The We Own This City series on HBO was written by David Simon and George Pelecanos who also worked on The Wire TV show together. While that beloved Baltimore-based series ran for five seasons, We Own This City appears to have been designed as a single-season mini-series of six episodes. However, if it's successful enough, could this new show still be renewed for a second season? Could there be more story to tell? Stay tuned.

"We're doing our jobs. What do people want, for us to stop policing?" This looks great! HBO has revealed a full-length official trailer for a crime series titled We Own This City, which we teased with an excellent first look trailer back in March. We Own This City is based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton. The series details the rise & fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption surrounding it. It's set after the 2015 Baltimore riots and focuses on Sargent Wayne Jenkins - entrusted with fixing the city's drug & gun crisis, he chose to exploit it instead. Looks like it might be as good as "The Wire", or even better. The main cast includes Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles, Wunmi Mosaku, and Jamie Hector, along with Dagmara Dominczyk, Treat Williams, McKinley Belcher III, and Rob Brown. This...

“For All Mankind” will return for its third season on June 10, Apple TV Plus announced Monday.
Created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, the critically-acclaimed science fiction drama imagines an alternate history where Russia beat the United States in putting a man on the moon first. As a result of this historical divergence, the space race between the two countries never ends, leading to a world where both nations have advanced moon colonies staffed 24/7 and the Cold War has led to much quicker technological advances. The series focuses on the exploits of the astronauts and staff of NASA in this alternate universe, delving into both their professional and personal lives.
The first two seasons of “For All Mankind” covered a span of almost two decades, starting in 1969 and ending in the late ’80s. Season 3 again jumps ahead into the early ’90s, as the space race expands to the exploration of Mars.

Twenty years after “The Wire” revolutionized the TV landscape, the team behind the critically acclaimed HBO series returns to Baltimore with “We Own This City.”
Based on true events and adapted from Justin Fenton’s non-fiction book of the same name, “We Own This City” is developed by “The Wire” creator David Simon and George Pelecanos, also a producer and writer on that series. The limited series, directed by “King Richard” filmmaker Reinaldo Marcus Green, premieres April 25 on HBO. The cast includes Jon Bernthal, Jamie Hector, Josh Charles, and Wunmi Mosaku.
“We Own This City” chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force (Gttf), where corruption ran rampant amid policies of drug prohibition and celebrated mass arrests in lieu of detective work.
The Baltimore Police Department struggled to respond to crime with meaningful police work in the 2000s, giving itself over to mass arrest and drug warring instead.

NBC is developing a series adaptation of the 2000 film “Finding Forrester,” Variety has confirmed.
The film version followed a high school basketball star (Rob Brown) with a secret passion for writing who develops a friendship with a reclusive author (Sean Connery) who published a hit novel years before but then disappeared from public life.
The NBC version explores the unique bond between two gifted black writers: a homeless 16-year-old orphan who leverages his basketball skills to hustle his way into an ultra-competitive elite boarding school, and a reclusive lesbian author whose career was ruined by a public scandal.
Tj Brady and Rasheed Newson are writing and executive producing the project. Tim Story is attached to direct and executive produce, with Sharla Sumpter Bridgett of The Story Co. also executive producing. Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton will executive produce via Unanimous Media. Sony Pictures Television will produce. Unanimous is currently under a first-look deal at Sony.

The following post contains major spoilers for Blindspot‘s final season premiere. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, avert your eyes!
If TVLine polls could influence the fictional events of television shows, Blindspot‘s final season premiere would have come and gone without a single character death. Earlier this week, we asked you to guess which character on the NBC drama might perish in the first episode of Season 5, following a drone strike that could have killed Weller, Patterson, Reade and/or Zapata — and most of you didn’t think any characters would actually die.

Spoiler Alert: Do Not Read Further If You Have Not Seen The Season Four Finale:
First, the good news: Blindspot will be returning for a fifth and final season. Fans fretted that the show’s long hiatus in May meant trouble. But now that the final season has been green-lighted for 13 more episodes, all will be given a proper ending and explanation on the long mystery of Jane’s tattoos.
It’s a good thing, too, since season four ended with a classic cliffhanger in its two-hour season four finale.
We start with Dominic (Chaske Spencer), who took down the power grid. Jane, Weller, Reade, Zapata and Patterson head to Iceland to fix it, but are soon manipulated into being the fall guys for Madeline’s plot. Facing arrest, they start to turn on each other. But they manage to achieve their objective.

Blindspot lives again! After another spring on the bubble, the mystery drama starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander has been renewed for a fifth and final season by NBC. The pickup comes despite NBC’s recent decision to bench Blindspot for the May sweep.
Blindspot was a big breakout hit when it launched in fall 2015 behind The Voice on Monday. Its ratings took a hit once the series was moved to Wednesdays in Season 2 and further declined when it was relocated to Fridays at the start of Season 3.
While not a strong linear performer, Blindspot has done Ok in delayed viewing and has an established fan base. With a significant DVR bump, the series is averaging a 0.9 among adults 18-49 in most current rating and 4.9 million viewers.
Additionally, Blindspot has been a strong seller and profit generator for producer Warner Bros TV internationally, including a lucrative deal with Netflix. For that reason,...

NBC has ordered a fifth and final season of “Blindspot.”
The series stars Jaimie Alexander as a woman who initially crawled out of a duffel bag in the middle of New York City, completely naked except for the tattoos that covered almost every inch of her body. The tattoos were codes, and she worked with the FBI to uncover secrets and attempt to prevent crimes. As the seasons have gone on, the web of conspiracy has gotten more complicated, both due to the truth about the group that used her as a human treasure map, as well as the ever-increasing personal connections the team made with her and each other.
In addition to Alexander, the “Blindspot” cast includes Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.

Given the strong emotional reaction everyone at NBC had to Manifest, some had been wondering what was taking so long for the pilot to be picked up to series. The missing plane mystery thriller drama comes from an outside studio, Warner Bros. TV, and as we noted yesterday, along with the buzzy pilot, the studio also had bubble sophomore drama series Blindspot at the network, making for some tricky deal-making.
Negotiations have completed successfully, with Manifest, from Jeff Rake and Robert Zemeckis, ordered to series and Blindspot renewed for a fourth season. Additionally, at last year’s renewal, NBC reportedly negotiated a license fee reduction, so I’d heard the series, starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander, has been profitable for the network.
