"Office Space," Mike Judge's satirical take on white collar office culture, disappointed at the box office but soon became a cult favorite after it arrived in 1999. That was mostly thanks to home video sales and Comedy Central airing the film multiple times after its theatrical run. But "Office Space" thoroughly deserved whatever cult status it attained, because it always felt very much ahead of its time.
The film stars Ron Livingston as Peter Gibbons, a put-upon programmer who spends his days amid the bleakly oppressive environs of software company Initech. After being hypnotized to stop caring about his job, Peter takes a lackadaisical approach to work and surprisingly begins to climb his way up the corporate ladder. But when his colleagues Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) and Michael Bolton (David Herman) are fired, Peter and his friends mastermind a plan to steal money from Initech via a software virus. The...

Monday’s Season 25 premiere of The Voice answered a question that had been left dangling since it was announced that Dan + Shay would be joining returnees John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Reba McEntire on the coaching panel: Would four-chair turns still be called four-chair turns… or five-, since technically both Dan and Shay would have seats?
The answer — and maybe this was only of such keen interest to Voice recappers — was that four-chair turns would remain four-chair turns (perhaps since the new coaches’ dual seat swivels as one). And right off the bat, a four-chair turn was what we got.

Office Space is celebrating its 25th anniversary following its delayed path to success, although hopefully no one would get their ass kicked for saying something like that.
Released Feb. 19, 1999, director Mike Judge’s enduring and endlessly quotable workplace satire follows computer programmer Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston), who decides to stop caring about his day job and teams up with Initech co-workers Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) to defraud the company. The Fox comedy — featuring such on-the-rise performers as Jennifer Aniston, John C. McGinley, Gary Cole and Stephen Root — collected just $10 million at the time but became a cult favorite after finding a following through cable and home video.
Other standouts from the cast include Richard Riehle as engineer liaison Tom Smykowski, who defends his job (“I have people skills!”) to Paul Willson and McGinley as the two Bobs who are put in charge of layoffs. In...

"I believe you have my stapler." Odds are, the majority of people who enjoy comedy films would be able to tell you that quote is from "Office Space." Directed by "Beavis and Butthead" creator Mike Judge, it was his first live-action feature and would probably rank near the top of any list of things he's made if one were to conduct an informal survey of his fans. That's the way it is now. In 1999 when the film first hit theaters? Not so much. "Office Space" majorly disappointed against high expectations and, at least at first, seemed like it was going to be forgotten to time. Then a straight-up cult developed around the workplace comedy and it's now a part of the fabric of popular culture.

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, January 29, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelor 2024 edition with headliner Joey Graziadei did hit the air, and we saw another couple of women get eliminated. One of them even quit. Tonight's new episode kicked off with footage of Joey taking: Rachel, Erika, Evalin, Jess, Kelsey T., Lauren, Lexi, Maria, Rachel and Taylor out on a group date. During it, they tried on wedding dresses to go walk down the aisle with Joey. There was an audience there and everything. Lauren was upset about her dad passing away a couple of months ago. So, it was hard for her to have fun and really get into the group date. Meanwhile, Joey mingled and talked with some of the women. Rachel won a first dance with Joey. They danced to Michael Bolton singing "When A Man Loves A Woman," and they kissed at one point.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Monday’s episode of The Bachelor.
Joey Graziadei is down 10 women after night one at The Bachelor mansion, and it’s time to get down to business.
But first, a tennis break. After what was surely a long and tiring night of filming, the tennis pro takes host Jesse Palmer to the court for some lessons while the women move into the mansion. “This is why you’re The Bachelor. You’re such a good communicator!” Jesse tells him.
Joey says that after night one he’s “more hopeful than ever” that his wife could be among the remaining women. If he can survive week one.
There’s already a little bit of drama brewing in the mansion between Taylor and Jess, which is bound to spill over into the dates. The first group date goes to Rachel, Taylor, Lexi, Kelsey T., Evalin,...

Captain America’s Intro Scene In The Avengers Was A Lot More Different Than The Final Cut! ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia; IMDb )
Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is a righteous man who lost over sixty years of his life after he got frozen in the ice. Chris Evans portrayed the role with great conviction and made it a fan-favorite character. In 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger film’s end credit scene, we saw him wake up in the present era, and after that, in 2012, he brought in Nick Fury to fight against Loki and the Chitauri invasion. But there is a gap between the 2011 movie and the events of the 2012 MCU flick.

Billions, Season 7. Photo Credit: Mark Seliger/Showtime. One thing we’ve learned from the show Billions is that, apparently, the more money you have, the more you appreciate music. Not only has Billions used several iconic pieces of music as part of its soundtrack, but nearly all of the show’s key characters regularly have lines referencing songs or artists, and several artists have appeared (as themselves) on the show, including Metallica, Michael Bolton, Ben Folds, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and indie darling Jason Isbell. The show’s creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, are big music fans themselves — Koppelman’s father was the “K” in ’90s label Sbk Records — and they spoke to us about the importance of finding the right music for the show. The huge success of "Aladdin," particularly the success of Robin Williams' performance as the Genie, changed everything for American animation. Disney started using more and more celebrities in its voice casts until the art of voice acting became something big-name actors would talk about as being an "easy" gig they could do in their pajamas in a short few days, while studios turned stunt casting into a marketing ploy that hurts the movies themselves.
While we most commonly associate this practice with American voice casts, in reality, Disney does this abroad too — with A-list actors and celebrities doing voices in international dubs for their movies. One such actor who has done dubbing for a Disney movie is Jackie Chan, the legendary action star and physical comedian. Chan has also had a long and prolific career in animation (he even had his own animated series!), playing characters in "Kung Fu Panda,...

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping should have been a hit movie. It came out when Andy Samberg was riding high on Saturday Night Live, thanks to the innovative, viral shorts he made with his crew, The Lonely Island. Their “Lazy Sunday” and “D*ck in a Box” shorts were early YouTube smash hits. This movie featured Samberg as Conor4Real, a pop star who split with his former boy band Style Boyz to go solo. It was a loving send-up of the music industry, with Conor having some similarities to Samberg’s pal Justin Timberlake and his split from Nsync. Always one to appreciate a good joke, Timberlake had an extended cameo in the film as Conor4Real’s chef.
Timberlake wasn’t the only one to contribute a cameo, with the cast list a who’s who of SNL vets including Tim Meadows, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Sarah Silverman,...

Bob Dylan has been writing songs for decades. While he has had quite a few hits under his own name, other musicians made some Dylan songs more famous. He also wrote songs with other artists that he never released himself. Here are seven surprising songs that Dylan wrote.
‘Wagon Wheel’
In 2004, Old Crow Medicine Show released “Wagon Wheel,” the lead single on their debut album. Since then, musician Darius Rucker released a popular cover of the song. While Ketch Secor, the lead singer of Old Crow Medicine Show, wrote the verses to the song, he borrowed the chorus and melody from a 1973 Dylan demo entitled “Rock Me Mama.”
“Bob Dylan cast a spell with every song he made, particularly in 1973, when he wrote that chorus,” Secor told Relix. “I’m convinced that he put down his legal pad after he wrote that chorus, and he scrapped it because he wrote ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.

“[It’s] about being open to that joy that you can find in everyday life,” Bolton tells Consequence about the title track. “Sometimes you have to be willing to see it, to be touched by it. It can sneak up on you and if you embrace it, that joy can really turn your world around. Then you start to see life through a different lens, a more positive outlook. After being saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” bell on “New York Night,” Medusa was on a mission to prove she deserved her spot in Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer” finale. She clawed her way back into the competition, taking out Gargoyle and Mantis in the “Battle of the Saved.” Next, the snake-headed songstress belted her way through the “Quarter Finals (British Invasion Night)” and sent home California Roll in the “Semi-Finals,” the quintet that originally defeated her.
With just Macaw standing between Medusa and the Golden Mask trophy, she wowed panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger with performances of “Elastic Heart” by Sia and “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance. She said after the latter, “This means so much to me, and, the fact that I got to end my journey with my sister’s favorite song, and,...

It was déjà vu for David Archuleta on Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” The 32-year old performer who had been masquerading as Macaw all season finished in second place to Medusa, the same position he landed on Season 7 of “American Idol” when he lost to David Cook. His emotional journey of self-discovery ended with performances of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All By Myself” by Eric Carmen. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong correctly guessed the musician’s identity, but Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg were off the mark.
“We knew we were coming on this, going out of our comfort zone and doing something different,” David told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “I didn’t know it was going to be so much fun. It’s just been healing being able to be the Macaw.”
Ken got emotional, stating, “When...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9, episode 14 season finale of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 17 on Fox.
Like a river, Bishop Briggs kept a steady flow throughout Season 9 of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” — and her perseverance was rewarded with the championship. Briggs, as Medusa, won this season’s top prize and was finally unmasked on Wednesday night’s finale, along with runner-up David Archuleta, revealed as the Macaw.
Briggs, who performed the most of any contestant this season, sealed her victory with performances of “Elastic Heart,” by Sia, and “Welcome to the Black Parade,” by My Chemical Romance. Although Briggs said singing under the Medusa costume was a challenge, she pointed out that it was nothing compared to what she did last year.

So from the start, it was pretty easy to tell it was them on “The Masked Singer” – and indeed, the five-person group was unmasked as California Roll on Thursday’s show, which also doubled as the Season 9 semifinals.
For their first song, “Paparazzi,” group member Scott Hoying said they tried to avoid doing any harmonies at first, “so we could hide the iconic Pentatonix harmony sound for at least a minute. For the first minute, I was trying to really change my voice. But it didn’t work, because every comment on every video was like, ‘I knew from the beginning it was Pentatonix and I was confirmed as soon as they all came in.

On May 23, 2023, the streaming service Max will debut a reboot of "Clone High," the Canadian animated series created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence that initially ran in 2002 and 2003.
For those unfamiliar with the series, it had something of an odd premise.
