Peter Brasch (born * 18. September 1955 in Cottbus, Germany; died + 28.
Juni 2001 in Berlin, Germany) was a German author and writer of
screenplays, stage plays and radio plays.
Brasch was son of Austrian-Jewish immigrants in England, who fled from
persecution of the Jews in Germany in 1939 and came back to Germany in
1946. He studied German philology until expatriation of Wolf Bierman in
East Germany. Because of Brasch's protest he has been ex-matriculated.
He is the brother of actor
Klaus Brasch,
the author and director
Thomas Brasch and
the radio journalist
Marion Brasch.
The Brasch siblings were known for partly speaking critically of the
system in East Germany, where all of them used to live in at one time
or another.
