Won two Tony Awards: in 1960 as Best Scenic Designer (Dramatic) for
"Toys in the Attic," and in 1966 as Best Scenic Designer for "Man of La
Mancha." He also received two other Tony nominations: also in 1966, as
Best Costume Designer along with collaborator Patton Campbell for "Man
of La Mancha," and in 1970 as Best Scenic Designer for "Cry for Us
All."
