For years, fans have been asking for a follow-up to the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” and while the news surrounding it has come and gone – remember the one that Margot Robbie would have helmed? – there’s now a clear answer for all those who want to hit the high seas once more.
Sadly, it won’t be with the same characters that we’ve grown to know and love, but it will hopefully not affect our happiness levels as we enjoy the new adventures.
Filming For A “Pirates of the Caribbean” Reboot Set To Begin Next Year With Completed Script
No, this is not one of those false alarms, and while we know shows have been cancelled right after a script has been completed and characters even announced, there’s a better chance of this happening as studio execs are said to be enthusiastic about the new project.

It's been nearly seven years since Jack Sparrow graced the silver screen in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." In the years since then, Disney has toyed with various versions of a sixth movie in the multi-billion-dollar franchise. Now, we have word from legendary producer Jarry Bruckheimer that the new movie, whatever it may be, will indeed be a reboot. So don't expect to see Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom back in the saddle.
Speaking with Comicbook.com in honor of his upcoming film "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," Bruckheimer was asked whether he believes we'll see "Top Gun 3" or "Pirates of the Caribbean 6" happen first. He didn't go into detail, but he did suggest that "Pirates" is looking to make a fresh start with the upcoming entry. Here's what he had to say about it:
"It's hard to tell. You don't know, you really don't know.

Fans are speculating about Johnny Depp's possible return for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, which would pay off an old sitcom joke. The Good Place poked fun at the franchise, suggesting a sixth movie would be a punishment worthy of Hell. The next sequel is in the works, but whether Depp will return remains uncertain.
There's not much concrete information out there about Pirates of the Caribbean 6, and there's no telling whether Johnny Depp or the other original cast members will return — though Depp reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow would pay off a hilarious sitcom joke from six years ago. The last Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, debuted to overwhelmingly negative reviews back in 2017, effectively killing the once-great Disney franchise for years. While Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom both had cameos in Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp remained in a leading role,...

Video game adaptations are becoming more and more common, with the success of HBO's The Last of Us likely being responsible for inspiring many others, such as the upcoming Prime Video series Fallout. 2023's Gran Turismo is a video game adaptation, but not in the way you think. Starring David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Archie Madekwe and directed by Neill Blomkamp, Gran Turismo is inspired by the real-life journey of Jann Mardenborough, a passionate gamer who had the opportunity of a lifetime when Nissan offered him a position in their professional driving team. Such a curious story does deserve its time on the silver screen, but as expected, Gran Turismo takes some liberties with Mardenborough's journey in favor of storytelling drama. So, how much of Gran Turismo is true, and what are the main differences between the movie and Mardenborough's successful career?...

Sofia Coppola creatively forged her own path in filmmaking, avoiding comparisons to her father's work. Coppola's unique storytelling style led to awards for Best Director at both Venice and Cannes Film Festivals. Collaborating with top actors, she directs deeply personal stories on a minimalist budget with critical acclaim.
Sofia Coppola comes from filmmaking royalty, the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, the director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. However, this made industry expectations very high when she decided not to be an actress but set her sights on becoming a film director. However, she escaped the claims of nepotism by creating her own path in the film industry. She chose not to make movies comparable to her father's and instead created deeply personal stories on a low budget.
This turned out to be a perfect decision for the director. Sofia Coppola was the first American woman to be awarded the Golden Lion,...

Pirates of the Caribbean 6: Casting Rumors and Everything Else We Know About This Sequel (or reboot)
Additional reporting by Chris Bumbray
Drink up me hearties, yo ho, as the question of whether or not we’ll ever get a Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is a complicated one. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was one of Disney’s biggest long-shots back when it first premiered in 2003, yet it eventually turned into one of the most profitable franchises that the studio could have ever hoped for. While the first film is still arguably the pinnacle of the entire franchise, it doesn’t mean that fans and audiences haven’t enjoyed watching the sequels as the decades have rolled on.
That being said, Pirates of the Caribbean hasn’t released a new instalment in nearly 6 years and fans are starting to get a little antsy about when they’ll get to return to the briny deep. Of course, audiences can’t be too hasty as the franchise...

During the reading of the U.K. government’s spring budget on Wednesday, Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt revealed a 40% corporate tax relief for film and TV studios through 2034.
The plan also includes a new tax credit for independent films shot in the U.K. that have a budget less than $19 million (£15 million), and a 5% increase in credit for visual effects in film and high-end TV along with the removal of the 80% cap.
“We have become Europe’s largest film and TV production center, with Idris Elba, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom all filming their latest productions here,” Hunt said. “Studio space in the U.K. has doubled in the last three years, and at the current rate of expansion, next year we will be second only to Hollywood globally.”
Hunt continued to say that the government had listened “carefully to representations from companies like Pinewood, Warner Bros. and Sky Studios” when making the decision.

The U.K. government of Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak unveiled a 40 percent corporate tax relief for film and TV studio facilities until 2034 on Wednesday, introduced a new independent film incentive of 40 percent and announced an increase to an existing incentive for visual effects. Keanu Reeves turned down Captain Marvel due to scheduling conflicts with John Wick: Chapter 3. While Gal Gadot could not star in Barbie due to scheduling issues, her casting influence remains. Orlando Bloom turned down Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to focus on other projects.
As strange as it may seem, several actors have turned down roles in movies that crossed the billion-dollar mark at the box office. Depending on their contract, this means they likely passed on a payday of (hundreds of) millions of dollars. However, some actors have explained in interviews that they turned down these roles for respectable creative reasons, or it did not work with their schedule — or they just didn't realize how much money it was going to make.
These cases also sometimes reflect the noticeable distinction in Hollywood between movies that are likely to gross a billion dollars and movies that are noticed by awards shows.

Stellan Skarsgård is among the rare group of actors to have a filmography as diverse as his. From being the beloved Marvel character Dr. Erik Selvig to being Luthen Rael in the Star Wars Universe or playing Orlando Bloom’s father in the Pirates of the Caribbean, the head of the Skarsgård clan has played numerous fan-favorite roles.
Stellan Skarsgård in Good Will Hunting

Kingdom of Heaven 2 could have explored Crusades-era history, which would have made a compelling sequel. The risk of tarnishing Gladiator's legacy with a disappointing sequel makes Gladiator 2 a significant risk for Ridley Scott.
Another historical drama directed by Ridley Scott arguably deserves a sequel more than Gladiator. During his long career as a director, Ridley Scott has helmed several historical dramas. Even his most recent film, Napoleon, presented a heavily fictionalized account of the titular French emperor. However, even though the auteur has created many films in the genre, Gladiator remains one of his most iconic and beloved works.
Even though nearly two and a half decades have passed since its release, Ridley Scott's Gladiator stands out as a cinematic masterpiece because of its scintillating portrayal of Maximus' awe-inspiring underdog journey, ancient Roman politics, and epic gladiatorial battles. The movie's lasting legacy establishes why it has been considered...

Jann Mardenborough was the third Gt Academy winner, not the first, with Lucas Ordóñez taking the title in 2008. The Gran Turismo film took creative liberties with history, creating fictional characters to dramatize events. Only 22 drivers graduated from Gt Academy program from 2008-2016, with Mardenborough being the biggest success.
While Gran Turismo makes it seem like Jann Mardenborough was the first winner of Gt Academy, it was actually someone else. The 2023 racing movie from PlayStation Productions describes itself as being "based on a true story," but Gran Turismo takes its creative liberties. The film creates a relatable underdog narrative about a gamer with dreams of becoming a professional racer. Nissan marketing executive Danny Moore (Orlando Bloom) simultaneously creates the Gran Turismo Academy to sell the dream of becoming a real race car driver, establishing the player base of the Gran Turismo game as a new Nissan market.

Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy excelled at many things, but special mention should be given to the films’ action set pieces and the attention to detail. In one of the crucial scenes in the second film, The Two Towers, Saruman’s army of Uruk-hai march towards the Helm’s Deep fortress, and the army at Aragorn’s command prepares to counter the attack. As the Orc-breeds line up in front of the fortress, one of the old archers under Aragorn’s command prematurely shoots an arrow.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
For years, fans believed that if this one mistake from the archer had been avoided, casualties would have been much less for the defenders before Gandalf and Éomer arrived with the Rohirrim. However, an expert archer reveals that the scene in the film was technically accurate and explains what happened in the scene.

Plot: Cash is trying to live an honest and quiet life, but when Big Cat forces him back into her services, he proves capable of anything to protect the town and the only family he has left.
Review: After 2020’s Fatman, I’ve been patiently waiting to see what the Nelms Brothers would get up to with their next venture. Their more low-budget approach to action has a lot of potential, especially with the right lead. And while they don’t have Mel Gibson, they do have Orlando Bloom re-entering the action genre. But this isn’t some bombastic, new take on blockbusters. Red Right Hand is similar to the action fare you’d find in the bargain bin at Walmart. The action itself is very staged and low impact. And the story fails to surprise, following down the same expected path that these movies often take. But there are some moments that stand out.

Red Right Hand is a character-driven modern Western, differing from typical action thrillers, centered on redemption and family. Orlando Bloom shines as conflicted Cash, balancing stoicism with desperation, navigating morality, and survival. The film's strong narrative is undercut by conventional execution, missing the mark on thematic depth and a satisfying ending.
Red Right Hand follows a familiar trajectory and fits neatly into the growing modern Western sub-genre currently led by the likes of Yellowstone. Although classified as an action thriller, these elements are pretty tame despite graphic violence and bloodshed. The film follows a more character-driven story, with our lead, Cash (Orlando Bloom), grappling with his past as he is resolved to live a peaceful life with his brother-in-law and niece.

The Pirates of the Caribbean films began with The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003. Over the next 14 years, Disney would go on to produce four more films in the franchise. As of 2017, the film franchise did not seem to be slowing down at all, with fans still watching the sequels. However, the franchise hit a bit of a roadblock when, in 2018, while plans for a sixth film were underway, Johnny Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard posted an editorial piece in The Washington Post alleging that Depp had abused her. Disney parted ways with Depp, and he was removed as Captain Jack Sparrow, his infamous and Oscar-nominated character from Pirates of the Caribbean. Whether you agree with Depp or Heard in the 2022 defamation trail, where Depp sued Heard and won, it's clear from the films so far that Pirates of the Caribbean is a franchise built upon his character.

Shadowfax is the most powerful horse in Lotr due to his enhanced intelligence, speed, and strength. Shadowfax comes from a legendary line of horses called the Mearas with a long lineage of powerful steeds. The Mearas are challenging to master, but Shadowfax proves to be the greatest horse ridden by the skilled riders of Rohan.
There's an important reason Gandalf's (Ian McKellen) Shadowfax is the most powerful horse in The Lord of the Rings. From the moment the Lord of All Horses heeds Gandalf's whistling call across the Riddermark, it's clear that he differs from the other horses within the trilogy. The silvery-grey horse inspires awe and respect in Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), who even bow in his presence. The reason behind Shadowfax's power is revealed in a small but important line spoken by Legolas.

Violence is unavoidable for Orlando Bloom in the upcoming action thriller Red Right Hand. The latest from Fatman helmers Ian and Eshom Nelms puts the Gran Turismo star in the shoes of a man who's drawn back into the orbit of a known criminal kingpin and forced to do her bidding to protect his family. Unsurprisingly, working with such a crooked figure means making some crooked deals and getting your hands dirty when things go south. Collider can share an exclusive clip from the upcoming film showing Bloom caught in that exact scenario and forced to start shooting when the jig is up.
