Bruce Balton began in the TV business as a grip in the New York City
area in the late 1970s. He specialized in camera motion as a dolly grip
and crane arm grip. As the equipment evolved, Bruce began operating
jibs in the 1990s. Throughout his 30-year career, Bruce worked on some
of the most popular and watched programs and specials in the history of
television. Bruce was a former member of IATSE Local 600 and NABET.
Born in Queens, N.Y. and raised in New Hyde Park on Long Island, Bruce
moved to Milford, Pa. in the Pocono Mountains with his wife Terry,
where they raised two children, Dustin and Ryan, who is a jib and
Steadicam operator.
