She worked primarily in East German DEFA productions. Perhaps her best known performance on screen was as a beautiful, but haughty princess in the children's fable Das singende, klingende Bäumchen (1957). She appeared in several TV movies during the 60s. As her film career declined, she returned to her musical roots and toured East Germany as a singer. By the mid-70s, she also resumed her theatrical career and became fairly prolific as a stage manager, assistant director and director on stages in Berlin and Potsdam.
