‘Our Mother Touched So Many Lives’: How Princes William and Harry Will Honor the Late Princess Diana
As the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana nears, Prince William and Prince Harry are to honor their mother with a statue that will stand in the shadow of her old home in Kensington Palace in London.
The princes have formed a committee made up one of Diana’s sisters, some friends, experts, and charity contacts to help come up with the fitting tribute to her.
The statue will stand in a public area of Kensington Palace Gardens, the royals said in a statement released to People.

The competitive nature of the Scottish top flight is something that will always be questioned, but it cannot be denied that Celtic are regarded as one of the most successful clubs in world football when it comes to winning domestic trophies.
Since they were founded in 1887, the Bhoys have won 46 league titles, 36 Scottish Cups and 15 League Cups. That kind of record effectively means that there is disappointment in Glasgow if a league and cup double is not achieved in any given season.
Celtic were also crowned European champions in 1967 – so it does not take a genius to work out that the manager at the helm during that campaign features highly in this list – but he still faces competition for the number-one position.
It is safe to say that the likes of John Barnes and Tony Mowbray do not feature in our rankings, but with more than...

In this mega-bucks modern age where top level clubs thought nothing of spending £40 or £50 million during the last transfer window, it’s easy to forget that football hasn’t always been such big business and, in some parts of the world, still isn’t. Nevertheless, a big new signing can make all the difference to a club no matter at what level they play. Of course, if a team’s a bit strapped for cash then they can get a little creative to ensure that they get their man.
You may have heard of how top flight players like John Barnes and Ian Wright got their first transfers in exchange for training kit and equipment for their local club, but some transfer fees have been a little less pragmatic and a little more gastronomic. Yes, while a player is yet to be transferred for literally peanuts, there have still been...

Time is running out for the Republic of Ireland in Group C of the Europe World Cup qualifiers. After defeat to Sweden in their last game, qualification for Brazil is looking more unlikely than ever, and patience with Giovanni Trapattoni seems to be wearing thin. The “Boys in Green,” now need three wins from three to qualify for the World Cup while also relying on Sweden to drop points against Kazakhstan.
With things looking bleak for the current crop of players, perhaps it’s the best time to look back at some of the better moments in their history, ahead of their crunch game with Austria in Vienna.

Tinie Tempah and Dizzee Rascal have reportedly been approached to record with New Order. The band are preparing to re-release their 1990 football anthem 'World In Motion' as the official song for the England team during this summer's Euro 2012 finals. Tinie Tempah and Dizzee Rascal have allegedly been approached to re-record John Barnes's infamous rap on the track. A source told The Sun: "A couple of years ago New Order and the record label came within 24 hours of doing the song with Dizzee. It never happened but it's different this year - New Order are (more)...

If John Terry is found guilty in either the police investigation into his alleged racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand or their own, the Fa are sure to face as enormous a test as the (soon-to-be-ex) England captain himself. Fining clubs for the racist chanting of their fans is one thing, but what does the Fa do? Accept racism as an acceptable form of banter between ultra-competitive professional sportsmen? Or send out a message that racism in unacceptable in all its forms and come down on Jt like the proverbial tonne of bricks? If they did, it would be a welcome fly-in-the-face of some of the paltry sentences handed out by other Fa’s, such as the £2000 handed to then Spain national coach, Luis Aragones for calling Thierry Henry a “Lazy N****r” in 2005.

“Yeah, good one mate. I’ve not heard that one before.” John Barnes and Ian Rush are in London’s Berkley Square to promote Hyundai’s new game app, Hyundai Boot Shoot. To do so, Hyundai have recreated the app in real life; parking one of their i20 cars in the square, popping the boot open and Barnes and Rush are shooting footballs into it with impressive accuracy. A sizable crowd has turned up to watch them.
Of course, whenever Barnes makes a public appearance, it is unlikely that some wiseacre doesn’t make reference to his infamous rap which graced the middle eight of New Order’s England anthem, ‘World in Motion’. Today is no exception – a laddish-looking man calls out for a rendition of the rap and whilst Barnes’s retort perhaps isn’t the wittiest, it does the job and the heckler is silenced. Former football star John Barnes has reportedly agreed to replace Kemp and is already making his way to Norway where the adventure show is being filmed.
Insiders say that Martin wrenched his back and could barely move, making most of the challenges and tasks impossible for him. John will now take his place on a team within the nine remaining celebrity contestants.
A source told The Sun:

In his new foray into the near-future world of the techno-thriller, longtime science-fiction author John Barnes suffers from both a lack of focus and too specific a focus. Directive 51 features a nifty kickoff for what’s going to be a trilogy of post-apocalyptic tales, featuring apocalypse via a small group of people essentially committed to making modern civilization kill itself. Sadly, Barnes mostly squanders that intriguing premise in favor of preachy polemics and scenes that don’t take a wide enough view of the decaying world. Barnes’ central idea is irresistible. A small collection of teams and individuals works ...
