- Göran Strindberg was born on January 15, 1917 in Stockholm, Sweden. He was a cinematographer and actor, known for Herr über Leben und Tod (1955), The Rats (1955) and Miss Julie (1951). He died on March 13, 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden.
- His uncle, Nils Strindberg, was a member of the Andrée expedition (with S.A. Andrée and Knut Fraenckel), who unsuccessfully tried to reach the North Pole by balloon in 1927. Their fate was described in the movie "Ingenjör Andrées luftfärd" (1982) directed by Jan Troell.
- The author and playwright August Strindberg was a cousin of his grandfather's.
