One of cinema's early comediennes, Dorothy Devore: between 1918 and 1930, the Ft. Worth-born actress was seen in nearly 100 movies, both features and shorts. 'Comediennes of the Silent Era' & film historian Anthony Slide at the American Cinematheque Film historian and author Anthony Slide, once described by Lillian Gish as “our preeminent historian of the silent film,” will attend the American Cinematheque's 2017 Retroformat program “Comediennes of the Silent Era” on Sat., May 6, at 7:30 p.m., at the Spielberg Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Hunter has worked at BAFTA for nearly nine years, and before that he worked in the Education team at the BFI. The drive to democratise access to getting into the arts is a common theme in his work, and crucial to the success of the Breakthrough Brits initiative. A budding film sound producer who lived through the Rwandan genocide is among this year’s BAFTA Scholarship recipients.
Hosea Ntaborwa is one of 16 students to receive a Prince William Scholarship in Film, Television and Games, supported by BAFTA and Warner Bros.
Ntaborwa, from south London, will receive £7,500 to study for a Diploma in Production Sound for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School (Nfts).
The 29-year-old was born in Rwanda and lived through the genocide of 1994, before moving to the UK aged 16. He graduated from the University of West London in 2009 with a Music Technology Specialist degree and currently works as a sales advisor in a clothing shop.

You Me At Six have released the first episode of their UK tour video diary. The band travelled to Leicester's O2 Academy on Saturday (March 17) to begin their 'Sinners Never Sleep' 2012 UK tour. The video - shot by filmmaker Tom Barnes - sees singer Josh Franceschi get beaten on FIFA '12 by fellow bandmate Max Helyer, while travelling to the venue on their tour bus.
