrillers Hand of God and Hysteria. For one month, it will be up to you to watch, rate and comment – ultimately helping us decide which of them get the greenlight.
“There is something for everyone in this season,” says Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. The glamorous life of modern day expats in Paris. The hijinks of a summer job at a country club in 1980s New Jersey. The visions of a vigilante judge who appears to be channeling God. The complexities of marriage and friendship among a circle of friends in suburban Chicago. And the mysteries behind a psycho-physiological illness spreading through a small town in Texas.
You can help choose which of these stories should get “picked up” to become shows.

Romance has worked out so much better for Natalie Zea and Travis Schuldt in real life. The longtime couple got married Wednesday in a super-intimate ceremony at a private residence in Hawaii—how fitting for two actors who met on the set of Passions! Zea, who currently plays Claire, the traumatized wife of a serial killer on The Following, looked radiant in a white crochet gown by Israeli designer Inbal Dror. Schuldt, memorable as Elliot's jilted fiancé Keith on Scrubs, suited up in Theory for the occasion. Both the bride and groom went barefoot, the better to walk in the sand. After the I-dos, their 18 guests (hey, we said intimate) enjoyed a private luau reception on the beach,...

The couple said "I do" in Hawaii on Wednesday, July 16. Zea and Schuldt, both 39, married at a private residence in front of 18 family members. The blushing bride stunned in a long-sleeve white lace gown by Israeli designer Inbal Dror and wore her tousled light locks down, cascading past her shoulders. The groom, for his part, wore a Theory [...]...

Their group of friends includes Fred (Jones) and his wife Joanna (Blair), Mike (Schuldt) and his wife Margaret (Sloane) as well as Hayes (Macarthur) and his significant other Alison (Wolfe). A review of tonight's "Community" coming up just as soon as you come to me for atheistic rants and photos of my meals... Perhaps appropriately for an episode where Jeff keeps trying to make Abed stop looking for a plotline, there isn't much to "Basic Story." It's less an episode than it is an extended prologue to whatever we're going to get in next week's finale, "Basic Sandwich." There's some meta commentary about how this show, like any show, relies on conflict and some form of chaos to generate interesting stories, and there are a few in-jokes — Dean Pelton's idea to create a fake particle accelerator was, as Dan Harmon told me a few weeks ago, part of the original outline for the season premiere — but for much of its running time, "Basic Story" is, like Abed, just waiting for something to happen. As such, I almost feel as...

"He started sweating…and then got down on a knee and he started saying things, and I thought he was kidding so I was smug for a good five minutes." She cracked, "I was such a bitch." He certainly wasn't kidding. "The moment I realized this wasn't a joke is when he opened the box and there was a ring in it," Zea said. "I was like, 'Wait a minute, what is happening? What a ‘Boy Meets World’ wedding weekend! After Danielle Fishel tied the knot on Oct. 19, Rider also took the plunge a day later, marrying his longtime girlfriend in Oregon.
We didn’t think we’d ever be able to say this, but Shawn Hunter — a.k.a. Rider Strong — is now a one-woman man! The 33-year-old former Boy Meets World star tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, actress Alexandra Barreto, 31, in a romantic ceremony. Congratulations!
Rider Strong: Shawn Hunter Marries Alexandra Barreto
The couple exchanged their vows at a summer camp in Oregon, a rep told Us Weekly. In fact, the whole celebration was camp-themed, with a ropes course, games and a talent show. And guests reportedly even slept in bunks after the reception!
“Let’s hope it doesn’t rain too much,” Rider joked to Us before the wedding. But mostly Rider was gushing about his new bride.

Lifetime is making a movie about Donatella Versace and The Hollywood Reporter says that Gina Gershon will play Donatella with Enrico Colantoni as Gianni and Raquel Welch as their Aunt Lucia. I’m sure Gershon will be great but she’ll have to make us forget:
If only Ugly Betty were successful enough for a Fabia spin-off.
The next season of The Real World wil return to San Francisco and risk comparisons to the show at its peak. However, ratings are sinking — the current season is attracting half as many viewers as 2011′s return to Las Vegas did. Thus, the iconic series may be heading towards its series finale but not before producers try to adjust the format. The Real World has already tried being more substantial and wallowing in the worst of reality TV. What is left to try?

NBC’s Community “Digital Exploration of Interior Design” (Season 3 Episode 13) Review
“Digital Exploration of Interior Design” was a well-crafted episode of Community, delivering three equally solid storylines and a sense of normality (for this show at least) that came as a breath of fresh air after last week’s overload of wackiness. I have a hard time picking my favorite storyline, because they all managed to stand out, but in the end I would have to go with Jeff and Annie’s bit as the most successful. The other two, involving Troy and Abed building competing forts and Britta infiltrating the new Subway for Pierce and Shirley, were superb, but suffered from little oddities that didn’t quite work, mostly because of a lack of explanation. I’ll explain more on that when I get to them. First of all, let’s talk about Jeff, Annie, and the tragic non-death of Kim.
