She studied with the Swedish Opera Ballet School from 1963 to 1971, then joined the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1971. Her first big leading role was in
Rudolf Nureyev's Nutcracker 1971. Appointed soloist in 1973 and principal dancer in 1976, (and in 1990 the first to be given the title Court Dancer by the Swedish king). She made guest appearances all over the world and was the only Swedish ballerina ever invited to dance at the Bolshoi Theatre. She was coached by
Galina Ulanova in Giselle 1984.
