- In his Modern Talking days, he used to wear a noticeable necklace with the name "Nora" in bolt letters. His then-wife, who was notoriously possessive, forced him to wear it so the fans would know that he was not single.

- In 2021, Thomas participated in the 4th season of "Masked Singer Germany" in the costume of the Turtle and ranked 4th.
- He originally started a solo career as a pop singer, with all of his songs being in German. When it didn't work out, Dieter Bohlen, who had written and produced songs for him, suggested that they should team up as a duo, but this time with English songs. This led to the creation of their band Modern Talking.
