Took over as Caretaker manager of West Ham United at the end of the
2002/03 season, winning 2 out of 3 games and drawing the other,
unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep West Ham in the Premiership and
they were relegated after a 2-2 draw with Birmingham on the last day of
the season. He took over again as Caretaker Manager after the club
sacked their regular manager, Glenn Roeder, at the start of 2003/04
season in the Championship. He won 3 out of 5 games under this spell
but lost his last game in charge of the club before Alan Pardew took
over.
