Willy Brandt was born on December 18, 1913 in Lübeck [now Schleswig-Holstein], Germany. He was married to Brigitte Seebacher, Rut Brandt and Carlota Thorkildsen. He died on October 8, 1992 in Unkel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

Deutschland. He was followed by Helmut Schmidt (SPD) in 1974.
