The Brown family is in crisis.
In a People exclusive sneak peek at Wednesday’s episode of Alaskan Bush People, patriarch Billy Brown, 64, brings his wife Ami, 53, to their temporary Southern California home and is greeted by a few of his seven children, all of whom are eager to hear about Ami’s biopsy.
“Not good,” Billy, 64, tells his kids. “Not good at all.”
“The fight right now, I think, is within ourselves to stay calm,” he continues. “The good Lord is going to take care of this.”

Alaskan Bush People is a reality show on The Discover Channel. It is a show about a family who is very unique to say the least. The Brown Family, which consists of Billy Brown, his wife Ami, and their 7 adult children, Matt, Bam Bam, Gabe, Bear, Noah, Snowbird, and Rain, live very far away from civilization. They live in the Copper River Valley, where the temperatures drop down to 60 degrees below zero. The family calls the area that they live in, Browntown, and they often go 6 to 9 months without seeing an outsider. They are so cut

The Brown children of Alaskan Bush People have spent almost their entire lives out in the wilderness of rural Alaska.
“To us, it’s normal, but when I sit and think about it, you know, I don’t think that most kids in the lower 48 carry a 12-gauge to go to the bathroom,” Billy Brown, the 64-year-old patriarch of the Brown family says in an Alaskan Bush People clip exclusive to People.
And sons Matt, 34, Bam, 32, Bear, 29, Gabe, 26, and Noah, 24, and daughters Snowbird, 22, and Rain, 14, have lived an admittedly sheltered life. They were mainly homeschooled by mom Ami, 53, and their...

Rain, Bird, Bear — and bears! — are back in all-new episodes of Alaskan Bush People — and People has a first look at the 2017 episodes.
“This year is all about a self-sustaining homestead,” patriarch Billy Brown says in the trailer.
And his family’s home in rural Alaska really does look like it’s come a long way since it was destroyed by a bear late last year.
Browntown — which is what the family of nine calls their home — “is becoming more than just, like, a little encampment,” says one of Brown’s sons. “It’s becoming a town.”

We look back at an often-overlooked part of the Ghostbusters legacy: it's Extreme Ghostbusters...
There was a time when no one cared about Ghostbusters. It was the late 90s - the pre-Pokemon, post-Mighty Morphin Power Rangers days to be exact. Nobody’s kid was exactly clamouring for a sequel, reboot, or a Ghostbusters continuation of any kind - except for Dan Aykroyd, who was practically lobbying for a third instalment while sitting front row at the Ghostbusters II premiere. Which is why we have this: an awkwardly timed, tonally disruptive Ghostbusters animated series.
Enter a brand new cartoon that picked up the sticky, ectoplasm-covered mantle of The Real Ghostbusters and wore it slightly askew to evoke that wholesome sense of 1990s irreverence: Extreme Ghostbusters.
Living up to its name, Xgb was extreme indeed. One glance at its radically inclusive team line-up is all you need to notice that.

While The Brown Family from TV’s Alaskan Bush People continue to struggle with legal and medical issues it further continues speculation that the show is going to be canceled. A few of the family members will be heading to jail. On the season finale earlier this month, Billy Brown, 63, his wife Ami, 52, and their seven children abandoned their makeshift home, “Browntown,” in the Alaskan wilderness due to the patriarch’s health issues, including chronic seizures. And, of course, Billy and second oldest son Josh “Bam Bam” Brown, 31, were sentenced to 30 days in jail as part of a

Billy Brown has been the touring drummer with Ladytron since 2008. He’s currently studying for his Masters in jazz performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. He blogs at curranceevans.wordpress.com.
“There are purists who think there’s only one way to play jazz. None of them are as militant as Whiplash’s tyrannical band leader, Terence Fletcher, though. There is, however, a nagging familiarity to him. He’s the neurotic voice of doubt present in all of us when we perform. A lot of the teachers we have are successful musicians to begin with. Today we have a couple more Sons of Anarchy season 5 primers, one just to sent to us by FX and another from last week that slipped my mind that I’m adding on for a double dos of Samcro love now. Both are part of the “Before the Anarchy” featurettes FX has been releasing leading up to the upcoming new season, offering insights into characters, old and new, as season 5 draws nearer. These two focus on Maggie Siff’s Tara and the Sons of Anarchy boss himself (and on-screen Otto) Kurt Sutter.
Siff talks about her new darkside and her status as the new Samcro first lady with Jax’s ascension, with Sutter sprinkling other general tidbits about Tara. The second video is about Sutter trying to establish a sense of off-camera camaraderie – citing his experience with Shawn Ryan on The Shield – with his cast and crew and how it translates for the audience on-screen.

Among the host of new faces rolling into Sons of Anarchy in the upcoming 5th season on AMC, and perhaps the most interesting on paper, is Ashley Tisdale, former Disney girl turned into Samcro setting high roller escort for Kurt Sutter next season. Tisdale is set to play Emma Jean and appear in at least two episodes of season 5, and we now get a fresh look at the former Hellcat via a still featuring her with Charlie Hunnam’s Jax, the new Samcro boss.
TVline debuted the image, adding to a set of images featuring Tisdale released in June, that presented a scene that looks like she was getting roughed up. Jean and Jax look tight in this image, and one wonders if there will be any Maggie Siff/Tara drama stemming from this, though it would seem somewhat trite now, and Tisdale’s facial expression doesn’t exactly spell comfort.

FX sent us over another featurette for the upcoming Sons of Anarchy season 5, continuing their “Before the Anarchy” pieces. This one strikes to the heart of the show, focusing on the Samcro rides: the bikes themselves. We get an inside look to some of the thoughts regarding the unique design and models of the Samcro (or rather, The Mayans) stable, introduced by Emilio Rivera, or as you probably know him, Marcus Álvarez, the Mayan’s boss, as they film a scene in Long Beach.
You may have seen some of the previous releases of ”Before the Anarchy”, which have included one that offers us a glimpse behind the scenes of season 5 newcomer Damon Pope (Lost’s Harold Perrineau) and Unser, and another that focused on the duo of Chucky and Gemma. We salute 50 of the finest contemporary films with budgets of less than $10million. Did your favourite make the list…?
In this age of multi-million dollar blockbusters and eye-watering fees paid to some actors, you may forget we’re in an age of austerity. However, for the vast majority of the film industry, there is no huge vat of money, nor has there ever been. But this hasn’t stopped some of the finest films of recent years being made on a relative shoe-string, and in some cases, quite literally with a shoe-string.
I reckon filmmaking thrives at the sharp end, and low budgets mean more creative ideas, and as a result, more engaging films. To prove this, here is a list of what I consider to be the finest 50 contemporary films made for under $10 million. There is a breathtaking array of recognisable genre pictures in here, too, with budgets rangin...

Remember when Colin Hanks was first cast, and I pointed out how Dexter had a habit of ramping up interest in season five by announcing guest star after guest star, regardless of how important they actually were to the plot?
Well good news, everybody! Horror Asylum reports that former Heroes speedster and Halloween II star Brea Grant has joined Dexter's sixth season in a recurring role! Grant also held roles in the TV adaptation of Friday Night Lights, but remains best known for her role as spunky speedster Daphne Millbrook, antagonist to Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura and love interest to Greg Grunberg's Matt Parkman.
Grant remains fairly tight-lipped on the role, but offers up ""No spoilers but I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing me in a white lab coat." Horror Asylum notes that description might place her among C.S. Lee's Masuka as a lab technician, as...

This is a good way for Brea Grant to wash the stink of Heroes off her: the actress will be appearing often on season six of Dexter.
Not much is known about the actress' character, but she wrote on her official website today: “I’ll be recurring on Dexter this season! No spoilers, but i’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing me in a white lab coat.”
Hmmm... a white lab coat. That hint doesn't offer us many clues about Grant's role, as no other recent addition to the Showtime hit - Billy Brown, Edward James Olmos, Mos Def - has been cast as a scientist or doctor.
Guess we'll need to tune in this September to find out more.

What with people like Edward James Olmos, Colin Hanks, Mos Def, and Billy Brown all signing on for "Dexter" Season Six, we were beginning to wonder if Dex was going to have any women at all in his life this year. The answer has come today, and it is a resounding "yes!" as we've learned that actress Brea Grant will be joining the guys in a recurring role.
No details were made available regarding Grant's part in the announcement that came via Variety's published May 27th edition, but Grant herself said on Breagrant.com": no spoilers but i’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing me in a white lab coat."
Brea's best known for her previous roles in Rob Zombie's Halloween II, Midnight Movie, and the TV series "Heroes". It's good to see her landing a spot on another high profile show.
