Strident anti-Communist labor leader of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Motion Picture Machine Operators (I.A.T.S.E.), which represented stagehands in Hollywood from 1945-53. He cooperated with the government in revealing which members were suspected or accused of being "communists" and helped blacklist them from working in the film industry.
