Berlin -- German network Rtl has picked up a comedy format from producers Endemol, greenlighting the first season of "Stars bei der Arbeit" (Stars at Work), a lifestyle show hosted by Kaya Yanar and Paul Panzer, two of Germany's best known stand-up comedians.
The show's concept has Yanar and Panzer taking on new jobs every week by, for example, trying their hands at being a hotel bellboy or dental hygienist. The program will also feature a rotation of German VIPs trying out challenging professions. Arno Schneppenheim, head of comedy and light entertainment at Endemol Germany, developed the concept.
Rtl has put in a six-episode order for "Stars bei der Arbeit." Endemol is currently shooting the taped portions of the show and will record the studio segments in front of a live audience this fall.
Another new Endemol comedy format, "Fan Club" starring German funny man Ingo Appelt, premiered on the RTL2 network earlier this year.
