It was a strange “American Idol” performance show, which began with a vague announcement by Ryan that one contestant was sent home last night, disqualified from the show.
And then the show went on, with no names named, and a heavy mood looming. Earlier in the day, rumors were flying on Twitter (and it was reported on TMZ yesterday), that it was the 6’8” Jermaine Jones who had been given the boot.

East 17 have announced plans to release a new album later this year. The pop group, who will officially unveil Dark Light on April 2, revealed that their new material has been inspired by Kings of Leon. A press release for the new album read: "It showcases the band's new transatlantic rock sound, reminiscent of bands like Kings of Leon and U2 and even artists like Brian Adams and Billy Joel. "It's a brave move and one that's paid off on a record that's as catchy as 'Summer Of 69' and as soft rock and big-sounding as it gets." East 17 songwriter Tony Mortimer added: "I think everyone is subconsciously inspired by American music and rock 'n' roll and this time around we wanted to do something more live with less tricks." The prize for the greatest Valentine’s Day viral has to go to LOVEFiLM this year who have created this 1 minute long video featuring dozens of films cut together to have them all singing Brian Adams’ record breaking song (Everything I Do) I Do it For You from the 1991 movie, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves which starred Kevin Costner as the lead character.
It’s simply brilliant and awesome work for putting it together and obviously head to LoveFilm.com to rent all the movies in which they use to promote this video.
Have a watch of the video below and send to all your friends! I think my favourite bit has to be the Ghost Rider opening!
Thanks to @SEOSherlock for sending our way!

Hannah Kearney, who won the first Olympic gold medal for the United States at the Vancouver games this year, wrote exclusively for MTV News about her experiences at the games.
I am a freestyle mogul skier who, on February 13, became the first American to win a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The moment I crossed the finish line in my final run, having just skied the best run of my life, I was filled with joy and satisfaction. That may have been the best part of the Olympics for me. Or maybe the best was when my score flashed on the Jumbotron and my bronze medalist teammate tackled me because she realized that I was the newest Olympic champion.
