Morris Hayes didn't know what to expect. It was early June of 1992, and the loquacious keyboard player was summoned to the Munich, Germany, hotel suite of mercurial music superstar Prince. Having made their debut at "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!", Nick Jonas and The Administration heads to 2010 Critics' Choice Movie Awards. On Wednesday, December 16, the Broadcast Film Critics Association announced that they have picked the side project of Jonas Brothers' own Nick Jonas as the awards' house band.
"We could not be more excited to have Nick Jonas & The Administration on our stage at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards," Tom Calderone, the president of VH1, said in a statement. "We pride ourselves at VH1 on presenting high-energy performances by top artists during our live events. Nick and his band will certainly continue that tradition, revealing another side of Nick that his fans haven't seen yet."
The appointment means that the five-men band will entertain the audience as well as keep the pace of the show moving. They will perform classic hits as well a few of their original songs between awards and commercials.

Nick Jonas, brother of the Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling Jonas Brothers, is headed out for his solo tour with Nick Jonas & The Administration in January of 2010. The tour will feature music from Nick's upcoming album, "Who I Am," to be released in stores on February 2.
The tour kicks off on January 2 in Dallas at the House of Blues and will wrap up on January 30 in Berkely, California at the Zellerbach Auditorium. All of the shows will be set in intimate settings to reflect the feel of his new album.
The Administration consists of John Fields on bass, drummer Michael Bland and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella. Guitarist David Ryan Harris played on the new album, but Sonny Thompson will join the band on tour.
Tickets for the show go on sale starting December 5 for dates in New York, Nashville, D.C., Chicago and Dallas and on December 12 for nationwide tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at LiveNation.
