Wesley Snipes has enjoyed a brilliant career full of wonderful roles – but the one that sticks in many a mind, is of course that of Blade. Picking up a big support in the comic-book world as a result, fans will be thrilled to hear that he is returning – as one of the creative forces behind The Exiled, which is currently being crowd-funded as a Kickstarter campaign, ahead of its launch.
We had the pleasure of speaking to Snipes, who was alongside key collaborator and fellow creator, Keith Arem. We discussed the project and what the story is all about and how it’s relevant to the modern world. They also tell us what backers can expect in return – and their long-term plans for the franchise. Snipes looks back across his career and talks about nostalgia, as they also speak about their own relationship with comics growing up.

Jonathan Sothcott has had a hand in producing a whole lot of independent films here in the UK over the last decade. You may have even seen a fair few of them yourself, especially if you’re a Danny Dyer completest.

The inaugural edition of Storytek took place on Saturday November 19 at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, with international experts discussing the continued integration of technology and alternative storytelling.
The all day-event included five panels focusing on intellectual property (IP), start-up and IP investment, gaming, Vr and Ar and the understanding of multi-platform audiences.
Getting a grip on IP and alternative storytelling
The day kicked off with a conversation focused on IP, and the vast topic of alternative storytelling.
John Heinsen, CEO of Los Angeles-based transmedia company Bunnygraph Entertainment, used Game of Thrones as an example of a multi-faceted IP that has grown from an internationally-viewed television series into a business involving a behind-the-scenes live aftershow series, collector’s edition box-sets, IMAX special screenings, video games, podcasts, books, clothing and collectibles.
“We have to think about new business models,” said Heinsen, referring to increased production content like mobile behind-the-scenes video blogs or apps teasing upcoming episodes.

Strange and otherwise terrifying things tend to happen on Friday the 13th, at least according to superstition and a certain horror franchise featuring a machete-wielding maniac, but it was on Thursday the 13th of March, in 1997, that the residents of Phoenix, Arizona experienced a good deal of unusual activity. On that night, an unidentified flying object was spotted and filmed by thousands of people in both Phoenix and Sonora, Mexico, and to date, the strange v-shaped pattern of lights has never quite been explained – at least not in any sort of satisfying way.

Some leaked footage has surfaced from the upcoming sci-fi UFO film The Phoenix Incident, which is based on actual events on 1997 in which there was a massive UFO sighting in Phoenix Az. This kind of stuff absolutely fascinates me because of its unexplained nature. I also love all the crazy conspiracy theories surrounding these UFO sightings like what happened in Phoenix. It cool that we are getting a movie that explores this unexplained phenomenon.
The footage you see here focuses on Jacob Reynolds who is one of four men that mysteriously disappeared during the incident on March 13th, 1997. The tape gives us a look at the aspirations, relationships, and impact that he had on his family, friends, and communities.

Do you remember the crazy UFO sightings in Phoenix, Arizona back in 1997? It was a huge deal, as it's the largest UFO sighting in North America. It became known as the Phoenix Incident, and now there's a movie being released that's based on this unexplained event called The Phoenix Incident. We have a trailer for the film for you to watch below, along with five motion posters.
I've always been fascinated with the history of UFOs and those lights hovering over Phoenix were pretty damn interesting. I have no idea if UFOs are real or not, but the stories, videos, pictures, and interviews sure make for some interesting subject matter. Here's the synopsis for the upcoming film:

Exclusive: Every film needs a sales hook. UFO conspiracy thriller The Phoenix Incident has been flying under the radar even as viral seeds have been germinating across the web like sleeper cells of marketing data. The feature debut of veteran gaming director Keith Arem (Call of Duty, Titanfall) was shot quietly last year and inked select foreign distribution deals during November’s Afm. It screens next week for buyers here in La, accompanied by a transmedia viral campaign that Arem hopes will highlight a new kind of digital storytelling.
“The idea is that you will be on your phone leaving the theater, Googling the information to see if it’s real,” Arem told me.
Arem has two decades in video games under his belt as a talent director on the popular Call of Duty, Saints Row, Ghost Recon, Spiderman, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Persona, Prince of Persia, and Rainbow Six franchises.

Amanda Dyar: Infex is a unique concept that is hard to categorize solely as a book, movie, or game. Since this piece of interactive media has never really been utilized before, where in the world did you come up with the idea for both the technology and story of Infex?
Keith Arem: I’ve always been fascinated about the ability of an organism to change its surroundings from within.

Infex is a new interactive horror/thriller graphic novel from Keith Arem and Brandon Humphreys available only for iPad, and we have a look at some of the artwork in this app that blends what's being done now with graphic novels and motion comics for tablets and adds in a cinematic element.
The creators debuted Infex at the just concluded San Diego Comic-Con. It is one of the first interactive graphic novels to feature a celebrity voice cast including Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Terminator), Michael Wincott (The Crow), and William Fichtner (Drive Angry, Elysium).
Arem describes the app as "the next generation of graphic novels, incorporating animation, music, and sound to heighten user interactivity to levels that have never been seen before in a book." You can learn more at the rather spooky Infex website or on iTunes

The Los Angeles expo featured a panel titled 'The Voices of Call of Duty' which had voice actors from across the franchise answer questions from the audience. "To give everyone a kind of perspective, if you look at an average television show, a half-hour series, that has about 400 lines of dialogue, and a full motion picture is going to have around 1,500 lines of dialogue," he said. "By the time we add in 80, 90, 100 characters and all the soldiers, I think on Black Ops we were pushing 25, almost 30,000 lines of dialogue. Gregory Widen, the creator of the 1980's Highlander films, is set to adapt the popular graphic novel Ascend for theatrical production.
Ascend was created by Keith Arem and Christopher Shy, and describes the post-apocalyptic 'Purgatory Wars'. Apparently all hell has broken lose - in a rather literal sense. In the realm of Ascend, all of Heaven and Hell has ruptured into chaos and war, and the forces of good and evil are locked in combat for control of human souls.
The story of Ascend revolves around the two brothers Sebastian and Gideon. Gideon has risen through the ranks of angels to become one of the most powerful among the Legions of Heaven; however, Sebastian realizes he carries the 'key' to ending the war, and must somehow stop his own brother from carrying out his plan in order to prevent the entire realm of existence from falling into ruin.

If there's one thing I love, it's good old fashioned conspiracy theories. Nothing like making a bunch of stuff up to make yourself feel better and give those around you a reason to think you're even more insane than they had imagined. Two stories broke today that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Or do they?First up, is the so not news of a director not doing a movie he was never attached to direct in the first place. Huh? The trades has more:Paul Greengrass has opted out of helming another installment of Universal Pictures' successful Jason Bourne franchise, and Matt Damon's participation is not sealed. That's a blow for the studio looking to assemble another sequel to one of its most important franchises, but hardly a fatal one. Hollywood's top franchises, including the long-running James Bond series and Warner Bros.' Batman pics,...

Video games and movies are merging closer every day, so it’s not entirely shocking to learn that the director of a successful game – that would be Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Keith Arem is making the leap to movie director. He’ll kick off his film career for Frost Road, a thriller that finds a young man awakening from a car crash to discover – dun, dun duuur! – that he’s among the few survivors of a strange viral outbreak that has struck a small town on America’s East Coast.Apparently immune to the deadly bug, he struggles to stop the contagion from spreading across the planet. And, we assume, survives. Unless the sequel is being set up as a zombie film…Arem co-wrote the script and has producers on board, and he’s also developing the story as a graphic novel, most likely to help the thing get distribution.

While most of the action in a video game is controlled by the player, in-game cinematics and voice acting play a huge part in telling the story that you're controlling. So it's no surprise that there's a director behind the game much like a motion picture director. Now Variety reports director Keith Arem, the man behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the biggest and fastest selling video game release in history, is making the jump to features with Frost Road, the story of a young man who awakens from a car accident to discover he is one of few survivors in the aftermath of a mysterious outbreak that's struck a small East coast town. The main character, who is somehow immune to the contagion, tries to save the remaining survivors as he struggles to prevent the "deadly wave" from spreading across the planet. Sounds like a pretty epic directorial debut.
