Arthur Bernède was born on 5 January 1871 in Redon, Ille-et-Vilaine, France. He was a writer, known for Judex (1963), L'Argent (1928) and Méphisto (1931). He died on 20 March 1937 in Paris, France.
Playwright, journalist, screenwriter, and novelist best known for creating the mysterious avenger known as Judex (created with filmmaker Louis Feuillade who directed the first Fantômas serials), and the villainous Belphegor, the so-called "Ghost of the Louvre".
