The second season of House Of Villains is finally going to happen. The names of the reality television stars have just been released. The list of villains is quite impressive. Reaching deep into the history of Survivor, there is a previous winner (and villain) fans will love to see return to reality television.
Previous Survivor Winners’ Returns To Reality Television
There have been several Survivor winners who have returned to reality television. Some of these previous winners have done quite well in their attempts to win the prize in new shows. Even though their Survivor days may not be over, they made the choice to branch out and try new things.
Amber Mariano, the wife of “Boston Rob” Mariano, competed with her husband on The Amazing Race. The first and only woman to win Survivor twice, Sandra Diaz-Twine, appeared on the second season of The Traitors. Also starring in the...

Rob Mariano made his name as Boston Rob on the hit reality TV series Survivor. He then watched several of his former Survivor allies and enemies cash in on their infamy with a role in the reality show The Traitors. Rob recently said he would be willing to return to Survivor or try out for The Traitors. However, he said he would only do it on one condition.
Here is what Mariano said it would take to get him back into the world of Survivor or to attempt to win The Traitors.
Boston Rob Willing To Return To Reality TV
Boston Rob made his name on Survivor. He originally competed on Survivor: Marquesas, Survivor: All-Stars, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and Survivor: Winners at War. He had his biggest success as the sole survivor on Survivor: Redemption Island. He also served as a mentor on Survivor: Island of the Idols and his wife,...

It’s no wonder that “Boston” Rob Mariano is playing this updated version of the Howie Mandel–hosted game show, Deal or No Deal Island. The five-time Survivor competitor will be a tough challenger for the 12 other contestants to beat on the Banker’s private island as they all retrieve briefcases filled with more than $200 million in cash. Mariano, who celebrates his 20th wedding anniversary to Survivor sweetheart Amber Brkich in 2025, reveals his strategy.. What was your approach to winning? “Boston” Rob Mariano: It’s a new game, a new format. You’ll see we’re all figuring it out as we’re playing. In my strategic mind, I wanted to [know], “How can I get an advantage? What can I use in my favor?” I think the audience is going to love seeing me dissecting it in real-time. The Survivor Season 45 finale is here, and fans are excited to see who takes home the $1 million prize and the title of Sole Survivor. Dee Valladares, Austin Li Coon, Julie Alley, Jake O’Kane, and Katurah Topps made it to the finale as the final five. And Dee and Austin are continuing to explore their love connection. So, are the two contestants dating after the show? Here’s what we know.
Are Dee Valladares and Austin Li Coon still dating after ‘Survivor’ 45?
Survivor Season 45 features a showmance between Dee Valladares and Austin Li Coon. Dee and Austin established a close connection post-merge, and they’ve worked together on nearly every vote leading up to the finale. Dee and Austin don’t try to hide their connection, which is a potentially dangerous move in the game. Additionally, Austin made it clear he’d never betray Dee because of their close alliance (and feelings). However,...

At the start of “Survivor 43” it was looking like series history would be made if they had become the first season to vote five women out in a row. Thankfully they dodged setting what would have been an unfortunate record, but sadly “Survivor 44” is already in the same position. Setting aside the medevac of Bruce Perreault on Day 1, four women have once again been the first four voted out of a “Survivor” game. If the players extend it to a fifth next week, they will make history as the first and only cast to eliminate five women out in a row.
As things stand, the game will remain in the three tribe format for at least one more episode. Ratu voted Maddy Pomilla out first, Tika is responsible for sending home both Helen Li and Sarah Wade, and Soka ousted Claire Rafson after she sat her out for three straight immunity challenges.

CBS’ Survivor is back for its 44th season, and these contestants are ready to outwit, outplay and outlast like never before. The premiere introduced a new hidden (or not so hidden) immunity idol, had three medical interventions, and showed the first successful use of the Shot in the Dark. Watching this premiere felt like watching history in the making. And as we look forward to history being made in the rest of this season, we can also look back on some of Survivor’s biggest moments from the past. Who can forget the whirlwind romance between “Boston” Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich? The dynamic duo fought their way to the Final Tribal Council, only to make their tribemates vote between them for a winner. Although everyone was anxiously waiting to see who would be crowned as the Sole Survivor, the real surprise came moments before that, when Mariano got down...

Survivor is one of those shows that is made great by the character of the players and the work of the editors.
A jury of booted players always chooses the winner, but sometimes the winner is a surprise even to production.
It's up to the editors to craft a satisfying narrative based on the footage they have but still make sure the outcome isn't too obvious. Thirty-nine days (or 26 in the last three seasons) yields a lot of material, so you'd think they'd always have enough to go on.
Not always. Sometimes, making the winner appear deserving seems impossible, so the players' relationships and strategies are embellished or tossed aside in favor of an entertaining throughline. It hasn't always worked.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for many seasons of Survivor.

Unlike Big Brother, showmances aren’t a regularity in Survivor. Whereas there is a Big Brother showmance almost every season, the contestants in the other CBS reality competition series aren’t too focused on finding love. However, sometimes, the Survivor castaways can’t deny a romantic connection, and they pursue a relationship on the show. And the last time a showmance formed in Survivor was in season 37, aka Survivor: David vs. Goliath.

At the beginning of Survivor Season 37, producers placed Kara Kay and Dan Rengering on the Goliath tribe. Kara, a 30-year-old from San Diego, CA, worked as a realtor, and Dan, a 28-year-old from Gainesville, Fl, worked as a Swat officer. And immediately, the two castaways hit it off.
In the first episode, Dan called Kara his “kryptonite.

Survivor champ and The Challenge: USA winner Sarah Lacina called out Tony Vlachos for his real job as a police officer, eventually leading to one of the most successful alliances in franchise history, Cops-R-Us. During a recent interview, the Game Changers winner admitted production played a role in helping her discover Tony’s true identity.
Sarah Lacina reveals how producers helped her identify Tony Vlachos as a cop
Speaking to podcast Challenge Mania during a February 2023 appearance, Iowa-based investigator Sarah Lacina noticed Tony Vlachos during casting and felt he looked, dressed, and walked like a cop.
Additionally, Sarah recalled him repeatedly getting brought up in her interviews and realized producers “lit up” when she identified him as a police officer, clueing her in. When asked about using production as an edge in the game, the Iowa native noted she used her Cagayan experience with them to help her game in subsequent seasons.

The castaways of “Survivor 43” have positioned themselves to set a new record next week — all they need to do is vote out a fifth woman in a row. So far the cast has only eliminated females: Morriah Young, Justine Brennan, Nneka Ejere and Lindsay Carmine were the first four players voted out, matching a franchise record. If they continue on this path and vote another woman out next week, they will go down in infamy as the record holders for longest succession of female eliminations to start a season. Yikes!
Luckily, as it stands in Gold Derby’s racetrack odds, the cast is not headed toward setting such a disastrous record. Instead, Geo Bustamante leads our current predictions to be eliminated in Episode 5 at 19/25. He is followed, however, by four women with decent odds to go: Cassidy Clark at 6/1 and Jeanine Zheng, Elisabeth ‘Elie’ Scott and Noelle Lambert all at...

Three weeks ago, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst dubbed the just-ended “Winners at War” as “The G.S.O.S.O.A.T.” — in other words, “The greatest season of ‘Survivor’ of all time.” What with 20 former champs competing against one another, he told Entertainment Weekly, “They are absolutely killing it. Game-play at a level we have never seen before.”
But after the finale last Wednesday when Tony Vlachos was crowned as the Sole Survivor, we asked whether you agreed with Jeff that Season 40 — aka “the season on steroids” — was the ultimate in outwitting, outplaying and outlasting as the reality competition’s longtime motto states.

(Warning: This post contains major spoilers for the Season 40 finale of “Survivor.”)
The 40th season of “Survivor,” a.k.a. “Survivor: Winners at War,” came to a close with a supersized finale on Wednesday that saw one competitor walk away with a $2 million check and become the long-running CBS competition’s newest two-time “Sole Survivor. “
Tony Vlachos was the player with the honor of winning “Winners at War,” having previously been crowned the champion of Season 28, “Survivor: Cagayan.”
“Survivor: Winners at War” featured 20 legendary winners from the first 39 seasons of “Survivor” returning to compete against each other in the 20th anniversary edition of the competition. These winners included Vlachos, Natalie Anderson, Tyson Apostol, Danni Boatwright, Sophie Georgina Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Yul Kwon, Sarah Lacina, Amber Mariano, “Boston” Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Nick Wilson and Ethan Zohn.

It seems like only yesterday the 20 returning “Survivor” champions returned for an epic clash in “Winners at War,” but now we’ve already reached the Season 40 finale. Heading into Wednesday’s three-hour event, only five castaways remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos. But there were 14 players living on the Edge of Extinction who were itching for their chance to return to the game: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Jeremy Collins and Nick Wilson. The 20th contestant, Sandra Diaz-Twine, quit after being voted out on Day 16.

Most “Survivor” devotees are betting on Tony Vlachos to claim the title of Sole Survivor on the 40th season of the CBS show, “Winners at War.” The biggest argument made for predicting his ultimate victory on the three-hour finale this Wednesday, May 13? He is the only one of the 20 previous champs competing on this so-called “season on steroids” whose name has never been written down during a Tribal Council. He might be twitchy as an itchy squirrel sometimes, but he has shown off both his leadership skills, his physical prowess and endurance and even his social game.
That is why an overwhelming 62% voted in our Gold Derby poll for Tony to win it all and become just the second winner to win “Survivor” twice since Sandra Diaz-Twine, who left the season early after being blindsided with her own immunity idol and quit once she got to the Edge of Extinction.

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Tony Vlachos still has yet to receive a single vote at tribal council. Considering how much of a known threat he was heading into this epic 40th season, that is quite the accomplishment indeed. When this New Jersey police officer originally played in “Survivor: Cagayan,” his cutthroat attitude and penchant for lying made him one of the most slippery villains to ever win CBS’s reality TV show. He returned in “Survivor: Game Changers,” but his reputation got the best of him and he was the second player voted out.
“I’m on probation,” Tony joked in this season’s premiere when he first stepped foot on the Dakal beach. He desperately wanted to find a hidden immunity idol, but he knew if he disappeared he’d be on the chopping block. Tony’s tribe first went to tribal council on Day 3, but...

Save for longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, there have been no participants who better define the CBS reality TV show than Sandra Diaz-Twine and Rob Mariano. Combined, these two players have appeared on a total of 11 seasons, including the current “Winners at War,” while Sandra still retains her record as the only two-time winner of the game.
Their strategic choices as castaways helped define how other players learned how to “outwit, outlast and outplay” as they voluntarily subjected themselves to the often harsh conditions of living in the wild. There is a reason why last season this pair was chosen to act as mentors to participants of “Island of the Idols,” even getting their their heads turned into giant tiki shrines.

The rules are simple. If you find fire tokens on the Edge of Extinction, you can buy advantages in the all-important “Survivor” return challenge. Unfortunately for Yul Kwon, he was the only voted-out player who didn’t get the opportunity to acquire any island currency, and people are understandably bummed. (Read our episode recap here.)
As this is the first season ever to incorporate fire tokens, there are obviously kinks in the system that need to be worked out for future installments. Notably, why does making it further in the game, as Yul did, essentially punish him from earning an advantage in the return challenge? Just last week there was a fire token goose chase in which four wooden coins were hidden up on the cliff. That meant double eliminees Parvati Shallow and Sandra Diaz-Twine (had she not quit) had a golden opportunity to find fire tokens alongside the people...

“I’m captive right now, but I’m plotting a way to escape this wretched prison that they call the Edge of Extinction,” declared Wendell Holland just moments after his elimination from “Survivor: Winners at War.” This former winner of “Survivor: Ghost Island” was voted out of the newly merged Koru tribe by a 9-3 vote over Adam Klein. “Once I get out of here I’m gonna do what I need to do,” Wendell promised in his end-of-show exit interview. “The war is not over.”
Everybody except for Michele Fitzgerald (Wendell’s former girlfriend) and Nick Wilson (Wendell’s second in command) voted to send him packing. Right after Sandra Diaz-Twine underestimated fellow tribe member Denise Stapley‘s strategic prowess after she used two immunity idols against her and voted her out two weeks ago during “Survivor: Winners at War,” here comes her “Island of the Idols” mentor chum Rob Mariano who once again botched his chance to win a challenge as he flubbed another puzzle.
Rob had several advantages on his side including three fire tokens with bonus coin courtesy of wife and fellow Edge of Extinction resident Amber Mariano. He wisely used them to buy an idol as well as an advantage in the challenge. But when he faced off with Tyson Apostol, Rob failed to lift a ball into the right spot to complete the test and get back into the main game. Instead, he was left scowling amongst the other jury members during tribal.

We’re midway through the landmark 40th season of “Survivor,” and one thing is clear: 60-minute episodes just aren’t enough. Too much good material is being left on the cutting room floor — case in point, an entire pizza challenge went unaired from last week’s episode. (Adam Klein confirmed on social media his Yara tribe won the yummy reward comp.) Recently we asked “Survivor: Winners at War” viewers whether they were okay with 60-minute episodes, and only 5% said yes. The other 95% demanded more, more, more, but their poll results were split between wanting 90-minute editions and two-hour shows.

The highly anticipated “Survivor” return challenge is coming up soon, which means one of the inhabitants at the Edge of Extinction is about to re-enter the game for a shot at winning the $2 million prize. With Sandra Diaz-Twine calling it quits last week, there are currently eight voted-out castaways living on Extinction Island: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Tyson Apostol, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow and Yul Kwon. However, thanks to Season 40’s new fire token twist, both Boston Rob and Natalie might have an edge — pardon the pun — in the return challenge because of their growing piggy banks.

Whether you love her or loathe her, Sandra Diaz-Twine definitely left a lasting mark on the reality show known as “Survivor.” As of now, she is the only two-time winner of the game — a distinction that will be changed once “Winners at War” is completed.
Initially, on her fifth season on the show, she exhibited some savvy gameplay and joined in targeting Amber Mariano — the wife of fellow castaway and “Island of the Idol” mentor Rob Mariano. Sandra even positioned herself as provider when she showed her fellow castaways how to easily catch fish by throwing a net on the rocks near the shoreline.
Luckily for her, she was part of the Dakal tribe, which had established a streak of challenge wins early on. Not that she contributed much. The two-time champ participated in only once when she helped to put together a puzzle. The rest of the time, the...

Ok, folks. We sort of saw this coming. Let’s just say the Queen wasn’t quite smooth criminal self this time around. I mean, at one point, she tried to position herself as a provider by showing her tribe mates an easy way to catch fish with a net. In the past, she has been more of a conniver than a nurturer. Perhaps it was the fact that Sandra Diaz-Twine, the only two-time winner of “Survivor” who has participated in five seasons, was up against other past champs, who had their own bag of tricks. Or that she relished every opportunity to sit out challenges requiring physical feats when the rival tribe had fewer players.
Then there was her declaration on the third episode of “Survivor: Winners at War” when Sandra told us, “Here I am for the fifth time, and once this is over, I’m retiring from the game.

We’re about one-half of the way through “Survivor: Winners at War,” and viewers have finally seen how the fire tokens can be used to impact a person’s game. In the sixth episode, Tyson Apostol found an idol nullifier at the Edge of Extinction after the clue told the players to turn over stones. While Rob Mariano and Amber Mariano climbed the cliff, Tyson was the only castaway who realized that the phrase “Then again, sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time” referred to the tide coming in.
Tyson sold the idol nullifier to Parvati Shallow for one of her four fire tokens. “Boom! I’m the proud papa of a fire token,” Tyson exclaimed. “So now I have to decide what to do with it.” Many players would have pocketed the fire token in the hopes of acquiring more in the future. Not Tyson.

Sandra Diaz-Twine was just voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War” in the one of the most cutthroat reality TV blindsides of all time. After a confident Sandra gave her hidden immunity idol to Denise Stapley in exchange for her fire tokens, Denise ended up using the idol to send home the “Survivor” Queen. “And now the question will be, how much gas does Sandra have in her tank?” host Jeff Probst wonders in his weekly recap video (watch above). “Does she want to fight to get back in?” he asks aloud. Um, Jeff, what exactly are you suggesting here?!

After six episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War,” two castaways are tied with a leading four fire tokens apiece: Michele Fitzgerald and Natalie Anderson. (See the updated list of “Survivor” advantages.) These wooden coins can be used to purchase things like food, comfort and advantages, as seen this week when Tyson Apostol bought peanut butter with his newly acquired fire token. Michele and Natalie are now essentially billionaires in the game of “Survivor,” which makes them huge targets going forward.
Michele began the double elimination episode with only a single fire token, but after her best buddy Parvati Shallow was voted out, she bequeathed her remaining three fire tokens to Michele. “Here you go, Michele, enjoy,” Parvati said on her way to the Edge of Extinction. Heading into Wednesday’s double elimination episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Gold Derby readers predicted that the castaways most in danger of being voted out were Adam Klein and Parvati Shallow. These two placed at the bottoms of their Yara and Sele tribes, respectively, following last week’s tribe swap, while Sandra Diaz-Twine was the likeliest to go home from Dakal. So who were the seventh and eighth castaways to have their torches snuffed by Jeff Probst?

When the sixth episode of “Survivor: Winners at War” airs Wednesday, March 18, the Edge of Extinction inhabitants will receive yet another clue to acquire fire tokens. Four of these voted-out players already have fire tokens from their log challenge, while the other two (Tyson Apostol and Rob Mariano) are hoping to restart their piggy banks. In CBS’s latest sneak peek video (watch above), puzzle master Boston Rob believes he’s uncovered something in the clue that will lead him to the advantage — is he right?
Tyson brings “a log with a note on it” to the deserted islanders, and they immediately worry that they’re going to have to carry all of the logs back up the mountain. “Oh God, not another log challenge,” Amber exclaims. Don’t forget, the last one resulted in Ethan nearly passing out from exhaustion.

Rob Mariano may be one of the most well-known “Survivor” players of all time, but that wasn’t enough to save him from an early exit on “Winners at War.” As Gold Derby predicted, Boston Rob became the sixth person voted out of Season 40 during Wednesday’s tribe swap episode after he found himself on the new Yara beach with two former enemies (Ben Driebergen and Adam Klein) and two complete strangers (Sarah Lacina and Sophie Clarke). After having his torch snuffed, Rob bequeathed his two fire tokens to his best buddy Parvati Shallow, bumping her up to four total. That number now ties her with Natalie Anderson, making Parvati and Natalie the richest players in the game.

Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine are supposed to be the best of the best of “Survivor” champs. Rob has now appeared on the long-running CBS reality show six times, including being a mentor along with Sandra on “Island of the Idols” earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Queen has been on five seasons and remains the only castaway won the title of Sole Survivor twice.

On this week’s episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” the 15 champions still in the game will face the first tribe swap of the season, an event that can save those at the bottom of their current tribes or even tank the chances of another player at the top of theirs. Meanwhile, for the five eliminated players currently inhabiting the Edge of Extinction the tribe swap means nothing. Instead they’ll continue to find opportunities to earn fire tokens, the only glimmer of hope they have as they await more information about how and when exactly they’ll get the chance to re-enter the game.

As “Winners at War,” the 40th season of the landmark reality TV competition series “Survivor,” continues to heat up we take a look back at some of the sexiest women to play the game in its first 20 years (see above). Among our top picks are five champions currently competing for their second win and the $2 million cash prize on Season 40.
Already booted from “Winners at War,” but hoping to last long enough on the Edge of Extinction island to get back in the game is our 19th sexiest, Amber Mariano, the champion of Season 8 “All-Stars.” Amber was voted out of the Dakal tribe who was worried her connection to husband Rob Mariano at Sele was too dangerous to leave around. Amber joined our 13th sexiest female, Natalie Anderson (“San Juan del Sur” champion), on EoE. Natalie was voted out first from “Winners at War,” despite her physical prowess, but has...

I never thought I would write this sentence about “Survivor: Winners at War,” but the action on the Edge of Extinction was far more compelling than what was happening on the mainland this week. When this limbo land where voted-out castaways could get a second chance to return to the game was first introduced on Season 38, there wasn’t much going on save for some lame clues to finding advantages on the barren island. About the most interesting thing was when Reem Daly, the first resident to wash up on the shore, would berate the newly arrived contestants who had voted her out previously like some kind of sea witch.
Even more distressing to longtime fans was the fact that the winner of that season, Chris Underwood, was the third player to be voted out. Because of the twist, however, he managed to rejoin the action, participate in the finale...

As Gold Derby predicted, Tyson Apostol was voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War” in this week’s fourth episode. This former champion from “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” was anticipating an “easy vote” at the Dakal camp after everyone said they’d be on board with Nick Wilson going home. However, Tyson was thrown for a loop at tribal council when he was eliminated by a 7-1-1 vote over Nick and Kim Spradlin-Wolfe (Nick cast the sole vote for Kim in case Tyson had an immunity idol).

After three episodes and four tribal councils on “Survivor: Winners at War,” the 40th season in 20 years of the landmark reality TV competition series, the Dakal tribe has established itself as the dominant tribe, forcing the opposing Sele tribe to vote out three players while only having to sacrifice one of their own (Amber Mariano). In part two of the season premiere Dakal went to their only tribal council where they stuck mostly together as a tribe to eliminate Amber, leaving Kim Spradlin-Wolfe in the dark about their decision to split the votes between the two women.

I don’t know about you, but so far I haven’t been all that impressed by the gameplay by the supposedly two Big Kahunas who have returned for a special all-winners version of “Survivor.” Boston Rob Mariano — the apparent leader of the red Sele tribe — is supposed to be one of the greatest champs ever of the long-running CBS reality show. The same is true of Sandra Diaz-Twine. The 45-year-old mother of two — the only person to win the game twice — is not quite as obvious about influencing her Dakal tribe’s decisions just yet. But if your first intro to him or her is from this season, you might be scratching your head a bit about their fierce reputations as dragon slayers.

When the member of the blue Sele tribe first arrived on the then-deserted isle, she found a hidden immunity idol that was good for three tribal councils at the very tippy-top of a steep mountain path — a testament to her strength, smarts and agility. She sent it to Sandra Diaz-Twine of the blue Dakal tribe, who purchased it with a fire token (a kind of currency this season).
